Liver changes - extra tests?
« on: July 16, 2018, 07:14:11 am »
Clinic called me today. Said they noticed some changes with my Liver and asked me to go in for extra liver related blood tests this week. “Just to check” they said.

Can anyone give me any insights about this please?

I’m on the genvoya nearly 8 weeks now.

I hate calls like this, really make me anxious :(

Well, it is difficult to comment on this because there aren't any details, but it sounds like your doctor saw one or more lab tests that had results that were different from what you have had in the past and wants to either redo them or redo them with some additional tests.

This isn't all that uncommon - it is why I (and others on here) always say to not focus on any one "abnormal" test result.  Sometimes you will simply get something that isn't in your normal trend of results.  Usually a repeat shows things back to where it usually is, but sometimes it can be an indication of something else.

At this point, just try not to think too much about it -- go for your lab tests and wait to hear from your doctor (I know -- easy to say, harder to do).  There really isn't anything you can do about this, except stick your arm out for the needle!

Good luck, and let us know how things go.

Mike

Thank you Mike. I went yesterday and stuck out my arm for the needle 🙂
I actually didn’t see the doc, just went and gave the sanples.
Hopefully there’ll be nothing to worry about 🙏
