Creatinie level - i'm confused
« on: July 02, 2008, 03:38:52 pm »
hi , wrote before that I got creatinine blood test with 1.43 2 weeks ago, the top normal level on that test was 1.2 - my dr. wanted me to do some tests to check why it got high so I took the new testes 2 days later during this time I treid to drink a lot specialy carrot ... so I took the test and I got 1.3 (got down from 1.43), then I decided I will continue with the carrot juice every day + wheat grass and yesterday I took another blood test, at another place , today I got the resuolts and it was 1.1 but with top normal leve of 0.95.... my question is , if the 1.1 creatinine of my new blood test is avarage to the 0.95 OR if the 1.1 is a "fix" level regarding to the specific scale of this clinic ??? did my creatinie really go down OR is 1.1 is still high cause on that test the max was 0.95 so i am actually higher then normal ?

Hey Panda,

The answer to your question should come from your doctor.

I know the creatinine test is used to check kidney function. Creatinine is a waste product produced by the muscles and a high level of creatinine in the blood could indicate kidney trouble because the kidneys usually keep it at a particular level.

But the question you are asking is pretty particular so I would ask your doctor.

By the way, I drink 8 ounces of fresh carrot juice daily. I love the stuff and prefer it over orange juice or other juices.

It is very good for you, but I don't think it is a cure for high creatinine levels.

So, like I said, I would see a doctor to find out what he/she thinks is going on. I also would keep myself well hydrated. Proper hydration is critical to good health.

Good luck and let us know what you find out.

By the way, here is a link discussing creatinine levels and the tests.

Keep us posted.

HUGS,
