What countries are members from?
« on: December 06, 2007, 02:22:09 pm »
I know that AIDSmeds has members in the U.S., the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Belgium, Ecuador, and Israel.

Any members from other countries?

Allan

Wini, we don't like to be considered southern - we seceded (sp?) from VA during the civil war so we wouldn't be associated with the south.  I was born on an army base in KY and raised in the swamps of south Louisiana. So, I'm a transplanted southern rebel yankee wannabe ;D who moved here to hide from my inlaws.

Well this piqued my interest. I found out that the Isle of Man is not even part of the U.K. It is a "dependency of the Crown"!

Dan! Exotic?! Do your impressions of Hong Kong come from the Suzie Wong's movie? Watch the next Batman, which just finished its filming here. Apparently to some people Hongkong looks more like Gotham City than being exotic.  ;D

As for me, our clan was here even before the British took over Hongkong as a colony. My grandfather though followed one of his brothers and moved to Mexico and then Peru when he was young, and stayed there until the early 50s after the military coup that, er, fucked up the country since. We still have a house in Lima, which I visited just last year.

I was however grew up mostly in Canada and the US as my mother was having a tough time with us after my father left her. I was sent to first live with one of my aunts in Sacramento with my sister, then Toronto and then back to California in Berkeley.

Yes, it's a strange set-up for this ex-pat American, one I have yet to fully wrap my head around. We have our own Parliament* which is the oldest continuous Parliament in the world. Never mind that it's a bunch of blowhards and farmers who end up elected to the House of Keys - there's not a proper politician amongst the lot of them. They pretty much copy what goes on in the UK and do as they're told by the Lieutenant Governor, who is appointed by the Crown.

At least we have a reciprocal agreement between the Manx NHS and the UK NHS - which means I'm getting good hiv care in Liverpool. :)

Ann
(who is still known as "The Yank" by many of her Manx compatriots even after nearly 17 years of living on the Rock)

*The Manx Parliament is called Tynwald and consists of the House of Keys and the Legislative Council, known in the vernacular as "LegCo". Thus endeth today's lesson on Manxies.

Anywhere is exotic compared to Jackson, TN! LOL & no my impressions of Hong Kong are not from the Suzie Wong movies. I have never seen any of those films, but now I want to just to see what you are talking about. My impressions of Hong Kong are from what I learned in school and from a show I have seen on the Travel Channel.

I would really like to learn more about your life there if your willing to discuss it please send me a PM.

If you wanna see what Hong Kong is like but the airfare is too expensive, you could always visit Hongcouver in Canada.  It's practically the same thing.

What your worry should be those corrupted officials from Mainland China setting up homes there by sending their completely spoiled kids and mistresses there first. In no time it will be called Shangcouver instead.

Consider how many women are being left there by their husbands, maybe you should forget about the South American or Russian women... go for Chinese! They may look shy but I am sure many are as horny as you're.. ;D
