Hi All,

My situation as follows:

Had protected sex with a prostitute of unknown HIV status about 4 days ago. Half way through, condom slipped off while i was thrusting. The tip of my penis brushed the outside of her vagina (which was quite dry). I stopped all act.

Performed unprotected cunninglingus on her for 1 minute. Finished the act, went to the toilet and realized i had a small cut on my inner lips, and maybe tongue. About the size of a pin prick and it looked red.

I am unsure of whether it was there before or after cunninglingus.

On the 2nd day after the act, i experienced mild headache, flu, cough and sore throat.

I am very worried and considering that 4th gen tests will be accurate only after 14 days (about 10 more days to go), please help advise me, your opinion on the risk...

Many thanks!!!

If the condom covered the head of your penis until you withdrew then you did not have a risk. If what you are concerned about is your penis having touched the lips of the vagina once you withdrew but without penetration, that was also not a risk.

If your penis was still in the vagina after the condom slipped off that would have been a risk, albeit a low level one.

You can test initially at 6 weeks. Assuming that you get a negativer result then I would expect you to test conclusively negative at 3 months. But I am not clear from what you have reported that you actually had a risk.

The oral sex part was not a risk as your saliva has over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively prevent the transmission of viable HIV. None of your symptoms are in anyway HIV specific. If they continue you should discuss them with your doctor.

Dear Andy,

Thank you very much for your reply! Definitely answered my doubts very clearly!

Will go for a test when the window period is over.

I was really worried on the cunninglingus part since it was kind of an open wound.

If i remember correctly, my penis was definitely not inside the vagina when the condom dropped off, so your reply really made me feel better.

Actually, i am so grateful for you to have replied to my queries as i was worried sick...

Sorry if i sound incoherent and did not phrase the replies nicely... my mind was a mess... :)
