tested positive oct 13 , after a few months of being sick.
« on: November 09, 2010, 02:49:40 pm »
I have been reading alot of your post and it has helped me alot. Some of the questions and answers are alot of what i have been thinking about.

I got sick in late august with a bad flu ( i thought ). After a week on medicine i was getting worse, ended up in the emergency room. Was having stomache problems , high fevers and headaches. Then problems with my liver and gal bladder (both enlarged) and breathing problems. Was on medical leave from work for almost a month. Then after i was getting better and went back to work, i got sick again. I was sent to a pulmonary doctor to get checked out . After only 5 minutes of talking to her , she asked when my last hiv test was. Although i had thought about it, i figure it couldnt be it because none of the MANY doctors had brought it up. So now im feeling alot better, just tired and no energy still. Went to see my new hiv doctor and got blood work done, go back next week to find out the counts and everything else.

Because i was sick for so long i had no choice but to tell my family and best friends. Im really glad i did because ALL of them have been great. Im getting so much support from them. I still have bad days but i think doing good so far .

Hi Billy,

Welcome!

Sounds like you had a rough post-infection period. Another friend of mine had a very similarly tough time this summer and now he's doing well.

We're glad you found your way here. It is important that you have a good doctor to work with as a partner in keeping you well. Beyond that gradually you're going to learn everything that you need to and there's no rush about it. You're always welcome here to ask questions or to talk about anything that's on your mind.

I am happy to hear that your family and friends have responded well to your news.

Remember that you're always welcome here.

Cheers to you.

Welcome Billy!

So sorry to hear about the rough road you've had. But it's good to hear your family is being very supportive, that alone will help you immensely.

Keep us updated when you get your labs.
