Condom burst, am I HIV positive?
« on: November 13, 2015, 11:34:38 am »
Hi,

I'm 24 years old male
26 days ago, I had protected sex with a sex worker in place where HIV is common

During the intercourse the condom burst while my thing was inside her without knowing for 1 or 2 minutes,

She doesn't seem like she cares about condom bursting, she just gave me a new condom and we continued till I ejaculated.

I googled symptoms and odds of catching the virus and they all were fine, but before 3 days from now I catch flu-like with fever, 3 or 4 rashes on my hand and  some night sweats
I'm so worried because of these symptoms :(

I didn't do any test yet.
I didn't ask her about her status because she was nice and I didn't want to be rude plus she doesn't speak English well.

what are my chances of contracting  HIV?
When and what is test should I take?

Please reply with basic words because my English is not so good as well

Any feedback is welcomed, thanks in advance

Hi , You have had risk for HIV.
You were the insertive partner so your risk will be lower , but a risk
just the same.
Testing guidelines are at 6 weeks and at three months to confirm your results.
Some tests give quicker results and you can ask about those at your testing center. You can read more about testing here

Thanks a lot for your concern Wade,

So are you saying there is a big chance that I catch HIV?

I will ask about tests available here cuz I'm living in a small town.

We cant give odds on transmission but we can say as the insertive partner its in your favor . Condom breaks rarely lead to HIV infections for the insertive partner ( YOU ) .

Thanks for your reply Jeff,

I get it, I'm so worry about being HIV positive. I will wait two more weeks and then do a test.

Please note that I edited my post to say condom breaks rarely ever lead to HIV infections .

I mistakenly typed really lead to instead of rarely lead to .
