My HIV risks and symptoms. Pls advise me
« on: February 02, 2024, 06:40:17 pm »
Good day everyone. I just found this forum and saw there is great knowledge here.
Let me explain my situation in details.
Mr risks
1. I had sex with condom with a lady on the 10th of December 2023. I used a condom and she was on top of me. After ejaculating, and I brought out my pelvis  I noticed some blood stains on top and at the tip of the condom. When I asked, she told me she just finished he menstrual circle. I quickly went to the toilet  wiped the condom first with tissue and carefully removed it ad then washed with soap and water.
2. On the 15th of December, I had sex with a lady I do not know her status. I used a condom and was on top of her. After sex I carefully removed the condom which was intact and washed with water.
3. I had an upper GI endoscopy on the 17th of December 2023 and a sample was taken for biopsy.  I feel this has risk of hiv infection.
My symptoms
From the 10th of January I started having serious GI issues. Nausea, loss of appetite, indigestion and dairrhea. I couldnt eat for a week and I lost over 8kg of my weight. I have been sweating profusely at normal temperature. I just noticed rashes at my back this evening. The rash is a pimples like raised rashes looking like they have something at their tip/mouth. The rash is mainly at my back and upper arm. I have done HIV test on the 12th of January,  20th of January, and yesterday 1st of February and they came out negative. The dairrhea has stopped but I am still sweating profusely and having itching especially at night and the rash I have.. please are these signs that I have contacted HIV?

I had sex with condom

I have done HIV test on ...yesterday 1st of February and they came out negative

HIV is transmitted by unprotected anal/vaginal sex or by sharing injection needles
You properly used a condom and had NO risk for HIV

Your no-risk situation was confirmed by your negative test result

Speak with your doctor is you are still having health issues as they are NOT caused by HIV

Have a great day,
Michael

Reducing Your HIV risks:
With no exceptions, use condoms correctly and consistently for anal or vaginal intercourse
Talk to a healthcare provider about PrEP as another layer of protection

Get tested yearly for HIV and other STIs.
If you don’t use condoms and/or PrEP, test more frequently

Some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other more easily acquired STIs. It is possible to show no signs or symptoms from an STI so testing is the only way to know.

Get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

What’s the ONLY way to know if you’ve been infected by HIV or an STI?
Get tested.

Please there is a development. 2 days ago I noticed some rash at my back and behind my arms. It looks like pimples with small mouths and those that are drying have black moths and when the dry the mouth peels. I went to show my Doctor who is a consultant and after examinations, he has I had a mild mpox. He examines me for lymph nodes but disnt find anyone. He said her mother had same issue a while ago and he found it was mpox. He said all my earlier symptoms were related to the mpox. The problem is that I cant say how long the rash has been there but I know I have been having itching at my back. I live i Africa where test for confirmation of mpox is hard to get.
My questions are.
1. Does this sound true?
2. Does hiv rash look like pimples with mouth that has some substances in it and when it dries does it turn black and scare.
I am worried even when I had sex with condom and used the condom correctly without pulling or bursting with lady. What I am worried most is the Endoscopy I had mid Decemer 2023. I feel I was infected with hiv in the process.
Please I need honest answers

Neither the protected sex or the endoscopy was a risk for HIV.

Let you doctor diagnose and treat those symptoms for whatever illness that is. Your symptoms are NOT a sign of HIV infection.

For 2 days now I have been down with high fever of 38 degree Celsius . With headach. The Doctor did my full blood count and found out I have very low lymphocyte level that they have to bring and oncologist to examine me. The rash at my back has dried up. I have done my research and found it is HIV that can cause all these symptoms and especially the low lymphocyte. I am just trying to figure out where this is coming from as the 2 people I have sex with condom on December 16 and december 30th have gone to do hiv test and came out negative last two weeks and last week. I am very down and hearth broken

you used condoms for sex. your multiple HIV tests came back negative. Your partners' tests came back negative. That's means quite simply that you are NOT infected with HIV.

A low lymphocyte count simply means that your immune system is weak right now. With all the symptoms you have been describing that is not a surprising result. Your research was flawed as your symptoms seem to fall quite in line with your doctor's diagnosis of mpox and not HIV.

Keep working with your doctor and oncologist to determine what the problem is, as it's certainly NOT HIV, as proven by the multiple test results you have gotten.
