It's always sad to read things like this..this was our headline news in April:

Teacher Tony McClean and six New Zealand high school students died after they were swept away in a raging river during a canyoning trip in the North Island

This was caused by a sudden change in the weather and flash flooding, many were injured but made it out ok..

Yep, all hell is breaking out.
I cant imagine facing a tornado in tents and thin buildings like these scouts faced.

Tornados, floods and constant hard rainfalls seems to be the norm.

Here's a local news site for more on the flooding.
http://www.whotv.com/
Especially the video in the middle of the page.
This once all happened back in 1993, and then they called it the "100 year flood".
Now its happening all over. But worse.
I'm no math expert, but 1993 to 2008 is not 100 years. Its like 15.

The tonadoes, floods...been one incredible year so far. Tragic events for a lot of people. Having been flooded three times down here in Florida, first time in 1985, and the last time in 1993, I know to well, the pain and misery of it.

I just heard on teh TEE VEE that these floods will cause huge spikes in food products this fall, due to destroyed corn and soybean crops.  Isn't everything in Amerika made from soybeans these days?
