Hey Angel,

First, here is a link regarding hepatoxicity and the HIV meds:

http://www.aidsmeds.com/articles/Hepatotoxicity_7546.shtml

Your levels are high. Have you talked to your doctor about this? Is he/she concerned?

I would definitely set up a doctor's appointment and have a heart to heart with your doc if you haven't already.

I have NASH (non-alcoholic steato hepatitis) caused by the meds. There is nothing I can do about it, but I do monitor it and there is some hope on the horizon.

Oh, by the way, I know Stocrin, but have never heard of duovir. Do you know what other names that med goes by?

The meds have a way of messing with us, so I would not let this just lay there. I would get on the horn to the doc.

HUGS,

Mark

hi Angel,

I was diagnosed with a fatty liver and slightly elevated liver function tests before I started any hiv meds.  I had a biopsy just to make sure that was all that was going on before starting meds.  I take sustiva and truvada and not only did my liver function return to normal after being on the meds, my counts have been really good.

I agree with Mark and talking to your doctor is a good thing.  Let us know how it goes!

Duovir = Combivir =AZT + 3TC = zidovudine + lamivudine.

Sustiva = Stocrin = efavirenz.
