why do some cd4 rebound and some dont?

Im wondering why some people can go from 0 to 200 cd4 in a few month when others on the same meds cant ever get there? Can someone explain that...same meds same age people why dose one do better than the other? Is there a term for people like that who dont make much progress because it seems like most people on here are recovering much faster than me. Is it something more simple like diet or vitamins

another question is there anybody on here that has been on meds for years and never got to 200? Whats that like.

Me being new to all this might not help you much but I share your pain and hope your numbers will rebound faster at some point.. From what I've read here and there it has alot to do with how long this virus sits inside us without treatment that it just takes longer.. I think I remember someone on here had to wait years before seeing his numbers over 200 cd4.. Hopefully you wont have to wait too long.. whats important is that the VL remains suppressed is what my dr. says.. I also try to live as healthy as possible, dont smoke, eat right and excercise everyday if I could.. I dont take my life for granted like I use to.. Hope your numbers go up soon, take good care of yourself... and thank you for helping me when I needed it most.

I started with 8 tcells and vl of a half million. In 7 months, I was undetectable and my CD4 has been high 200's to 300. There is no real time-frame for rebounding Tcells. The priority is to get the virus to an undetectable level and keep it there. Specifically for TCells, Every case is unique due to a wide range of variables that include both host factors like age, immune integrity, concurrent infections, adherence, genetics, etc. and viral factors like viral strain, viral load, viral fitness, etc. HIV replication and viral load need to decrease before CD4 counts can begin to rise. How quickly and how much they will rise is an unknown and varies considerably from patient to patient.
