1 Year on Treatment - You Can Do It Too!
« on: January 14, 2020, 02:25:09 pm »
Just had my 1 year check-up after starting meds. I was exposed in October 2018 I’m pretty sure.

Tested positive in November 2018 in the ’window.’

First appointment with ID doc in November 2018.

Started Biktarvy in December 2018.

No issues to speak of other than a slight increase in bilirubin - medically insignificant but being monitored.

Lost a few pounds - still riding my bicycle a LOT (about 600 miles a month) and credit that for shedding a few pounds and a BP of 116/62 and a resting pulse of 46. For a guy of 58 ”You’re in great shape.” says the doc.

My doctor said in my first visit ”Stick to the plan, die an old man.”

So if you're newly diagnosed, give yourself time to adjust.

Be patient.
Be practical.
Be honest.
Be gentle.

Get a plan. Stick to the plan.

TexasDragon,

Wonderful news with wonderful positive energy. It is nice that you're into some sport activities such as riding your cycle. it works wonders to your overall wellbeing.
