Worrisome symptoms
« on: August 17, 2020, 07:24:24 am »
Hello to all. I have tested positive in February 2019. I started Genvoya medication on December:

11 December 2019 with VL 25.000 and CD4 278
05 February 2020 VL 25 and CD4 487.
06 October 2020 next test.

I have noticed muscle ache specifically on the knees. But it passed at a certain point.
Currently i have been having a sore throat for a month and a light dizziness has been the case sometimes. Just to inform you I have been extremely attentive to my daily medication to the minute. Every day regardless of anything at the same time i take it.

Is it possible that side effects appear after so much time after my first medication in December 2019? Is it possible something has not worked well and my HIV is moving towards AIDS?

Thanks a lot.

ojo.        Hello there!... What medication are you taking?. When we are newly diagnosed, everything Seems bad, try to relax and consult with your doctor if your symptoms persist. I don’t think there is nothing to worry about it... Wishing you the best ...hugs.                             ojo

Hiya,

Sorry to hear about the sore throat and the light dizziness from time to time.

Best is to see your healthcare provider and let them asses and treat whatever is the causing this instead of stresssing about it. You are going to sick from time to time, just like everyone does including your HIV negative peers.

Hope you feel better soon.
Best, Jim

Thanks so much. That’s what I intended to do though in my case seeing your doctors is not an easy case. A long before appointment needs to be booked. Hence my test for October is set already months ago. In my case you just hope everything goes well and you accumulate questions for these appointments. Also, the doctor is not a personal one:( anyway i appreciate the internet and this forum.

Yeah I hear you on appointments and delays to care at the moment.

Although just make sure were on the same page, my comment to see your heathcare provider I don't mean the HIV doc, I mean just visit your local GP.

Same here. Appointments fixed months ahead & will not know which Dr. However, Previous Dr told me to come back anytime if needed. Another way is to go to the emergency door & tell them any problems u are facing.

Here in Greece it's the same thing, for every doctor, you have to unfortunately book months in advance to get any check ups done.
When it comes to your hiv specialist it's best to ask for their number or the wards number so you can find and ask your docs about anything that might worry you. At least that's what I do. Like you,I also get different doctors (about 3) from time to time and it's best to prepare the questions you want to ask about stuff that worries you.
I hope all your  muscle aches and dizziness goes away and isn't something to be worried about.

thanks a lot for the understanding and replies guys. Yes that’s exactly what I had been doing so far. Plus a lot of internet research to the point I have become an expert  ;D
That’s how I managed to reassure myself with covid. As at first i was worried i might be in immediate danger
