Title: Canker sore oral transmission Risk
Post by: Toneperc88 on August 13, 2012, 11:15:02 am
Hi, I am a gay male and I performed oral sex on 2 other men, very briefly. One says that he is Negative, I do not know the other ones status but I am suspicious.   They were partying, so they were flaccid.   I imagine that the amount of Pre-Cum would not be much, as they were not erect.  I later noticed that I have 3 White Canker Sore patches on the roof of my mouth towards the left side.  I know this would constitute as an open sore. I have a bottle of Travada and was wondering if I would benefit from starting PEP.  This incident was within the last 48 hours.
Thank You.

Your own saliva contains over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of viable HIV if it is present.

There's no need for PEP nor for furthe concern on your part about this incident.

The only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. As long as you properly use condoms for those activities you will be well protected. Yes, it really is that simple.
