I am looking forward to seeing some responses to your question
.
I am in self-isolation on a smaller island in the Philippines and my supply of Triumeq is diminishing with each passing Covid day.
My doctor suggests I try and find Kivexa and Dolutegravir.

Maybe someone can recommend an Indian online shop

NB: I am not from here: I am an Aussie tourist sheltering under a palm tree.

Hi Wardp,

I would like to ask how long it took for them to deliver the items you ordered?  What was the logictics company that was used?

I am in the Philippines now and I  take Triumeq, per my research they have a generic version in India under the name Inbec Tablets.

I was able to buy some bottles in Bangkok before the lockdown at the Thai Red Cross Anonymous Clinic but it would not last very long.  I only have 2 months left and I am starting to feel anxious.

A doctor advised me that worst comes to worst I can take LTE which is available here in the Philippines but I am considering three things:
1) I may become resistant to Triumeq if i switch to LTE
2) LTE might not work for me since Triumeq is a different combination of antiretrovirals
3) Triumeq is the latest version of ARV vs LTE.

This is a different topic but I just had to put it in.

Hope you can reply to my questions.  Thank you.

CD4 585, undetectable,
Been on Triumeq since 2018
Used to take LTE from 2013 to 2017

Hi Drifter
You can switch to Dolutegravir with TDF+FTC (or) TDF+3TC. This combination is same backbone Dolutegravir (the main one) as your Triumeq.
I dont think changing to TLE wont make you resistant to dolutegravir. only if you take on and off and inconsistently, you can develop resistance.

Hi guys,

I have a question. How do you know if the generic meds you bought from the supplier are what they are supposed to be?

Meaning how to tell if the pill actually contains the ingredients they are supposed to contain? Pills usually have marking etc.

Studies have shown the ingredient/s are the same. Variance only by few %.

The marking cannot be the same as original ones as there is trademark protections. Generic will have different “markings” but usually look the same shape & colour as original. Generic are not fake drugs.

You don't know, but neither do any.of us know that the last bottle of medications is the same as the next one, even if they are manufactured by the patent holder.

It's a trust matter, but I'd be inclined to trust a company that has had to meet stringent quality control standards to have been licensed to make a copy.

I guess one need to trust if one cannot afford original. Generic is widely being used in countries that provide free meds esp in poorer regions. Some country like England has start providing generic. I guess that give lots of assurance.
https://www.aidsmap.com/news/apr-2018/nhs-england-saved-ps10-million-switching-generic-anti-hiv-drugs-2016

There are studies done on generic brands.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5538668/
"After more than one year of follow-up, we found no evidence of increased risk of reduced efficacy or increased toxicity after switching from branded to generic lamivudine or zidovudine/lamivudine or efavirenz."

I think some ppl are thinking generic as same meaning as "fake". Here it is not like fake Armani glasses where the logo looks more like a pigeon instead of eagle.  ;D

Actually I have no doubts about generic meds by a licensed manufacturer. What I was concerned about was that of scammers. For example people online through a selling forum who say they are able to sell a particular med, how will I know they are selling me the real generic and not trying to scam me?

Start from the “tail”
- Identify the company & which drug u r keen to buy
- contact them & ask which online company sell for them
- order from those online sites that the drug company recommend

Scammers usually want money only. Which means the drugs “will not reach you” after you paid them.
