Well, here's a little something to shake up this post, and it's also for all you youngsters (and aging show queens--the few of us still left) out there.  It's the one, the only, the incomparable, the magnificent Dorothy Loudon, in a song from "Ballroom," Michael Bennett's big bomb of a musical, the first one he did after "Chorus Line."  She plays a middle-aged widow who falls in love with a married man (where have I heard that one before?).  Pure perfection.  THAT's how to do a lyric, boys and girls:

I was lucky enough to see both during their Broadway runs, and they were both amazing.  But Lupone wins, hands down.  From the few friends I have that actually saw Merman, she would win the overall contest.

Not sure if you owned it on vinyl, but when "Controversy" first came out it included this free poster -- and yeah I've got it around here somewhere.

Oh yessssss B52s Loved them when I was a teenager and 30 years later I caught them again with 2 dates in Europe and they rocked.

At Montreux Jazz Festival 07 in Switerland they were on fire. They were opening act for Pet Shop Boys who were zzzzzzzzzzzzzz boring with a tacky show and cheesey boy dancers. 

Real bands are so much better, in the end.  Ive seen PSB and similiar acts do visually amazing shows and occassionally quite trancy but b52s make you dance what could be better than that.

There is a comment in the youtube with your clip about some guy who saw them with talking heads back in the day, same story - b52s blew away the talking heads, live. (And that's saying a lot, cause talking heads can be amazing live - stop making sense tour was hot.).

Both ladies rather zaftig in Montreux, but  touring for a year did them great cause by Amsterdam this summer they looked sweet!

They learned to really sing in the early 80s (mesopotamia quite a perfect disk - thank you David Byrne I guess he knew if you can't beat em, join em) and they really do still sound great, maybe better.  Though your clip makes me remember the skinny youthful energy of a fresh band, and that's very exciting.

 Tested positive in 1985,.. In October of 2003, My t-cell count was 16, Viral load was over 500,000, Percentage at that time was 5%. I started on  HAART on October 24th, 2003.

 As of Oct 2nd, 2023, Viral load Undetectable.
