Angular Cheilitis (lip service)
« on: March 09, 2011, 04:48:29 pm »
Hi folks:

For a number of years now, I find when I exert myself, walking fast, working hard, I get what looks like dirt around my mouth.  It is not related to my diet, as it happens any time I stress my body. It can be embarassing.  Does anyone else have this issue?   I think this has something to do with all the medication.  Perhaps it has something to do with being in the garden,  but I don't really think thats it.

Tks,
Bertram

hey Bertram,

I've never experienced angular cheilitis but I think it's akin to a cold sore...no cure, just whatever treatment your doctor can provide until it goes away.

Is it painful?

Hi, no, it's not painfull, this stuff just wipes off, like dirt, or something.  It forms just around the edge's of my lips.  I carry a cloth when ever I garden, because it allways appears when I do strenuous activities.

all things considered, it's certainly not the worse thing that could happen.

yeah, I hate little nuisances that aren't too serious, but, I still don't like that I can't do anything about.
