You have reliably tested negative in relation to the unprotected intercourse you had. The other times you are reporting were either protected intercourse which is not risky or non-intercourse sexual activities which did not put you at risk for transmission.

You are worrying needlessly about HIV.

We do recommend that anyone who's sexually active ought to have a full STD panel done regularly. That means at least once a year. If you have concerns about other STDs, that's something to discuss with your doctor. This is an HIV-specific website.

And you do need to remember that whomever you are with you always need to be wearing a condom for either vaginal or anal intercourse. No exceptions.

Cheers,

dear Andy:
i am so glad that u are respone for me so quickly, thanks!

u know that i am a international student from Asia.but i did a oraquick in local clinic  in US.
now i back to Asia.and that new girl who i meet in Feb2008 also lived in Asia.
so i never uesd and knew oraqick in our country.so i still have questions:

1.how much accurate about oraquick(the twice time was negative)?how can u so make sure i am all right?

2.I remember the first time test .the clinic's nurse help me to get some oral fluid .but she just use few second to do that!and second test (11months from unprotected sexy),the same clinic where i went just give me oraquick and reqiur get oral fluid myself ,so is the process make right ?i doubt the result.

3.is a new girl who i meet that produce sympotom so fast if i transmit some virus for her?(because she looks like catch a cold for a long time and not look better.about our first protected sexy in Feb12 until today, she always feel bad)

thank u Andy and anyone who will give me suggestion!i am really scared and hard to talk to anyone surround me!my english looks so difficult to read ,sorry!

Oraquick is an approved test. If you have tested negative at 13 weeks or more that is a reliable result.

As long as you use a condom everytime for intercourse you don't have to worry. They provide very effective protection against transmission. The woman's having a cold or other symptoms are irrelevant, if that is what you are worried about.

Just keep using those condoms.

dear Andy or anyone:

I did oralquick in 6 and 11 months from unprotected ,both of results are negative
my unsafe sexy was in July 2006.i male love with a girl and without condom about 2 times .
and her period just gone but still had a little blood.
i never doubt about HIV during this time.

i meet my right now  gf  in Aug 2006 .we also had unprotect sexy.
In Jan 2007 she got a herpes, and during those day she alos had some symotom like sore throat ,fever....

I began to worried unsafe sexy in July 2006.
so i went to loacll clinic and took oraquick advance (swab oral fluid) in Febb2007
.after 20 min it come out negative.

after that test my gf still had some symptom .her leg had one rash .so we make appointment with dermatology doctor.she said this was not relative with HIV or any STD.but i still worried.

so i decided do one more test in June 2007(11 months from unsafe).it was alos negative.but this time the clinic nurse want me swab the oral fluid bymyself.

i leave US to Asia.and meet a new girl in Feb12 2008.we had protect sexy and BJ without condom and french kiss in Feb 12 and Mar 3.just two times!
but the new girl is  continuly fever and sore throat right now.it happan almost 2-3weeks but she is not getting better ,and i start worried and depress.
so my questions are :

1.the secondary time for oraquick that the nurse want me make myself .the result was correct?reliable?

2.why the two girls(my gf and the new one) all have some symtomp after i have sexy with them?

3.if i also had herpes ,the new girl who did BJ for me(without condom).is that the reason for her fever and sore throat continuly?

4.can i trust 6and 11 months result from oraquick advanced(i never knew the device was expire or not)?is the test sensitive?

can somebody help me ,i am so scarted .please ,thanks!

You have no business having unprotected sex with anyone unless you are in a securely monogamous relationship in which both you and your partner have tested negative together. Otherwise you should always be using a condom for intercourse.

I don't see any reason to doubt the reliability of the HIV negative test results you have had.

Whatever is going on with the health of anyone you have been with, whether in relation to an STD or anything else is for that person to resolve with their doctor. We can't diagnose symptoms here nor do we guess about such matters. If you are having any symptoms that's for you to discuss with your doctor. We also suggest that anyone who is sexually active ought to regularly have a full STD panel done, which means at least once a year.

Rick,

You ARE hiv negative and you do NOT need further testing. Keep using condoms and you won't have to worry about hiv in future either.

As you have been told, we cannot diagnose your girlfriend. She must go to her doctor to find out what is going on.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

You are conclusively hiv negative and there's nothing more we can do for you here.
