I'm kind of going to miss the thing. I have become addicted to oxygen.

But it means that the recovery process is proceeding, and more quickly than I thought. PCP sucks. don't get it. Night sweats stink, and coughing is boring. Fevers make me cranky, and bad sleep is worse, I suspect, than none at all.

I have been remarkably compliant with the Meproon and Bactrim. Apparently all it takes is the real threat of death.

just thought I'd give an update. I have a doc appointment this week, and he will re-assess my lung capacity, sort of give a preliminary ro asertain how much damage is reversible, and how much is not.

Read online where the lead singer of Boston killed himself, due to deep despair and depression, by locking hiimself in his bathroom with two burning charcoal hibachi grills. I can only imagine what he felt like, suffocating. I've regained an appreciation for the whole breathing without panic thing. Plus, he wrote the best song about Sarek of Vulcan's wife that I have ever, ever heard.

Recovering. Still tired, cranky, fevery, and frustrated. But no longer feeling quite so close to the end of the line. Just checking in on that regard.

Hey Jonathan,

That's good news regarding the rebreather. It is good to see your health has improved.

Edited to add: I understand the breathing issues. In my case, it is too many years sucking on cigarettes. I may make a comeback, who knows.

Breathing, independent breathing, is a good thing.

I still have the nebuliser from several months ago, plus a collection of various iv kits, bp monitors, etc etc.
One just never knows when these things might come in handy
