So the Holidays are starting for many of us and I am just wondering what people are planning to eat over the festive season?
I'll be doing Mustard Soup & Roast Beef for Xmas day and for New Years ill be frying up "Oliebollen" again same as last year,

my Christmas cut-out cookies are making a big hit with friends and co-workers this year. I'm just glad our new kitchen (we have now paid the first year of our 60 yr mortgage) has nearly 12 ft of counter space so the cooking/decorating process has been a lot easier than when we were only renting and had 2 ft of counter. This was the first of 4 batches I cooked up.....so far. LOL

My mom and I made melomakarona (It's a Greek cookie that we make with orange and honey cinnamon syrup that is made every Christmas In Greece). It smells incredible and you can't just eat one but all of them .
I don't have a picture of them because they already vanished......
My grandma tends to make baklava Which is filo pastry with sugar syrup and nuts (I don't like it btw haha). Another thing will probably be Turkey soup (thickened with eggs). My grandma in general makes really awful food (sorry grandma) and claims she taught my mom to cook haha.

In Greece they make baklava soft and nice, but my grandma puts a lot of butter on that thing it crumbles instantly. Too much butter and too flaky.
My uncle's wife promised me she will make tomato pie (Which Is with filo pastry layered pie) and I'm quite excited for that, since the one my mom makes has so much salt and tomato it makes a hole on your stomach and a boulder on your kidney ......

Too much butter will do just fine :)
Interesting, I've never heard of tomato pie ... let me know how it turns out. I presume the tomatoes are on the sweet side when baked?

No,she makes them with red peppers and feta. It is my fave.

I dislike eating meat poultry and seafood so I'll probably just eat veges and salad on the day.
I'm making a chocolate coated icecream log that has Christmas pudding crumbled up and refrozen
into the icecream. It's a new one for me summer pudding used to be my go to dessert.

I bought a goose for christmas dinner. My teenage kids ate some . then i made a soup stock from it . I liked it . the kids did not want the soup. My wife tried a bite of the goose . it was sort of a beefier version of duck . I cut of the breast and broiled it to crisp the skin . then cooked the rest of it in the oven . I liked it and alwasy wondered how goose tasted
the kids being teenagers are being very independent and want to make their own meals . they eat microwave hot pockets and burritos. they say they are tired of my cooking . I believe it is because they are teenagers want to assert their independence.
that was my christmas holiday
