My scenario and ! glaring point that has me concerned
« on: January 27, 2014, 02:36:32 pm »
Nutshell

Scenario #1 I had sex with a new partner Dec 14th she was tested as per my request in November for HIV and Syphillis only. (This was Negative) because of the current situation I had her test again Jan 23rd Negative. I have her testing via PAP now.Her last partner was June 2013 prior to me.

Scenario #2 I had sex with an old friend. She gave me oral sex but I had shaved that morning. I had protected sex with a condom, it was a little tight so it came up about 75% of the way but it was on.  This was Jan 03 After this date i felt a strange burning in my penis. I went to the doctor right away 3 days later

I was diagnosed with Chlamydia , so I'm like oh great this sucks cuz I had sex with my girlfriend after that. but I'm not too worried, I know I used a condom and had test done in the other scenario # 1 both going and coming I saw both test myself.

I was just tested Nov 15th negative the incidents were  Dec 14th and Jano 03.

I know you do not discuss symptoms but the relvance of the symtptoms speaks to my question

Currently : My girl has had sore throat , 1 week of loose stools and canker sores, she told me today she has a strange unknown bruise

Currently: I have had 1 day of Diarrhea , 1 strange bump on my arm that won't go away seems to be a bacterial thing. Canker sores and he most disturbing thing is the arms and legs tingling at any time of day. As well as the feeling of a burning by my right rib cage . No bumps just burning.

My girl was tested : 2 weeks after we slept together (Jan 05) Negative (Jan 17) (but its too early to tell) we are both hardly sleeping and stressing allot   BUT

My question: AS OF Jan 27th

1.For 2 people to both suffer Canker Sores and variations of the same symptoms at the same time when we haven't seen each other since the incident. Isn't that highly unusual ?

2. I've spoken to both women and seen 1 womans test myself twice the other was protected ......... except for the shaving and oral I thought I had reduced the risk substantially. Wouldnt it be at least fair to say that one of these women would have had to known if they were infected or had changes in their body make up since there last encounters. My girl friend and I are noticing things right away a canker sore, diarrhea  you don't miss or forget even if it just happened once in the past 3 months.

I'm anxious and frustrated any insight would help.

You never had an exposure in any of the situations you've provided.

The risk for sexually transmitting HIV comes from unprotected anal and vaginal sex . If you haven't had unprotected anal or vaginal sex then there was no risk .

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thanks for the response, I must have gotten it from oral sex . My fears lie in these canker sores that my girlfriend and i are getting. If it was just me I would feel ok and not stress but I've read that canker sores are a definitive first sign of .......well you know.

Mix this with the other things and its not looking positive. I believe the shaving and vaginal secretions getting into the irritated area put me in harms way. Persistent canker sores and a bump on my arm that won't heal are stressing me out. Funny thing is the other 2 ladies are having no such issues that I know of .....so confused.

You did not have an exposure for HIV and could not possibly get HIV in the manner you are concerned with .
