They can't even get the first question right:

"Do Chinese mothers make their kids eat everything on their plates?"

What? We don't eat from a plate! We eat from a bowl! And all dishes (on plates) are shared by using chopsticks.

What you'll have in a proper Chinese family meal (at least in most of the South, where rice is the main food) is, depending on how many are eating together, there will be a number of dishes (meat, fishes, vegetable, etc) to be shared by all and your own portion of rice. You pick from the dishes to put what you like to eat with the rice.

So the general etiquette is whatever you put on your own bowl to eat, you need to finish it. It's very bad manner to pick something, have a bite and then toss it aside. That's what Chinese mothers would never allow their kids to do.

Also, it's important to finish your portion of rice. In some families you get from the rice cooker the quantity you want; if it's done for you by someone else and you think the bowl of rice is too big, you should say something before digging into it. It's considered good manner to do so as if at the end you still feel hungry, you can always "refill". If you're in a restaurant and you have no control of the quantity given to you, say something first (like, "can I share a bowl of rice with someone, I am not too hungry", etc).

As long as you finish your rice, it's not any single person job to finish all the dishes. Left over is not considered a big etiquette problem, though the person responsible for cooking (or ordering in the restaurant) should have a good sense of what's enough.

It really does rub me the wrong way when they get it ALL WRONG in games with cultural references.  ;)

8 out of 11. Some of the questions are just stupid, like "dinner" in Scotland. That's about language, not culture really.

Doesn't the language reflect on a culture?

My maternal Grandmother was from Finland and we were eating all day long. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, supper, dinner...

Not that we were porkers, they were extremely active, working a farm and trailer park. Up before dawn and in bed when the sun went down...

now, we eat about two meals and a snack in between....we don't even label the events as breakfast, dinner, just.."are you ready to eat?"

that was indeed  a fun test.

the "left hand " thing in Iran is about toilet practice...you eat with the right hand and "wipe" with the left.  I think they probably cut off your hand if you dont eat with the right hand.
