My medication was refilled with the wrong pill
« on: July 10, 2018, 08:40:19 am »
Hi everyone...I NEVER miss doses and I’m really nervous. I take Odefsey and my pharmacy recently refilled my prescription with Truvada by mistake. I thought that Odefsey may have changed their formula or something so I just started taking the pills anyways, not thinking or looking it up. I finally just checked Odefsey’s website and there has been no change...I have indeed been refilled with Truvada by mistake. So, I’ve been taking Truvada and only Truvada once a day for the last 6 days. I know that it is not a full HIV regiment and I’m scared about the repercussions! It’s 5am here so I can’t call my doctor yet today, but I will be doing that ASAP. Luckily I happen to have an extra bottle of Odefsey, so I just ate a bit and took one of the correct pills as soon as I realized all this. How worried should I be about developing resistance?

All you can do is what you have done, and speak to the doctor ASAP and get it sorted.

You may need some closer monitoring just to check there are no problems but fingers crossed you will be okay.

Lesson for everyone here is - always question if something looks to have suddenly changed with the supplied meds without warning!

Indeed no point stressing about this, it happened and you can't change that.
6 days, i would suspect you would be fine, talk to the doc to confirm.
