When you fill in the I94 you have to answer "Do you have a communicable disease?". If you say no, you're lying and you are trying to enter the US illegally. If they find your meds in your luggage you go to detention and sent back.

Some people send their meds via mail first, it's not a good idea either, they could be confiscated by the US Border Authorities, or if they're in a bad mood they could wait for you at the address where you sent the meds.

There is a waiver that you can ask for; for example if there is an HIV convention, people travelling to the US for that convention will obtain a waiver. I don't know your specific case, but I would suggest that you call the US embassy in the UK and ask about your situation. You can be anonymous when you call. If you already have a visa it can depend on the visa, but if you fill in a I94 when you come to the US then you have to answer that question.

I think it's sad that the country where HIV started imposes such restrictions on people that could be coming for business, tourism, whatever, and benefit the country.

I know it's not just the US but the US is one of the harshest countries insofar as HIV+ entry is concerned and it  IS where HIV started.

I wanted to join my BF for a conference and then go on a roadtrip. But I found out I could be detained!.... so I will go to Mexico, Thailand, Morroco, any other country that doesn't discriminate.

Immigration rules are one thing (and I dispute that too as a foriegner living in Europe and contributing to the economy while paying my health insurance); but no entry whatsoever for pozies (unless you want "HIV" stamped in your passport with that special waiver) - that is pure racism.
