my mother passed away tonight
« on: June 21, 2007, 09:48:44 pm »
Tonight my mother passed away.

She looked pretty good when the wife and i arrived at the hospital to see her. She went very peacefully, did not seem to be in any pain. i had prayed yesterday in the E.R. and today if the lord took her to let her go peacefully, and she did.

She is with all her loved ones that went before her.

So hard to keep in perspective, that now is not the time to morn our loss, but to celebrate her life.
She still lives in the hearts of everyone she touched, and when the last person who remembers her is gone.
Then we will all be together again.

Celebration is right!  I lost someone special a year ago Sunday, and it sure was hard, and teary, and downright excrutiating.  But now, everyday when I think about her, it's a celebration.

My condolences,

Lucas... there is nothing to say that isn't trite except.... you have my deepest condolences.  I am sure that your mother felt she was very lucky to have you as a son.  Be glad for her life and the happy times you spent together.  This is, and will continue to be a difficult time.  Until time begins to dull the sharpness of your loss, know that there are many out there who understand your sorrow.  Be sure that when you are feeling it the most that you seek comfort and solace in those who shared your love for your mother.

Lucas,

I can only imagine how difficult and sad this is for you and your family.
Connecting with the part of you that knows how much you loved your
mother, and how much she loved you, is something you can take comfort in.
Remembering, sharing and celebrating that with those close
to you should make this sad time easier, and help pull you through.

Hugs,

Henry

Thanks everyone for your kind words....and Thank You Rodney for the phone call last night, it meant alot to Brian.

I've never seen anyone die right before my eyes, I just hope that when it's my time, I go as peacefully as she did.

When we walked in the room, she had her head up looking out the window, eyes wide open, she didn't acknowlegde us at all though.  Then she was gone within a half hour.  Poor thing has suffered the past 2 years, I'm glad her suffering is over.

Thanks again...Love you all!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I had quickly skimmed the forums before shutting down the computer last night so I was aware of this before going to bed so the last thing I did before putting my head to the pillow was to say a prayer for you and your family. Jeffrey was asleep so I didn't tell him until this morning. He sends his thoughts and love to you both this morning. I haven't lost a parent but Jeffrey understands because he went through this in November with his dad.

Brian, Nadine and I have talked about your mom and she's told me how you were always there for your mom. I know she will be missed but I hope you can find some comfort in the fact that the suffering is over and she's at peace in heaven. It's never a good time but I'm happy you were home and none of his happened while you were in Ohio visiting.

Hugs and Love

Brian and Nadine,

Sorry to hear your mom passed. I will say a special prayer for you and your family. I know how hard it is right now and how you need to celebrate her life. My dad past away just 25 days ago. I wasn't close to my dad, it was his doing not mine. but I still morned him. He knew i loved him and that i forgave him. But it still is hard knowing he is gone. Keep your memories and think about her life and the happy times. She is in no pain now and watching down over you two.

Love Wendy

It sounds like a beautiful LIGHT eminated from your mother....perhaps it was a fierce light or perhaps a soft peaceful light.... So know that while her physical presence has made its transition, that LIGHT will shine ever so bright in your minds and hearts.....

I wish for you the LIGHT of PEACE, now and forever more!

i had a hard time today setting up the funeral, the wife and my sister were there also.
Ive yet to breakdown over this, a few tears. i think ill be OK until this is over.
There is no right way or wrong way to mourn. No one says you have to breakdown. We all mourn differently it's just important that you allow yourself to mourn when that time comes.

Our thoughts are still with you

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
