Possible to work temporarily in UAE?

Hi all!

Can anyone help providing information on wether it’s possible to enter and work temporarily in Dubai being hiv+?

I’ve read there are restrictions, and that an hiv test is standard for requesting residency. Positive individuals are deported. How up to date is this?

I am on treatment and undetectable for years.

Is it possible to access treatment there? Is it possible to bring your own meds?

Hi,

Rules are still applied and its clear. For expats, you cant issue a work permit without HIV negative test. Any ELISA positive test will be deported immediately in a dehumising settings.

Nonetheless, You can bring your own medication if you are on a visit or a short stay related to work which does not require issuing a permit.

Hi, I decided to forfeit work/residency in UAE for this reason. Unfortunately there is no way around it - annual health check and HIV test. For short visits though, you can bring your own meds and should not worry. Just do not mention anything.
