FDA gives warning about diabetes drug
« on: November 06, 2009, 08:03:16 am »
I f any of you have read some of my previous post you will know that I have been struggling with Chronic Kidney Disease. I have Stage 3 CKD. I have been trying to decide whether or not that Truvada is one of the drugs possibly affecting this.

Yesterday the FDA released a warning to those taking the Diabetes drug Byetta. I have been taking this for 2-3 years now. The FDA warning states that studies have foundthat there are a big increase in the number of Kidney failure patients taking the drug Byetta.

I am going to call my Doc today to let him know I no longer want to take the Byetta. I believe by only option left is to start Insulin.

Are any of you Diabetic and have faced some Kidney issues? Do you take Byetta?

Just wanted to share my discovery and ask for some input from you guys.

Thanks for listening

Hey Small,

I don't take Byetta, nor do I have kidney problems that are too bad, but I am diabetic.  I take Insulin.
