How I loathe school and going to class
« on: August 22, 2006, 11:45:19 am »
Feel like skipping classes on the second day of term, not a good sign. Lying here listening to "Chasing Cars."

We'll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don't need
Anything
Or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Her finely-touched spirit had still its fine issues, though they were not widely visible. Her full nature, like that river of which Cyrus broke the strength, spent itself in channels which had no great name on the earth. But the effect of her being on those around her was incalculably diffusive: for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.

I would LOVE that opportunity again!  YOu dont realize you are in the best part of your life.  I'd go back to school in a heartbeat!

Jay, the teacher here is going to scold you on this one! School IS what you make it. Especially in grad classes; since so much depends on student participation in these classes, if one doesn't like the way things are going, one can always speak up and change the direction of discussion, if not the class.

Take the apple to the teacher, and no cookies for you! :o

But that is a very beautiful song, it expresses some often hackneyed sentiments in a fresh way. Who is the singer?

I go back to highschool on Monday.

I'm DYING to go back. I miss having focus. Summer is rough for me because it's always just time that I feel like I'm wasting. I dunno how to relax, so yeah. xP.

So, pretty much, just try and feel like you're accomplishing something by being there. :3

By way of explanation: It's just that I'm classroomed-out. I'm 33, not an 18-year-old freshman, eager for redbrick and ivy walls. After college, I did three years of grad school, and now again... (I'm at this school more for convenience -- the space and time and leisure to write -- than anything else.) I compensate for my frustrations by being a big bully in the classroom and getting my peers drunk at parties. Or I take a Xanax before class and zone out. :o

No cookies for me, I have been bad. But Andrew, when are you going to lift the cookie ban. My dog may bite you. No apple for teacher, but wine to the pot-luck. The group singing "Chasing Cars" is Snow Patrol. It was played on the season finale of "Grey's Anatomy." Loved it.

Mouse, I'm happy that you're excited about school starting.

Class started for me tonight.  I am always so excited at the beginning of the semester.  Nice new pens and notebooks everything fresh.  It was all going so smooth until I dropped by the financial aid office to check on my loans only to find out that for some reason they are delayed.  UGGH!!!  Oh well.

Hmmmm ....."My dog".... I suppose it is a fait accompli then? Please do not feed it cookies (which should be easy since you have none in the house).

Hey lyd.  I got it now.  Im 33 as well, and you couldn't pay me to go to school at this age!  LOL  Next time I will do more homework on who im posting about!

Now.... skip that class and pass the bong!

Seriously when I was in college we made a 7 foot tall bong out of carpet tubing 6" wide that we named THE BITCH, you actually had to use a shop vac to pull the chamber full of smoke!!!!

Ahhhhhhhhh those were the days.
