Raking leaves

Over the weekend we paid a friends son & daughter to help us rake leaves. By the time we were done we had 26 bags. Lawn waste pick up wasn't until today so for the time being we had left the bags in the garden. I don't know what came over me yesterday but after vacuuming the house and cutting back the day lilies for winter I tackled the taunting task of hauling the lawn bags to the curb. I still don't have full use of my left arm and hand and I wobble when I walk but 2 hours after I started I had managed to get all 26 bags to the curb. I was exhausted to say the least but deep down inside so proud. It' makes me happy to be able to help Jeffrey around the house again. :)

I remember when I was younger and use to help my Dad rake up leaves. We use to make a day of it but it was some work raking a big hill and the backyard. I'm glad you are feeling better..

Jeff do like I do. I use a 2006 Wind Blower. When the wind blows, they all go into my neighbors yard and I don't have to pick them up.  ;D

Jeff,
   Isn't it funny, some of the simple things that can give us so much pleasure, so much feeling of accomplishment? I love raking leaves, and actually as a landscaper, it takes up the bulk of my time these days. Yes I'm wiped by the end of the day, but then so are my co-workers, many of whom are much younger than myself. Between, the raking, lugging bags around, and having a 35 pound backpack blower on my back for 6 out of eight hours a day, I feel pretty good that after nineteen years of infection I can still get out there and work my ass off. I'm pleased...
