Title: HIV and Travel
Post by: wrm on March 29, 2007, 04:29:20 pm
I am traveling to ST Lucia this weekend. I wondered if anyone knew of the travel policy there.  I am on Atripla.

Thanks

http://travel.state.gov/travel/tips/brochures/brochures_1230.html doesn't show st lucia. It seems that St Lucia population is very affected by HIV. You could call their embassy to verify the entry requirements.

my doc said that when I travel to third world countries, excluding 4 -5 star hotels, I should not eat salads because we don't know what water they are using to wash the veggies.

He also said to stay away from pealed fruit, he said if you did not see it being pealed or you didn't peal it yourself then you should not eat it.

Fried food has to be done with oil and not animal lard/fat. Some street vendors tend to cook with lard and that is a no-no.

Stay away from milk, i've had bad experiences with milk, even in europe.
