Title: Introduction Brazilian Friend
Post by: Brazilian Friend on December 05, 2021, 09:33:06 pm
Hey Guys!

I've been around this forum since I found out I was positive last january, so I finally decided to create an account here to try making new friends, and also share with you my experience living with HIV.

I'm 32 years, from Brazil, and I discovered my condition in the beggining of january when I had 412 CD4 and 55.000 viral load.

I started dolutegravir, tenofovir and lamivudine and within a month by february I was UD. In the first two weeks I was struggling with some crazy lucid bizarre dreams haha, but changing the time of the medication solved this issue.

In the beggining It was a bit hard to deal with It because nobody knows It beside my wife and I will never tell my parents about It since we are not exactly friends. By the way, luckly she is negative even though we never used condoms. I was so happy when her test came negative cause honestly I dont think I could live with the fact that I passed to her. Thank god!

In my case that discover was a turning point in my life, because now I appreciate taking care of my health like never before, and also I'm finally being able to look to my emotions in a less destructive way.

Anyways I've been doing psychotherapy once a week and It's helping me a lot. Im also eating much better and doing exercises every day, so right now I feel healthier than I've ever been.

I've been focusing in my job and trying to stay busy, so nothing to complain about.

I cant express how grateful I am for this forum to exist, because in the beggining I didn't know anything about living with HIV and reading your experiences was a relief to find out I could live a normal life.

Thanks again and I'm here for everyone of you who want my friendship or support.

Hey, I am happy that you overpassed the diagnosis and living with it in a healthier way.
Trust me, I feel the same now (doing more sports, started psychotherapy that helped me with issues I had form before…)

I think the key of acceptance is psychotherapy if anyone could afford it…

Keep the good vibe.

It is normal though to feel a bit down  sometimes but shouldn’t take control over one’s life!
