My alarm failed to go off and I've taken today's pills 15 minutes late. That should be OK as long as it doesn't become a habit, right? All other doses have been 100% on time.

I have been late a couple of times, even 2 hours before and it hasn't caused me any harm. I am sure it is ok.

You're worrying about 15 minutes?  Seriously?  What do you do when you miss an entire dose?

You know, the target is 95% adherence, at least that's what my doctor says.  If you dose twice a day then do the math and that's your "allowance".

I was never even informed by my doctor that there was a strict time adherence that needed to be followed lol   Guess it's time to possibly look for a new one..  I always figured as long as you took your pills daily as suggested there was no issues, and that although it's bad to miss a dose, missing one isn't detrimental to your health.

Is time adherence really that strict of an issue?

Damn.

I urge you to read this part of the LESSONS section at the top of the page:

http://www.aidsmeds.com/articles/Treatment_5031.shtml

Understanding what this virus is, wht it does, and what the meds to keep it in check can do, and how to sue them, is the only way you will survive HIV.

You have to educate yourself. Have to. Or you not make it. Yes, it is that serious.

to the OP, the drugs are a LOT more forgiving than they used to be. And each year, the refinement process gets better and better. An hour or two either way is not going to be an issue. Just try not to miss a dose altogether (and if you do, don't double up on the next dose). I honestly think you will be fine.

Point taken.. Thanks!=)

I'm pretty well educated in regards to the virus itself, but to be honest, no I wasn't aware of the fact that their was a strict time factor involved regarding taking your pills as long as it's around the same time each day (i.e., before going to sleep).  I thought if sleep time varied by hours (say 11pm one night, and 3am another night) it wouldn't make a big difference.

Nevertheless, good to know, thanks.
