Title: Felice Navidad, happy holidays
Post by: harleymc on December 13, 2023, 12:45:27 am
2023 was a big year, tears, rage, sadness and finally some peace.
I'm hopeful that 2024 is a prosperous year of good health and hopefully some new love life.

I wish you all a happy holiday season and all the best for 2024.

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy 2024 to you!

So many personal "holidays" for me during a 2 month period here around the holidays. 7 years married and 5 years owning our home; what could have been either my 39th anniversary with my first partner or the 23rd anniversary with my second partner; 39 years living with HIV and 31 years since I was dx'ed.

I threw a Christmas cut-out cookie decorating party with a bunch of friends yesterday and we're all trying to figure out who's going where to be with who on Christmas. Then we'll be done with 2023 and heading on into a whole new year. Woot!

ojo.           Hi all!…I think I’m the Grinch, I don’t like Christmas, because I think that the whole year should be Christmas, helping each other, sharing food with the less fortunate, etczx etc. Whath say you?… anyway. Feliz Navidad, happy holidays…hugs

I hope you are all having a happy holiday.

So far, I've told the kids a half dozen times since 5 am to "Go the fuck, back to sleep!"  >:(  Afterwards, I had breakfast, and they opened gifts and destroyed my clean and tidy house. I have already stood on parts of toys left scattered around ...

... Anyhow, started cleaning now before working on Xmas dinner.

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and begin 2024 feeling hopeful about the possibilities for a fantastic year ahead.(especially you Harley)

For me, I successfully evaded all the family invites and plan to watch my church’s service from yesterday and then be lazy with a few of my fave British holiday specials. Santa (or more likely my landlord) left a bottle of Mount Gay rum on my doorstep so my eggnog will certainly be spiked! Cheers

ojo.          Feliz Navidad everyone!… I don’t know how you spent your Christmas, but we, Mexicans, celebrate Christmas Eve, we have supper at midnight, drink, have a good time, then we open presents, the adults, and dance. Christmas morning, children, get up and open Santa Claus gifts and then we eat leftovers and watch movies…hugs

I ate too much. I drank too much.  I laughed too much.
And too much sex is coming up next.  8)
It's a good Christmas for Mr and Mr Leatherman. :D

I started cleaning this morning. The carpets are nearly ruined, and the place looks like I was robbed, but it was fun.

Tomorrow, I'll start getting ready for New Year's Eve.

Are we talking about Michael’s (leatherman) place again 🤣 glad everyone had a nice holiday. I’m working today and tomm, and then off for 10 days! When I return it will be in my new role… so the vacation will be both literally and figuratively over.

Does anyone have any plans for seeing the old year out and the new year in?

My hubby has got to work NYDay so we'll be staying in....trying to deal with the dogs and all those fireworks. :( Luckily, living in a small town means the celebration won't go on too long though.

That does remind me though. We (really just my friend and I) sucked up all the champagne on Christmas day. It started as mimosas but ended up just us super sloshed. ROFL So I need to pick up some more bubbly for Sunday night at home with my honey and the puppers.

Hope everyone's 2024 is a great year with few worries, no injuries, good friends, and lots of happiness. ;D :-* :-*

Well I am traveling back home on New Year’s Eve so I’ll probably be too tired to watch the ball drop, but the next day I’ll be cooking black eyed peas and greens.

Haha I can totally imagine you white gurl wasted on mimosas. I feel like that’s me on every one of our weekend virtual gatherings.

Do you guys cook anything special for NYs???

I lol'ed so hard Coca-Cola shot our my nose!

but the Coke in my brain gave me a revelation. tequila makes me toppy/dommy and champagne makes me silly/giggly. I can remember two glasses in and already laughing like an idiot at the cheese dip. ROFLMAO Good Times!

Yes, Oliebollen.
fried dough! mmmmmmm

I googled it and some of the pix looked like hush puppies with powdered sugar....then I realized hush puppies are fried dough too! MMMM fried dough. savory or sweet, you can't go wrong.

Living in a Southern State, of course, we're having black eyed peas and cornbread

The beans not them:

Yup, deep-fried dough balls, celebrating the new year with a heart attack. No nasty air-fryer rubbish and I'll also be doing some Apple Beignets and deep-fried bananas.

Sounds nice. Have not had cornbread in ages.

Yes Michael I am in the same boat as you: Blackeyed peas over white rice, greens, and cornbread. All the makings of a successful start to 2024!

I forgot to mention the best thing this Christmas, I got my ex-wife a book: "How to Clean Everything: A practical, down to earth guide for anyone who doesn't know where to start"

I really enjoyed watching her open that gift, made my day.

Fell asleep on the floor last night, woke up totally broken, so great party to end 2023, terrible start to 2024. I'm too old for sleeping on the floor ...

Hope you all had a better start to 2024

Larry got a cold (thanks stupid maga coworkers) and laid around feeling like crap and sounding like it too for the last 3 days. I undecorated the house.  :( We didn't even open the Champagne.  :'(

If he's still home tomorrow I'm going to go hang out at Planet Fitness. That's 10mins tanning, 30mins on the elliptical, another 30mins on the weight machines. Damn. then what am I gonna do? Hang out in the locker room? ROFL  8) Well, at least the gym will get me out of the house for an hour or so.

Sorry to hear Larry is feeling unwell, at least it's not rabies, but hope you are staying safe and taking precautions.

Although it's a great excuse to avoid having to help take down the decorations, I wish I had thought of it.
