10 Years Clean
« on: January 12, 2010, 11:41:52 pm »
1/13/2000 I stepped into rehab for the fifth and final time to quit heroin and cocaine. I haven't looked back and made a change in my life that has lasted. It took years to move from crashing on friends couches to having my own place. I've had a few health issues, ie HIV but I still keep a job and was promoted to manager and now make a great living and have a wonderful boyfriend that I've had for 7 years now. He is HIV negative and he treats me like I was too and love him so much words can't describe. So tomorrow I celebrate 10 years of a wonderful life and look forward to the next ten.

Yay! Congrats, positive influences always makes things easier. I'm pretty sure your boyfriend is a solid rock and it's always nice to have that kind of support.

Thanks everyone for your encouragement and support. I am proud to be one of the ones that made it. 1 in 10 heroin addicts stays clean. I've come such a long long way.
