Title: From TDF to TAF? + Lamivudine + Efavirenz

Hi Everyone! I am currently on TDF + Lamivudine + Efavirenz.

Experiencing some renal issues, that's why my doctor and I wish to switch TDF to TAF but retain Lamivudine and Efavirenz in my regimen.. Doctor said that it should work "In Theory". Where I'm from, the newer drugs that are usually combined with TAF are not yet available (like the ones found in genvoya or biktarvy)..

Does anyone know if such combination (TAF+3TC+EFV) will work and is safe to use?

Presumably  you have a generic source of TAF.  IF so the combo is fine.  (PS I am not a doctor, just based on information I have read.)

Yes, I can get my hands on generic TAF (For Hepatitis B). I have yet to find any studies online that combines TAF with EFV and 3TC which is odd because TDF+EFV+3TC is the most widely used combination in the 3rd world (if not the world). With the limited drug options we have, It doubly sucks to have HIV in this part of the world :(
