My husband is HIV+ ... undetectable to detectable

My husband has HIV, he has been undetectable since Sept 2011. I called his Doctor today for his results and he has gone from undetectable to now being detectable with 76 being his count. I know this is still low but I am unsure if we should be concerned. He is taking Atripla and it has always seemed to do great. His CD4 is still fairly good at 862. The only thing he has been doing differently is now he is also on Abilify. Does anyone know if this could be a drug interaction? There are times when he takes his pill a few hours later than normal, as far as we know he has never completely missed a dose. Any thoughts?

A viral load of only 76 is absolutely nothing to worry about. It's what's known as a "blip" and more likely than not, he will be undetectable next time he has his labs done.

Just a few years ago anything under 500 was UD - the tests are just a lot more sensitive now - and with that super-sensitivity comes blips. Don't worry about it.

Thanks so much for the response Ann...this does make me and him feel a little better, we were afraid he might have to switch medications, which isn't too bad but at the same time might be more of a headache...I hope his next test is UD as you mentioned
