I've been dianosed with chronic kidney disease due to my elevated creatine levels. I suffered some kidney damage from an experimental drug I took many years ago for CMV. I think that years of being on antiviarals has also had it's effect. My primary care doctor has referred me to a nephrologist and infectious disease specialist. I hate the idea of more doctors and meds but understand the need.
Has anyone else experienced this? What is the treatment?

Some HIV drugs can affect kidney function. Tenofovir is one of them. When you see the nephrologist, I would ask them to check if any of the drugs you're taking may be causing or contributing to decreased kidney function.
