Cute title Netta.

Good to see you Paulette. I am glad it was a false alarm.

I am just pinging around I have one hour till I have to be at the airport and I am doing everything I can not to just go right now. LOL  I cleaned off the laundry couch and did all the cleaning I want to. Shoot the only thing left to clean is just nit picking cleaning. The house looks good. I fixed my hair and put makeup on and am wearing something other than my usual exercise clothes LOL I was going to put a dress on but that seemed just over the top. So I put jeans and a nice blouse.
I know, I am acting silly but I cant wait to see Billy.  ;D

Win-Nice picture! Enjoy your "reunion"  ;) ;)

Betty-I know what you mean about school and staying busy! Good luck with the Y.

Well the first day is over! I ended up having one student not show up. The other kids said she moved so now I have 30. The kids were pretty good, but it was the first day so we will see. All but 2 of the kids had their laptops with them and that wasn't too bad either. I have to work on learning all of their names now!  :) Tomorrow is another day!

Andrea, hun, I can't remember 6 names, let alone 30!  When I was teaching, I just called all the kids "honey" and "sweetie".  That way: #1, I didn't have to remember their names and #2, it kept me from calling them what I REALLY wanted to call them. ;)  I'm glad the 1st day went well.

Queen, glad to know you're still alive :P

Paulette, good to hear from you again.  How are your daughters doing?  We miss you, hun, stop in more often.

Not much going on today.  It rained all day long, so laundry was out.  I've gotta do all the shopping for Mim's party and so we can eat next week.  Other than that, I've pretty much played it lazy.

morning ladies,

i'm itching to write here, pun intended  >:( (more later).

Tendai, so its TB? Im glad he's finally treated. I think sharing the burden with your coworkers will help some. we dont call him dr Evil for nothing... what goes around comes around. Love ya.

Brandy good luck with your HW & school and all.

Betty good luck with the microeconomics coming up. (or is it macro?). I dont know anything about that, even though I am intersted in economics never studied it.

Paulette great to see you back and what a relief eh?!

Andrea hope it'll be a great school year for you.

Cindy I hear you with the commute. My dad spends 1.5 hours each way so 3 a day on what should be a 20 min ride at most. its a nightmare. I think they should make it illegal for parents to drop kids off and make everyone get the bus, its causing road rage as well and blocking the school area, I can't stand it when people have SUVs and large 4x4 just to drop their kids off and go to yoga and the mall, yuck. here people use bikes to take their kids and have 2-3 kids on one bike and sometimes a trailer with a baby in it as well.

Queen how did it go with the CT or have you not had it yet?

Netta great title, Ive never worn a pantsuit. It would look awful on me am sure.

Mom, I read Mini might be off Zerit, that would be amazing for her. whenever I read your home stories like the couch, I smile, it gives me hope somehow.

Wini youre looking gorgeous and I love your hair! Billy is a lucky fellow.

Tatenda I didnt realize youre in canada. whereabouts?

Angel, congrats on the upcoming wedding, where you moving to?

Snow... I forgt what you wrote, but I hope everything is OK. I think each lady should have a thread so I can keep up with everybody. Like a mini-blog.

Ann I forgot to write you before about the AII forum. I consider a good part of such forums as the "aids phobia area". Did you know that aids phobia is in the official list of phobias defined in the DSM ("Bible" of psychaitry). At least the qustions here revolve around some kind of sex.

I mind the phobics less (I also answered Qs on such a forum but I stopped), some of them have started asking for help with their phobia which is a good step in recognition of it as the problem rather than HIV. But I eventually stopped answering b/c I cant stand men who go to sex slaves and we have plenty of those at home. Yes sex slaves not sex workers. Foriegn, illegal women without a passport, locked up and transported like cattle without a choice. Yes there are also free willed prostitutes but a good part did not even choose to be that and if they did, they didnt choose to be locked up and repeatedly raped by pimps and clients. Oh sorry did I say clients? that makes them rapists. I also despise sexpats. I have met lots of charming articulate sexpats but at the bottom line you are what you do. I know you're supposed to help everyone indiscriminantely. I did but then I thought fuck it, why should I help them. We are not the same. They are in fact the enemy.

went on a bit of rant there... I had a very unpleasant experience with the gyno yesterday. BF was there so I know its not in my head... turns out we have been trying to get pregnant for 11 months with no results. I had no idea its that long, so they're sending us to fertility clinic. but that's not the story. She was giving me a PAP smear, this gyno specilizes in HIV so she comes to the ID unit once monthly. anyway it really hurt and I was even bleeding, so when it was done I asked her why is it that at home my gyno (who is a man) never hurt me, she said it was b/c they use a plastic disposable instrument rather than the metal one, b/c I am poz. whatever, I don't think cold metal is anymore pleasant than plastic. But then I asked her if she used any lubricant. She said she used water from the tap in the room. Ouch, no wonder it felt so scrapy. Then I asked her if water was clean enough, and she said "but your vagina is dirty". I did not pursue further if its dirty b/c of HIV or just cos vaginas are dirty and filthy in general.
Well dirty or not, it is certianly itchy and tender.

Too bad this woman is the one who will be responsible for my pregnancy and delivery and taking care of the baby... as she is the one and only expert here. If my BF were not there I might have left crying, her whole demeanor was just so rude. Next time I'll just pick some builder or bus driver off of the street and ask them to do my PAP smear, I'm sure they'll be a lot gentler. And kinder.

OK ladies have a great day. sorry if I missed anyone, lots of love to all

Good morning ladies

Drag - my brothers well on the road to recovery thank God.  he's up and walking a bit and talking up a storm, more like his old self. man am i relieved.
what is wrong with that doctor of yours. its too bad shes the only one there maybe thats why she thinks she can be as rude and rough as she pleases. sorry you had to go through that. Gosh my coworkers have been talking about nothing but Dr evil since they came in, complaining very bitterly indeed. hopefully when he pays us this month it will be proper money

Paulette - good to see you. glad it was a false alarm.

Wendy - hope u enjoyed your reunion

Brandy - good luck with school, i have to say i dont envy you though...

andrea - if i were u i think i'd have to stick name tags on the kids :)

my little sister may be moving out of our place. she was offered a job back where we grew up and she might be taking it.  which means i'l be left alone.  theres time i wished i lived alone coz she is one of the untidiest people on earth and it drove me crazy but now that she might actually leave, im not so sure i want to be alone. oh well. it may be my chance to make some changes in my living arrangements

stay well everyone!

Ok Drag, that sounds totally ridiculous! I have NEVER heard of such a thing! First of all why would a doctor use tap water? Secondly, the vagina is not dirty. It is self cleaning. I would NOT go back to that doctor and I would talk to another one about it. I don't know a lot about it but it seems to me that something is off. If they are using a metal "scraper" how do they steralize it? With tap water? Ughhh! I am so annoyed for you!

Ok so enough of that....

I am SOOOOOO tired this morning! I forgot how worn out I could get from work!

Mum- I totally know what you're saying. I call them "ladies" and "gentlemen" or "young man" and "young lady". What I really want to say sometimes is, "Hey, Ding Dong..." LOL! Of course right now they are all pretty good. There is one however that I already know is going to be the troublemaker but I'll nip that...hopefully :)

Tendai, I agree. Being alone can be nice. No one to bother you.

Angel, where area you at now?

Queen, how is the cat walking going?

Betty, Good Morning!!!

Ok, gotta go and enjoy my coffee! Have a great day everyone!

Morning ladies,

There certainly was a lot of activity between the old thread and this one since I posted yesterday morning.  I don't remember everything from the other one, but I'll try.

Snow, I hope you had a nice time camping.  How'd it go?

Netta, love the title of the thread.  I hear you about something always needing to be done when you're trying to save money.  I always have that happen to me.

Paulette, glad that lump was alright.  I've had one biopsied (a year ago) that was normal.  When they biopsied the lump in my breast, the doctor knicked a blood vessel, and it bled for 45 minutes.  The doctor finally put a tiny metal clip in my breast, which is still there.

Wendy, I know you're happy Billy's home.  You look really good in your picture.  How's his father?

Brandy, yes, all the homework will pay off.  Just hang in there.

Andrea, I'm glad your first day went well.

Mum, I think it's going to rain here today.  I'm supposed to go to the HIV support group tonight, but I don't know if I even want to get out of my p.j.'s.

Drag, the dr. is ridiculous. Is there someone you can complain to?  And have your boyfriend verify the story?  That's just awful.  I probably would have told her off.  Is that really the dr. that's going to be in charge of your pregnancy/delivery?  There's no one else?   Please take care of yourself.  And you don't have to put up with that bullshit.

Tendai, it's hard when someone you love leaves "the nest" (even though I know that's not officially what your place is).  You might like living by yourself, though.

Angel, France, aye?  Wow.  That sounds exciting.

Well, I'm really not feeling well this morning. I feel like I've been through a war.  Tired and achey.  Maybe I caught something from one of the residents at the homeless shelter I volunteer at.  I hope not.  There's too many things to do.  This is going to be one of those suck it up and go on times.  It's certainly not as bad as what Wendy is going through.

I don't have anything exciting or newsworthy to report right now.  I hope you ladies have a good day. I'll probably be back later.

Yikes! I see I am not the only one dealing with incompetent docs.

Viv, I wasnt clear - this doctor uses a disposable plastic instrument, and she used water to "lubricate" it instead of the normal gel they use. They dont want to use the metal cos they dont want to sterilize it, which is stupid cos they should sterlize whether the woman is known to be HIV+ or not. Its like the dentists telling me to come in last so they can sterlize after me, makes you wonder how well they normally sterilize their instruments doesn't it? But anyway water is not only a crap lubricant but not really clean is it? I cant change her though, she is the only doctor in charge of all the poz ladies and they dont even let us go to the normal gyno clinic but come to the ID ward for us.
I dont have to see her again till I get pregnant though, I'll be in fertility till then. No use complaining, it will only backfire.

To think that I even showered that morning to make it nicer for her...
My BF didnt analyze it too much like I do here, he just calls her a bitch...  8) he doesn't consider vaginas dirty, poz or not  :).

Betty I hope you feel much better very soon and pls get some rest if its the flu or something.

Viv, I wouldnt get through my days without tons of coffee. I practically shower in the stuff.

Tendai, could you get someone else to move in for sharing the rent and company? with all these power cuts its nicer to have someone I think. what kind of job did your sis get?

Angel, are you relocating permanently? which part of france? Im going to provence in a couple weeks, for work, I have only been to Paris and Normandy otherwise. Im guessing youre going south, escaping to the sun.

Snow, you are one awsome mom sleeping in the yard in a tent just to make the kids happy.

hope all you ladies are having a good day

Ok, I have obviously missed something, Drag you're preggers? How far along are you? And if so, I would definitely change your gyn. I didn't think they even used the metal speculums, I think they're called for your Pap. That almost sounds prehistoric. It makes me shudder and I have to get my Pap tomorrow. It was suppose to be yesterday but I didn't get my depo shot in the mail with my other meds. So, I'll be sliding my ass down in those stirrups bright and early. I also have my CT scan, I rescheduled it because I didn't have the gas to go.

Not doing much today, I got up early and went to the food bank. I got a few things but a lot of things I couldn't use so I am trying to pawn them off on someone else. They even gave me some Old Spice shower gel which made me laugh. And some coffee but I don't drink coffee. I made her take back things with sugar in them, she kind of looked at me funny til I explained to her that I am diabetic.

It's been a bit chilly the past few days so I haven't taken Lucifer out on the leash though he has been by the door begging to go out. I know the minute I would let him out alone, someone would take him. He's somewhere around here sleeping.

I am seriously considering joining this women's group I talked about in my previous post. I just hope someone shows up. The last time they tried to do a group, no one came but is hoping this will be different since it is just for women. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

I downloaded a bunch of games to keep me occupied and I'll prolly go get on them later. One is even to help me learn spanish. I feel so jipped culturally being half Puerto Rican and can't really speak Spanish.

Drag - Your GYN is obviously in the wrong profession if she things vaginas are dirty. I would be so offended if she referred to my vagina as dirty. She would have gotten an earful from me for sure.

I know some ladies don't wash themselves proper. Either from not washing when they bathe because god forbid they touch their own body or using douche which strips your vagina of its natural lubricants, distorts the normal pH balance, and makes you more vulnerable for infections.

I'm not sure if I read you right. Did you say she used the same speculum on previous patients with the only cleaning between being from soap and water?
If so I wouldn't let her near my cootch again. God knows what kind of bacteria she could be introducing to your vagina. And to cause you to bleed from a simple pap is ridiculous. <shakes head>
Next time you go in bring some lube with you and hand it to her. Say just in case you did not have any I'd like you to use this.
You'd think someone with a vagina of there own would know it hurts to put things in a dry hole.

duh

I am angry for you. Would like to kick that lady in the butt and ask her where her brain was. You don't hurt the cootch. No sir. Its a shame you could not use a midwife. I used one with my first pregnancy it was a great experience. OK I'm done ranting about pussy...

I'm feeling super dooper. The abdominal pain is so minimal I can almost completely ignore it.
I had a fun filled exciting evening at home with my love.  Unfortunately he had to go to work this morning so I could not have a freaky shag-a-licious day with him. LOL

Everything is peachy in Wendyville.  ;D

Afternoon ladies,

Drag, I would have said something to the doctor about using some K-Y.  Ugh.  And if my doctor would have said something about my vagina being "dirty" I would have read him the riot act.  Is this the first time you've seen this woman?  And did she run some tests?  If so, when will you get the results?

Queen, what a story to read before you go for your pap.   Good luck, with the CT scan also.  I hope there are some women at the support group.  I think that would be great for you to meet some new people.  Food banks, heh.  I know what you mean about getting food you won't use.  Sometimes the food is just so gross, I throw it out.  Off-label chili with no beans-yuck.  I wouldn't give that to a dog.  I think some people think just because one's poor, one will eat anything.  But, I do get some good stuff also, so I can't complain.

Wendy, I am soooo happy your tummy pain is going away.  That's got to feel so good.  What a relief.

Well, I'm just waiting until 5:30 so I can go to the HIV support group here.  It's very sparsely attended.  We're supposed to have a picnic next Saturday (the 6th).  Even if there's only a few of us, it will be nice.    Nothing other than that.  My screen is having issues with this site or something.  There are some things in blue.  Strange.  It's not on any other site I go on; just this one.  Oh well, have a good evening ladies.

oh Wendy, you always make me laugh.
My V-Jay isn't smelly as far as the men who met it always let me know and I washed esp this morning for her. I have seen her before twice and she was always quite blunt and cold. No she didn't use the same thing, it's disposable. She's not that stupid. i suppose that comment was defensive, rather than wanting to say something about vaginas she said it b/c I doubted her use of water and it was some sort of comeback to save face for this wierd improv on her part. I don't think water is that clean and it certainly isn't a good lube.
She doesn't do the fertility thing so she referred me to the special clinic, but if I get pregnant I go right back to her cos she's in charge of that. I dont know which fertility tests they will run on me but BF will have to give them some sperm. First though, we have to fill a zillion forms and wait awhile, probabaly for insurance to try to get out of paying for it.

I'd much rather adpot one day than go thru fertility treatments but I doubt I'd be approved for that anywhere and not just cos of HIV. It's the fact of being 2 foreigners, newlyweds, with no property or fixed job that will no doubt be an obstacle. But first things first there may not even be a problem.

Betty, I certainly will bring some K-Y with me next time and offer her some to use on me instead of water. Who knows it might greatly improve her love life  ;D

Thank you so much for putting an evil grin on my face and getting me out of feeling a little downcast over this thing.
You don't mess with the kooch... or with the Thread Ladies, that's for sure!
 :-*

PS Betty I get the blue too, first thought something wrong but then realized it means there are new items in that forum you havent opened yet or within the forums there are new posts on the blue thread you havent read yet. The new font's much easier to read too.

Ok, I have to get use to this new format. It wasn't this way earlier when I came through. I guess I am just a person who likes to be forewarned about something changing. For a minute though I thought it was the green but I never has the green made me see things in blue before. Now acid back in the day, that's another story... ;D

Not doing much, played some of my games for a few, peeped my MySpace page---still waiting on Snow to help her with her page. I think I have turned into a MySpace junkie again. Doing a little blogging on it to but just about things that pop into my head, nothing special.

It is cold as hell today. I haven't had my ac on in a few days and actually had to close all of my windows.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, Drag. I still say find another gyn, that couldn't have been me, I would've raised holy hell and come close to bitch slapping her if she would've called my poonani dirty. You would think a female gyn would be more sensitive.

Everything looks pretty much the same on my screen except now my previously viewed links are blue.
I cant tell any other differences in the format. Maybe I'm just not being observant. ? ? ?

Drag - Maybe the fertility clinic wont be so bad. Maybe its just a matter of figuring out when you are cycling. ? I hope it turns out to be something simple.

LOL Don't mess with the cootch sounds like a catchy title.

Your right water is a sucky lubricant. Hell it isn't even a lube it washes away your natural slickness and laying on a table with your legs in stirups generally isn't conducive to making you wet.

Unless your freaky that way LMAO  ;D

Hi Ladies-
We are back from camping and I am exhausted.  It took me forever to fall asleep because my mothers snores to beat the band, then I had to get up and go to the bathroom and I got our dogs all riled up, then when I was trying to fall back asleep I heard coyotes, which freaked me out, BIG TIME!  So I was tossing and turning and ended up not getting much sleep at all.  It was nice though cuz my Dad showed up unexpectedly and my Aunt was there who was visiting from Ohio.  We cheated and started our hobo dinners in the oven and then finished them off on the fire :)

Win- Glad Billy is back safe and sound.  How is his Dad doing?  Your pic looks great, but you always look good in all your pics.

Drag-  That lady is a straight bitch.  The gyn I had ,that was trying to get me to have a hysterectomy, was like that too.  I hate that you had to go through and that and had so much pain.  Maybe if you go through fertility you can join me in mulitple club or we could start our own :)

Queen- I hope your appointment goes well and I will IM you if I see you on tomorrow.  I want to figure out how to put a song playlist on there, I put video by mistake.  Can I download my playlist to my phone?

Betty- Other than the aboved mentioned camping went well.  I wish we could have went for more than one day though, setting up and taking down tents is tiring.

Tatenda- One of my boys had glasses at 11 months.  My struggle was that he is a trip  let and his brother and sister wanted to take them off him and put them on themselves.  Your son/daughter ?(sorry, I can't remember right now) will most like adjust pretty quickly to them because thier eye sight will improve.

Viv- Sounds like you are off and running with school.  I can't imagine trying to remember 30 names, Hey Ding Dong would be right up my alley.

Sorry If I missed anyone, I am going to bed.  Sweet Dreams everyone!

oh Paulette, glad you test came back normal.

Snow, LOL, we tried the camping thing a couple of years ago.  it was SO not a pretty sight.  The kids wouldn't go to sleep, I ended up sleeping in the front seat of the van, #6 who was just a baby started rolling downhill toward the fire and I spranged my ankle trying to catch her.  She was laughing, i was dying.  We put everyone in the shower, packed up, and went home.  We planned on being gone 3 days (2 nights) and barely made it 12hrs.

Drag, you dirty little v-jay you ;).  BF came with you, you were up in stir-ups, and you couldn't figure out a way to get nice and lubed up?  I'll e-mail you a picture..lol.  I remember those fertility testing days SO well.  I have a funny story about Hubby's sperm testing day, but not sure anyone else would appreciate them.  I was put on Serephine with monthly progesterone tests that sucked big time.  Back in the day, there was a 3mth cap on fertility drugs and they didn't work for us.  Since then, they've come up with some really good stuff.  I'm just warning BF now to hide all sharp objects, do EVERYTHING you say without question, get some Viagra, and keep his mouth SHUT.  Otherwise, i'll not be responsible for what happens when you're on the fert-drugs. :o

Betty, how was your meeting tonight?  I think a picnic sounds like a wonderful idea.  I'm still praying for your schooling - and mercy from your miro-econ professor.

Queen, let us know how it goes, hun.

I'm exhausted and have tons to do before the party tomorrow night.  Love and sweet dreams to you all!

Thank you

Last I heard his dad was hanging in there. I believe he is bed ridden. He has several daughters and one of Billy's brothers is helpful so he is not alone. Plus they hired some medical people to come in at night.

His step dad's mother lives next door to him. She is 88 years old. The day Billy left he went over to check on her and she was laying on the couch with the back door wide open. He woke her up because it was really hot in the house and her asleep on the couch was odd plus he wanted to tell her he was leaving and give her his love, ect.
He got her door closed and turned the airconditioner on for her but she said she did not feel well and was going to stay there on the couch.
He told his sister that Old mama was not feeling well and asked her to check in on her. Long story short they went to check on her and she had fallen. She broke her leg, poor dear.
She has no short term memory and you know how older people can have memory problems. I hope she is able to heal from the fall. Sometimes older people never do recover from broken bones.

LOL Mum you are so saucy tonight.

Oh, Winni, when it rains it pours, doesn't it.  Are they going to keep Old Mama in the hospital until she's recovered enough to care for herself?  I'm glad that Billy's dad has people to look after him.  I know that puts Billy's mind at ease.  Will he go back soon, or wait a while?

Me, saucy, no....LOL.  I was trying to get Drag "saucy" :P

Up late eating a bowl of cereal cause my sugar crashed in my sleep.  I have a VERY vulgar mind right now as to what I would've said to that snatch doctor, Drag.   >:(  I agree with Mum and Wendy, bring lube and the BF next time, either should work!   ;)

Should be sleeping, so more tomorrow when I'm "awake."

Oh, and Drag, I don't even drive by a school on my commute, and I usually only stop for one bus picking up kids, if any.  Its just that every damn person is back in town from vacation, going to work, and clogging up the roads again!!!  Ugh!  Can you believe it?  Yesterday I left early only to hear my road was CLOSED in both directions in a rural area near my parents' house.  A horse trailer crashed under a train overpass and was too tall to fit under it!!

hiya

im in the UK at the moment and we are looking at a little hamlet closest major place is limoges in France.

Did something silly last night and started reading some of the literature that came in the post about HIV and the drugs and the side effects and I have now made myself panicking about it all.

I can have the worst mood swings ever and ive read about the drug they like to start on gives you mood swings and also nightmares, well I cant watch anything that isnt a kids film or a family film or I have nightmares anyway, so im stressing already about that.

I know your all going to say stop worrying because we arent on meds yet but well im me and I do worry, my mum reckons I was born worrying about something.

Steve is going mad at me telling me to stop reading things, but I cant help it I think forwarned is forarmed.

i've got my fingers crossed for Obama.  a lot of people here think he's going to be assasinated, very skeptical bunch. i was watching that show 24 about jack Bauer and the black president david palmer. kept thinking 'i hope that doesnt happen to Obama'. i know i lnow its just a show..

steveangel - i really think u need to talk to someone, (a professional counsellor or something)  about this, to help u cope and all.  im not on meds yet but i have read on them and the side effects and all, and i'll cross that bridge when i come to it. just trying to enjoy my health while i still have it..

drag - my sisters in human resources, not exactly sure what position she'll have, its not confirmed yet

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MINI!!!!!   I have the salsa made and cakes are in the oven.  At 6pm the family will gather and celebrate another year of her life and give blessings for the next year.  And, of course, eat.  I'm trying not to get too sentimental, but it's hard.

Cindy, did you know your face shows up on the Poz Personals ad at the top of the page?  Wasn't sure if you knew or not.  Last year the road slid into some guys cattle he ran at the bottom of the hill.  The only way around the construction was to either be out of the house before 6am when the crew started, or go 22 miles in the other direction - in the winter, in the snow, on horrible dirt roads. >:(  The road crews showed up to work to nasy messages on their equipment.  It wasnt' their fault about the road, but there was no one else to take out frustrations on. :-\

I need to keep this short.  I've got the house, laundry, and porch to finish up.  I'm hoping to post pictures of the party tomorrow.  Mini wanted a Mexican theme, so i went to the party store and got plastic margarita glasses.  We're going to rim them in Splenda and serve green kool-aide.  The kids won't get it, my cousin's kids might, but the adults will think it's funny.

Love to you all!

Happy Birthday, MINI!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Sounds like the party will be lots of fun!

Mum- Sorry I forgot about you last night. Did you start home-schooling already?

Netta-  I didn't watch Obama's speech last night because I started watching a documentary named Un-counted votes, something like that.  It was scary and sad, actually.  It was about how in certain areas, mostly black, latino, or where they thought the vote would be democrat.  They had problems with mis-counting, undervotes, long lines, voter intimidation, false information, no electricity in the building and the voting machines were computerized, some people waited in-line for 15 hours!  The whole thing makes me think that Kerry might have had a chance and Bush wouldn't have won either of his elections.  Did you send away for the free Obama button and bumper sticker?  If I still have the e-mails I can send the info to you if you want(and anyone else that is interested :) )?

Win-Sorry to hear about Old Mama.

Steveangel- I am a natural born worrier too and I have found that if I don't read too deeply about all the side effects and that kind of stuff, I feel better.  Sometimes your mind can play tricks on you and make you feel worse than you really do.  A little hamlet in France sounds beautiful and I am not even sure what a hamlet is?

Ten- When are you going to find out if your sister is moving out or not?

Moon- I hope you have a good day at work!

Betty- How have you been feeling?  How are your knees?

My oldest son is starting school on the 2nd.  The trip  lets start the 8th. I have to go and meet their teachers on the 4th and they made appointments with 2 different teachers at the same time?  This happens to me all the time and makes me insane.  I have to clean, clean, clean and clean some more today.

I was trying to do a little animated thing for Mini and I screwed it up (Suprise, Suprise) so please excuse the garbled mess at the top of this message.

hey snow, im still deciding. i dont think i can afford to move from where i am esp if i'll be paying rent all by myself.  i wish i could move with all my heart but its all about the money. cheapest decent place starts at 100US$ a month and i dont even earn 50 bucks so there u go.  and i cant let someone move in with me coz the rooms dont have doors between them so there'll be zero privacy and i have to go into my sisters room to get to the kitchen so that wont work if im staying with someone im not that intimate with.
good luck with the cleaning and appointments and school stuff!

Hey Ladies--

Well, the Pap went on without any problems. I was in and out within 15 minutes. He was telling me that in three years I will have to get a bone density test. Asked me what meds I was on and then you know the rest....

I also called my clinic nurse to see if the test came back yet, to see if I have an allergic reaction to the Ziagen. It's not back yet so I will just consider this a mini vacation and see how my counts hold up. I still have to go get my CT scan done at 12:30. I have puffed on a blunt and am hungry as hell. But I can't eat anything until after the scan. And right now I am craving some McDonald's fries.Mmmmm... ;D

Happy Birthday Mini
i've got my fingers crossed for Obama.  a lot of people here think he's going to be assasinated, very skeptical bunch.

Yep, I am one of them skeptics. Don't get me wrong, after seeing bits of the convention, I am liking him more. But it is about to get interesting McCain chose a female for his vice. Some chick who is governor of Alaska and involved in some type of scandal because she fired a trooper who was married to her sister. Now where is my bowl of popcorn? ;D

Queen- I hope your appointment goes well and I will IM you if I see you on tomorrow.  I want to figure out how to put a song playlist on there, I put video by mistake.  Can I download my playlist to my phone?

Snow, go to playlist.com. You can search for songs and make a playlist. It will give you a code to copy for MySpace. You just go into your profile and paste it where ever you want it. I'll be on a little later this afternoon. When I get back from scan, I have to pick up godson to move my furniture in my bedroom. He's bigun...So, say around 5ish?

That's about it for now. I'm going to play my game for a few before I leave for this appointment. TTFN

I haven't really paid too much attention to the democratic convention. That stuff bores me.
I did find it interesting to hear McCain chose a woman for his VP. I wonder if that was a strategy to get the undecided women voters who wanted Hillary.

I have not heard anything about old mama. I have wondered why she doesn't just live with her son since they are right next door too each other. But its not my place to say anything about it. He lives alone and she lives alone. Makes no sense to me.

Afternoon ladies,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MINI!
Mum, you give Mini a big hug from me and Poppy.  I hope things go well.  I love the idea you have for the "margaritas."  Cute.

Snow, I'm glad the camping went well.  My knees are the same.  I suppose the only way they'll ever be 1/2 normal is if I get replacements.  But, the more people I talk to who say they're in more pain now, the more I say "bring me the Jazzy!" (electric wheelchair)

Wendy, sorry to hear about old mama.  I hope she's alright. Poor thing.  You know, I remember you saying in another thread that you didn't know anything about the presidential candidates; the way to know is by watching things like the conventions.  Of course, Obama's is over, so that's too late.  It was exciting, you missed a good one.

Netta, Obama had my vote months ago.  And he still does.

Cin, sorry about your sugar crashing.  How's that insulin thing going?  What was it again?

Angel, the medication I think you're talking about is Atripla.  It's the Sustiva in it that can cause the type of side effects you're talking about.  I wouldn't worry about it.  You probably have a long time before meds.  I try not to worry about things I have no control over at the present.

Tendai, are you able to afford where you're staying?  Are you going to be alright?

Queen, good luck with the scan.  Did you hear about the two skinheads the secret service apprehended?  I think Obama has tons of security.

Hey Keeping and Drag.

I watched the Democratic convention last night and the night before (and also Bill Clinton's speech, boy did he kick ass).  Oh, McCain picked a woman to try to get to the women who were going to vote for HIllary (you're right on Wendy).  I haven't heard about the scandal involving the state trooper.  McCain's new running mate is very conservative though.  And she's against domestic partnership benefits for LGBT people and she's pro-life.  She's just a very big yuck.  I hope so much that Obama wins.  He's got good policies and when he gave his speech, he laid out his plan for how he would make things work.  I was cheering almost the whole time.  He's going to make a great leader (please God).  I would never vote for someone who voted with Bush 95% of the time, which McCain has done.  He couldn't even remember how many houses he has when asked.  He's just not good for our country.

Anyway, nothing exciting happening today.  I cleaned my apartment.  Right now my sister's on the phone, which is on my shoulder, trying to book a flight for me to go to Phoenix, AZ for Christmas.  I'm a bit nervous about it, but hopefully it will go alright.  I get terribly nauceous with things like that, so I'll have to take Dramamine beforehand.  I'll fly out of South Bend and have a bit of a layover in Detroit, then to Phoenix.  I don't know that I really even want to go, but my sister gets pretty lonely, so I will.      Anyway, nothing else going on.  I hope you ladies have a good day.
I've never killed anyone, but I frequently get satisfaction reading the obituary notices.-Clarence Darrow

Maybe not, but you need to decide who you think would be more adept to run this country.

Hi GFs~

Happy Birthday to Mini, although I thought her actual birthday was on August 30th?  Wish I was 8 again!   ;D

BT, not sure what insulin thing you're referring to?  I have been on insulin since 1981.  Had to STOP my pump (www.myomnipod.com) last March bec new insurance wanted $2000 out of pocket for the year, every year, to stay on it.  I am on shots now.

I am frustrated tonight GFs.  I am having so many damn motor probs its ridiculous.  I think its from being on Sustiva for 6 years.  I have ruled out everything else, with extensive testing in Spring 2007.

I read the Drug Lesson here tonight to be sure I had all of the facts.  I just think that this stuff is wearing on my CNS.  Not the buzz you get an hour after dosing, that stopped happening to me years ago.  I have motor function probs and visual perception probs.

I have had the following checked in the past 18 months and have been deemed "OK":

allergies (started daily meds March 2008)
diabetes (since 1981)
fibromyalgia (since 2001)
neuropathy (NONE)
stress test (no probs)
blood pressure (no probs)
neurologist visit (no probs)
nerve conductivity test (no probs)
ENT docs x 2 (no probs)
MRIs of brain x 5 (all clear)
rheumatoid arthritis (not detected)
lupus (not detected)
Lyme disease (not detected)
low iron (slight prob, supplement recommended)
anemia (not detected although I beg to differ)
B12 deficiency (no probs but I wonder)
vision (no probs)
anxiety (no probs)

Whew, enough already.   >:(    >:(    >:(    >:(

I DID read in the Lessons that motion sickness is a possible side effect from Sustiva, but from WALKING?  I am going to take Dramamine and also take the Sustiva earlier in the evening so its effects aren't as bad the next morning, if that's what this is.

I see my doc in October.  I think I'll put all this in a new thread this weekend and get some feedback.

How long has Sustiva been around anyway?  I started it Labor Day 2002.  Happy Anniversary to the stuff, huh?   :-\

Evening Ladies----

I made my appointments today. The CT scan was a breeze, they just shot some stuff in my IV that made me have a severe hot flash and felt like I pissed myself. But it was gone before I could complain about it.

Today was my small check so I am broke already after paying people back and putting gas in the car. Oh, I did pay my electric bill which was, get this...$1.88. Not a typo, I am in a program that pays a certain amount of the bill and I went over by $1.88. You should've seen how fast I went to pay it.... ;D

I am actually all gung ho for Obama. The Convention changed my thoughts on that, though I did not know of any attempt. But I predicted it would happen. It's not the green talking all the time... :D McCain having a female VP was nothing but game like Wini said. I haven't voted in years but I'll get my ass up for Obama. ;) Though I regret missing Bill and Hillary's speech.

I have to be up because the landlord is showing the building. So, I did some light cleaning, not much to do since I live alone..*jumping for joy* So, I will have to turn in a little early which I seem to be doing a lot lately.

Queen, I had my first CT last June when I had broccoli's revenge, as I now call it.

I kinda liked that warm pee feeling, lol.  The room they had me in was ice cold!

It WAS weird, though!  :D

Glad your utility bill cost you less than a gallon of gas in the tank!

Cindy, I'm not sure how long it's been around, but it was part of Mini's genotyping done in Jan 2002 and she was put on it in February 2002 and taken off in Feb. 2008.

Thanks for the birhday wishes.  Her birthday is today (30th), but her party was last night.  We'll end up celebrating it all weekend..lol.  She's way too much her mama's child ;).  She now has her own sewing machine, sewing kit, and cross-stitch kits.  Maybe we'll go into business together.  Now our youngest son wants one..lol..he's already got his own vacuum (yes, a real one) and he's getting a real lawn mower for Christmas.

I need to take a shower and get my tribe fed and ready for a day of shopping.

Love to you all!

Hi GFs~

Still waiting it out to see if Cheech's cough improves.  I really think its allergies, which he has anyway.  A long walk last weekend prob exposed him to more grasses, which are irritating him.  This happens every August, but never with a cough.

BTW, Mum, yes, I know my pic is still flashing up there for the Personals   ;D  They never took it down, and that's fine by me.  My ad was discontinued even before I met Ice.

I started a new thread in "Treatment and Side Effects" regarding my motor function probs.  I am hoping some of the LTS's or anyone who has been on Sustiva for awhile can relate.  I don't know what to do!

Good Morning Ladies
hope everyone is good! me not so much if any of you have read my story then you know the my oldest came to live with me a couple months back we discussed that although she was about to turn 18 which she has now that there would still be rules to follow and once we got her into college there would be even more rules concerning getting homework done etc. . . well things have been good she hasn't meet to many people yet and I was feeling bad about that, then she met a young man who's 24 which I really feel is to old for her, grown men shouldn't want to date young girls just out of high school but I know they do and I have been letting her hang out with him because she is meeting lots of people, so last night she goes over there to hang out, the rule is she is to be home by the time I go to bed ever night she texts asking what time I'm going to bed because it varies depending on homework and stuff well last I wasn't feeling well so I told her at midnight. . . . Midnight rolls around no Brianna. . . 1 am still sign . . .  2 then 3am no word ( now I'm really freaking out not even a call) Ive been texting and calling since 1:30am no reply and calls go straight to voice mail at 5am still nothing My boyfriend is up getting ready to leave for work I so worried I'm sick he tells me to relax she was most likely out partying and past out and will be home later( not that, that made me feel any better) it is now 10:15am and not a f in word no call still not answering the cell phone although its no longer going to her voice mail right off. I have all this horrible stuff going though my head I'm worried sick,I just don't get it, if she got drunk fine we talked about this that I don't want her to be drinking shes not 21 yet but that I would rather a call if she did then nothing at all we even talked about the staying out all night that a simple text to let me know she was okay. BUT nothing am I over reacting I don't know I'm scared and mad and a ton of things are going through my head.
The person you educate today maybe the one you save tomorrow :)

Cindy have you asked your doctor about switching meds?

Queen I didnt get the sense I was peeing. It felt more like my crotch suddenly had its own heater.
Firecrotch LOL

I found a cool spider this morning in front of my house. I took pictures and made a musical slide show to amuse myself.

Ahhh crap my font just got huge on all my screens.

Brandy - I got that crap from my kid plenty of times. She likely is avoiding you so she doesn't have to hear you bitch. Since her phone is no longer going straight to voicemail she is most likely fine but trying to figure a way out of trouble.

Afternoon ladies,

Wow, a lot's happened.

Cin, I would definitely talk to the doctor about changing meds.  I can tell you that I've taken Sustiva a couple times and stopped it both times due to CNS effects.  They (the side effects) drove me absolutely crazy, so I stopped it (talking with my doctor about another med to switch to of course).  That's my opinion.  To tell you the truth, I can't remember how long Sustiva's been out.

Andrea, I'm glad you made it through your first week.

Queen, glad the CT scan went well.  And I'm glad you had a low electric bill.  That's a relief.  I'm also all geeked up for Obama.  I didn't hear Hillary's speech (damn it) but I did hear Bill's (he kicked ass).  I'm glad you're going to vote.  It's important.

Netta, I had to borrow money the last time I got work done on my car.  I'll be paying that back when I get my student loans in either October or November (hopefully).  Oh, I didn't watch Nancy Grace about Caylee, but I hear the mother is not being any help since being bailed out.

Tendai, omg.  What did you do?

Brandy, I did that when I was a teenager, my daughter did it when she was a teenager.  I agree with Wendy.  She's probably trying to think of a good story to tell you.  I know you can't help but worry though.  I'm sure it'll be alright.  Just try to keep a semi-cool head when she shows up.  Fighting and angry words only drives someone away.

Wendy, I'm extremely phobic of spiders.  Yesterday when I got in the shower, there was a very small one in there.  I almost screamed, but instead I smashed it and let the water wash it down the drain.  Yuck.

I'm going to cook a pork steak on the grill in a few minutes.  As soon as I'm done posting here I'm going to start the grill.  I also have some corn-on-the-cob I'm going to put in the microwave.  I've had the pork steak marinating since this morning, so it should taste pretty good.  It's been marinating in A-1 sauce, because I love that stuff.

Tonight is an NA speak-a-thon thing I'm going to with my best friend.  I talked to another one of my good friends on the phone this morning.  She just had two discs taken out of her back and two plastic ones put in.  They opened her up in two places on her abdomen and also went in through her back.  Yuck!  (did I already tell you guys this).  I'll tell you, my memory is getting worse.  I hope it picks back up before school starts, which is in just a few days.  Anyway, that's my day so far.  I'm going to fire up the grill.  You ladies have a good day.

Now I'm sitting here bare foot, wondering if there are creepy crawly spiders running around......hee hee!

I plan on speaking to my doc about a switch or something.  Philly posted in the thread and suggested PN may be the culprit.  I had two docs check me for it, but they weren't HIV docs.  The new HIV doc I have is wonderful, so I am going to ask a million questions when I see him in October.

Betty~  What problems did you have with the Sustiva?

Who here is on Nuerontin?  Its an anti-convulsant......damn, this is unnerving.  Sometimes I actually feel like I am going to lose control with these episodes.  Ever play Guitar Hero and get that light-headed, unbalanced feeling when you see all of the notes flying at you on the screen?

That's how I feel, to the umpteenth power.  I do NOT want to fall over at work.  I kind of brushed up against the wall in a hallway the other day to steady myself, its getting worse, but nothing profound yet.

I hope to find a solution, you know me "Detective Girl" here.

I am totally fascinated with spiders as long as they aren't crawling on me. I don't freak out if its a little one on me but I think a big one might freak me out a little.

I never kill spiders I take them outside.

Cindy - I dont know how you manage. Sounds like a bitch of a problem you have.

I heard its bad luck to kill spiders, I usually find them lurking in my bathroom near the drains.  :D

Yeah, I don't know how I manage either.  I am so exhausted.  My cover is going to be blown soon if I tip over at work!  Its amazing how people look at me at work, and then if I say I can't move something, or I need help, they look at me sideways.  There are a couple of real bitches there, but they are the stupidest people of all.

Wouldn't it be funny if I had a doctor's note for the next time they thought I was complaining and couldn't do something strenuous?  :D  I'm so damn stubborn, I try anyway.

Betty, (or anyone on Sustiva) did you get really sensitive to temperature, and find it really hard to cool down?

No, I'm not "flashing....."    yet.

Wini I'm coming to your place for dinner.  :D

Win- That spider looks pretty big to me.  I am OK too as long as hey are not going to crawl on me.  Did I tell you guys when my Mother and I took the kid swimming a couple of weeks ago, there were snakes in the water, well 2.  It was gross!  Did you happen to post your enchilada recipe in the recipe forum? I would really appreciate it if you did,  I have always wanted to try them.

100Proof- I agree with everyone else.  I know you must be freaking out.  I hope she comes home or calls soon.

Betty-  I just remembered you asked about cooking a pork steak.  What exactly is a pork steak?  I love A1 too.  Have you tried the Jack Daniels steak sauce?  That is yummy, too.  Have fun tonight!

Mum- Hope you had fun shopping!

Queen- I think it would be more embarassing if he pooped anywhere except his liter box.  I have a closet shiter, I take her out a gazilion times a day and she still shits in the house.  I tried to have my son take a pic of her the other day on the way to my Moms house but the dog is black and so was my shit so it didn't come out.  Anyway, she rode up on my shoulders between my neck and the backrest.  I had a cat once that would get up on my shoulders but never a dog.

Ten-  That is kinda creepy.  What did happen?  Inquiring minds want to know?  ;D

Moon- Hopefully, your ID doc can help you out.  The only reason I know anything about Guitar Hero is from you mentioning it here :)

I didn't do anything today except take a shower, shave my legs and condition my hair.  The kids have been playing outside all day.

Talk to you later.

Cindy - I wonder if any of them think you have a drinking problem LOL

I modified a chicken enchilada casserole recipe I have. I basically made the casserole but instead of layering with corn tortillas I placed the chicken mixture inside corn tortillas and shoved a ton of cheese in and on it.
I cooked the corn tortillas for a few seconds on both sides in vegetable oil to make them more durable.
If you don't they will break while you are stuffing them. I found that out the hard way.

Chicken Enchilada Casserole
4--5 chicken breasts
celery salt
onion flakes
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup sour cream
1 medium yellow or white onion diced
1-2 jalapenos seeded and diced
12 corn tortillas
4 ounces Mexican style cheese "or if not available swiss and cheddar mixed together"

Season chicken with celery salt and onion flakes. Wrap in foil and bake at 325 degrees for an hour.
Cut chicken into bite size pieces. Save the liquid in the foil .
In a pan sprayed with cooking spray cook onions and jalapenos until the onions get translucent. Add the soups, sour cream, reserved liquid from the chicken, and the chicken and mix.
Tear tortillas into bite sized pieces. Layer tortillas, chicken mixture and cheese twice ending with the cheese.
Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes or until bubbly

Ugh, just waking up from a nap. I got with my sister smoked a few and had a margarita. It kind of hit me around 2. I am guessing it's because I had been up since 8ish getting ready for the people to come show the house.

I never kill spiders because they eat other bugs. I was seeing big ass black beetles since I moved in. Because of the episode I went through with the last landlord, I bombed right after I moved in, no more beetles!!!!! I am still waiting on fuckface to give me back my deposit but he has until the 6th to do that. He doesn't even owe me a full deposit but I think he is going to try to stiff me for the rest.

Brandy--I agree with the rest of the ladies about your daughter but I understand your concern. And I would be pissed too because you had this discussion with her about curfew. But if you bitch too much, you might just chase her right into the 24 yr olds arms. I am dying to hear what her excuse is going to be. She may try to say her battery died on her phone.

Wini-- I am going to have to try that recipe once I go shopping. I love spicy food.

Cindy--Yeah, my doc wanted to put me on neurontin but I didn't like the side effects that come with it. So, I just soak my feet when they hurt. My doc said my off balance is being caused by the nerves endings going dead in my right foot so when I go to get up or walk, I lose my balance some times. I can deal with the balance but not the feeling that my feet feel like they're going to fall off.

Not going anywhere else the rest of the evening. I am in chill mode.

she came home around 1:30pm I told her that I was worried and then I was mad but right I'm glad she is okay and we'll we talk later when things have calmed down and for now she was grounded until I tell her she's not! she say that there was some drinking but SHE only had a little but the 24 yr old got really drunk and was sick and she was being a good friend by taking care of him and his things until everyone left after which She " fell asleep on his couch " and her phone was about to die so she turned it off! some of which maybe true the phone thing is a flat out lie because I'm looking at the bars now its half full and it isn't on the charger so. as it stands we will talk about it this evening when the whole family can sit down and talk about! I haven't had a chance to read how everyone is doing hope all is well

Wini-- I am going to have to try that recipe once I go shopping. I love spicy food.

Its not spicy. Kind of kid friendly. But you could add some hotter peppers to make it spicy.

Hey everyone! Hope you are all staying cool. It has been kind of humid here and I started leaving the air on all night and I like it! :) Vivian likes it too! LOL! She stays in the bed w/me when it's on. Normally she starts on the bed and ends up on the floor. I have wood floors and it is much cooler. I am in the middle of doing laundry...BORING!!! HATE IT!!!

All this talk about spiders. I don't mind them as long as they don't crawl on me.

Queen- Is the landlord looking to sell the building you are in? If he does that won't effect you will it?

Snow-Is the recipe forum still there? I loved that thing. I got many ideas from there

Brandy- Wow! Maybe she is totally rebelling and testing her boundaries. My sister would probably do something like that. I never did that but then I was afraid of getting in trouble. I was a good girl! I just skipped all the typical teenage stuff and waited till my 20's to start seeing a guy in secret (Mr. Wonderful) and get pregnant. No one in my family saw that coming! Anyways...I hope things work out with you and your daughter.

Betty-What is pork steak? Yeah, I'm glad I made it through the first week. I'm happy now that I am back at work.  :)

Wendy-You are so good at all the computer stuff. Now that the kids have 1-1 laptops we've had to learn so much. I've found that I really don't know how to do much. I guess if I was more interested in the computer I would be more apt to learn. The kids can teach me! I do know how to do Power Point and Movie Maker though...YAY for me...LOL!

Cindy- This problem has been going on for so long now. The doctors still have no idea what it is huh? I remember you mentioning Menear's Disease (sp?) My mom's friend has that and when she gets and attack it's bad. I think she take Valium for it. I feel really blessed that I am pretty healthy except for the obvious... :(

Well ladies, that's all I have. I am sure you will all enjoy your 3 day weekend, I know I am!

Andrea

Oh, Wendy-Is the hurricane coming your way?

I'm too close to Oklahoma to get any thing serious with a hurricane. I hope to see some rain but you never know. Dallas is in the upper right area of Texas. There are hundreds of miles between me and the gulf.

Thanks, Win.  I think my kids would love that.  I am going to try it in the next week or so.  ;D

Evening ladies,

Cin, when I took Sustiva it made me dizzy, I got anxiety attacks, I could hardly get out of bed in the morning, and I was very depressed.  I do take Neurontin.  In fact, I take 800 mgs 3 x a day.  I have no side effects at all.  I got tons more side effects with Sustiva than I do with Neurontin.  And the Neurontin controls my neuropathy quite well.  Some people are leary of Neurontin because it can cause drowsiness.  But that's only when you first start it.  I've been on Neurontin since the middle 90's from getting neuropathy from AZT, ddI etc.   Not on the dose I am right now, but the diabetes also makes neuropathy worse, especially if it's not controlled.  Everyone reacts differently to meds.  I try to remember that.

Wendy, that chicken enchilada casserole sounds so good.   Hey, when you put the spiders outside, do you say "Buddha thanks you?"  I have a friend that does that.

Snow, a pork steak is a certain cut of pork I suppose.  That's what it's called.  It turned out really good.  I made corn-on-the-cob in the microwave and a baked potato (in the microwave).  I have another pork steak in the frig I might grill out tomorrow.  I'm not sure yet.  Oh yeah, I've had Jack Daniels bbq sauce.  It is good.

Andrea, I'm glad you're happy with your classroom.  I think being happy at work is important.

Well, I'm back from the speak a thon.  It went well.  There was a main speaker who has 5 years clean.  She did a good job.  Other than that, nothing else happening.  I hope you ladies have a good evening.

Ok, I am having a fit because I am having technical issues with my games. I have been doing everything possible to try to fix it because I really don't want to have to get on the phone with someone from India. It happens to me all the time. I did email them but it may take 24 hours to get a reply which means I may not hear from them til freaking Tuesday. I may be forced to call... :-\

"Queen- Is the landlord looking to sell the building you are in? If he does that won't effect you will it?"

No, not at all, with us being on Section 8, we are guaranteed money. And they saw both of our apartments and know we are clean. Not sure when we will find out if they bought it. My landlord likes to send all his tenants memos on things. Which is nice, just not use to it.

Its not spicy. Kind of kid friendly. But you could add some hotter peppers to make it spicy.

That is a must, it has to be spicy. I am always buying hot peppers when I go shopping and likes eating jalapenos out the jar.

Well, I am off to do more trouble shooting...

P.S. Brandy--I told you she was going to use the phone excuse. And how adult of the 24 year old to pass out at his own party. Would've served him right if he did get robbed but kinda hard to knock her for being a friend, shows you raised her right.

Good evening, my preciouses - is that even a word?  LOL..it is now!  My littlest man crawled into bed with me and fell asleep, so I'm sitting in my bed typing in the dark so I don't wake him up.  He's such a mama's boy ;D

Shopping went well.  We had to stave off cousin's kids who thought they were entitled to any and everything they put their hands on.  "But my daddy..."  "Do I LOOK like your daddy?"  "If it bothered me not that your happy little butt was going to starve, why do you think it would bother me to leave your yelling flailing butt in this store and walk away?"  I know, I know, they've had it rough.  Well NOBODY is doing them any favors by giving into them and trying to buy  them happiness.   I wanted to knock my cousin (and my aunt and uncle) upside the head and yell "BE A PARENT ALREADY!"

Ok, whew, that felt good ;D.

Moving along, I took the girls to the fabric store to pick out some snuggle flannel so I could make them new PJ pants.  And, yes, I bought the girl some, too. Good grief, I'm not totally heartless.  Then, we ran a few more errands, bought all the kids icecream, and brought them home.  Mini wanted to get into her birthday presents and learn how to cross-stitch.  To make a very long story short, it took her 35 minutes to get 8 stitches done.  I didn't take into account how painfull it would be to teach a dyslexic with no one-to-one coorespondence (counting skills) or short-term memory skills, AND fine motor difficulties how to cross-stitch.  I even started her out with a stamped project to get her used to the movements and make things easier and less stressful.  BULL CRAP!  I was ready to pull out my hair and thank goodness that after those 8 stitches it was time for me to start dinner.  Of course after church tomorrow, we have the whole rest of the day.  YEAH!  Maybe she'll finish the butterfly - she's only got about 20 more stitches to go ::)  Then we move on to the fun part - the other 500 stitches :o.  My cross stitching is my therapy.  Her cross stitching is going to put me IN therapy.

If you are a fan of James Patterson, I just finished his latest book "Step on a Crack".  In it he introduces a new detective named John Bennett. The book is fabulous!!  I fell in love with the man when i read on the back cover that Bennett is a father of 10 - all adopted! ;D  It's a great book.  Walmart has it here for $6.49, so not too bad.

Ok, ladies, I need to hit the sack and get my beauty sleep.  Up until now, it hasn't worked, but I'm the eternal optimist. :P

Mum, you crack me up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I have the same sarcastic, dry humor when it comes to spoiled kids.

Note I don't have any of my own, lol.  I DID speak to my niece in much the same way you thought about "the girl."  LOL  Although my niece knows better than to make a scene in a store.  Goodness, I would've walked away, too!   :o   :o

OK, so I don't have any children, but guess what is happening tonight?!?!?!?!?

I am meeting Iceman's youngest at his place for dinner before she goes back to her Mom's.  The older kid is at the beach, the one who spotted me in the department store last June.

So, I get to meet Iceman's Mini-Me tonight!  I am so excited!  She just learned how to ride a bike yesterday, too, with Dad's help!

Wish me luck, Cheech and I are heading over this afternoon!   :D

Also, Mum, I admire your patience with Mini and the cross-stitching.  Who knows?  Maybe she'll get the hang of it!  I loved arts and crafts at that age!

Afternoon ladies,

Queen, I hope your games get fixed without too much hassle from the people from India (ugh).

Mum, sounds like you got your hands full.

Cin, mucho good luck meeting the kid.  I know you'll do fine.  btw, did you see what I posted about the Sustiva/Neurontin?

Wendy, to tell you the truth, I can't remember exactly what I told my mum when I started staying out all night. After awhile, she got the hang of it and just stopped asking (but still yelled).  She sent me to my room one time and I came back in the front door about four hours later drunk off my ass (I went out the window).

I've got the other pork steak in the oven.  I put some gravy on it, because I didn't feel like cooking on the grill today.  I was thinking about going to church earlier, but didn't.  I slept in instead.  I've got tonight and tomorrow before school starts.  And both classes are on Tues. and Wed. nights, the same days I'm at the Hope.  Oh well, it'll make the days go by fast.

Nothing else going on.  Three more days until the 3rd.  Unfortunately, the tags on my car are due, so that's $62 gone already (besides regular bills).  I have to keep the tags current since my car is parked in the street.  Cars without valid tags get towed and impounded.  I do not want to deal with that mess.  Alright, you ladies have a nice day.

Good luck meeting Ice's little "cube".  I'd be scared outta my mind.

Betty, LOL about climbing out the window.  Growing up my bedroom was on the 2nd floor.  Right after I hit puberty, my parents built a rock garden under one of my windows, complete with HUGE sticker bushes.  To guard the other window, they moved the chimney in front of it.  I remember complaining that in a fire I would die.  My mom told me to go out the window with the sticky bushes.  Given the choice of getting stuck or dying, I should choose getting stuck.  However, I should keep in mind that if I got stuck sneaking out my window, I would get stuck AND die.  LOL..what a mom! :P

Mini's bugging me to restart her cross-stitch lesson  :-\  Poor thing only wants to be like her mama...like I said, poor thing ;)

We're going to my parents' house tomorrow for swimming and eating.  We leave next Sunday for the beach - oh, joy, joy (that was sarcasm).  At the moment, my dad is sitting on the TX, LA border with his chopper waiting to see if he can be of some help.  So far, the mayor or NO and the governor of LA have both said that he will NOT be allowed to help those who choose to ignore the mandatory evacuation.  They have warned people to get out, or deal with the consequences on their own.  I have to say that, after seeing dad's footage of post-Katrina, I totally agree.  Anyway, we hope he gets out in time to come home before we leave.  If not, we won't talk about the consequences he's going to face :o

Haven't heard from Hubby's family, but as of Thursday, they were leaving on Friday and yesterday.  The phone lines are jammed, so we can't call in.  Not sure where they are heading, but we know (hope) they have scense to get out.

Hope you all have a great Sunday and for those who are off tomorrow, a great holiday!

Hi GFs~

Meeting Ice's youngest went well!  She was a little shy, but I got her to open up before too long.  We had fun making fun of Iceman and his obsession with watching golf on TV all of the time!

Ice has to drive 45 minutes one way to one of his stores bec the mgr didn't lock the front door.  The alarm company just called, so Ice is pissed.  He is going to fire some of the guys and write up another one for being such dorks.  None of them would answer their cell phones tonight.

Mum, I hope the family is OK down near NOLA.  I have a coworker from there.  Her entire family, a big family, is down there.  She's the only one that relocated years ago.  Turns out one of her siblings lost everything from Katrina.  Personally, I would move the hell NORTH, but that's not always an option, nor do people want to leave the place they call "home."

Betty, yes, I read about thge neurontin in the other thread, thanks for posting.  Thing is, I have absolutely NO pain from this, just balance probs.  Makes me wonder if its a combo of bad neck and HIV.  Penguin shed some light with her post, mentioning vestibular system and optic nerve stuff.  I am calling my doc Tuesday.

Hugs to all!

Cindy-I am glad everything went well tonight. I'm sure it was nerve wracking for both of you. My parents divorced 3 years ago and my mom is engaged to someone else and my dad has dated multiple women and it is still hard and I am an adult! When do you meet the older one?

Mum-Should I say have a good trip? LOL! Maybe it won't be as bad as you think.

Betty-Enjoy your last couple of days!!!

Well it's pretty quite. I'm can't find anything to watch on tv.... :(  Oh well...let the channel surfing continue!

Have a good night everyone!

Morning ladies,

First of all, happy labor day to everyone.

Mum, have you heard from your father?  I'm wishing him and your hubby's family the best of luck.  It doesn't look like it's going to be as bad as Katrina (at least not this morning).  Hopefully it won't be anyway.  I hope you have a nice day today cooking out and swimming.  When you say you're going to the beach in a week, do you mean renting a cottage somewhere?

Cin, I'm glad everything went well meeting the youngest one.  I knew it would.    Yes, Penguin is right on when she gives advice.  I read what she said and I'd check into it.   And hey, after I read you're (and Cheech) having donuts, it made me want one!  What are your plans today?

Andrea, enjoy your day off.  Any plans?

In about an hour I'm leaving to go to my best friend's mom's house for a cookout.  I'm going to go by Meijer's to get something to take on the way there (a local grocery store, not sure if anyone else has Meijer's by them).  I'll probably be there most of the afternoon/early evening.  I know my best friend made bbq ribs and chicken, so I'm getting hungry already.

The other night, I was watching this show on BET called "American Gangster."  They were profiling different men who had been involved with crime etc.  Well, the one I watched interviewed and profiled the man who "The Wire" based a lot of its shows on.  I wish I could remember his name.  Anyway, on The Wire in the first couple seasons when the dope dealers used numbers when they called each other, well, that was this man's invention.  It was quite interesting.  When they started filming The Wire, they brought this man on board to consult on how to do things on the show.

Anyway, I've rambled long enough.  I hope all you ladies have a nice day.

Not much going on with me today...I woke up, smoked a couple, drank a margarita, ate some ribs then went back to sleep til about 3:30. My best friend wants me to stop over but I am still pondering it. I am just tired today for some reason. I guess I just don't feel like socializing. Hope you all are enjoying your holiday, it just feels like another Sunday to me.

Drag, i am in ontarioi just gave u the province not the city i dont know why maybe i am just paranoid but i am abt an hour outside toronto. who do u know or have u been here before.and ummm whr r u? coz if i evr come out that way i will give her a mouthful. in Canada she would get a bad rep and noone would come near her. even if she ws  the only one in town plus some sort of lawsuit. but i want to give her a mouthful of african words!!!

Brandy!!! i chuckled to myself reading abt yo daughter. its funny how as i was reading it i knew what she would say. no offence but  i m kinda among the younger in the group.........and i hv done all the excuses in the book and evented some till about a few years ago. so trust me the whole story is utter bull unless she is like the one in a million cases which it wld be  true but her fone dying when it actually wasnt...............well she hd some fun alright!!! my advice is just like everyone else's dont get too mad but let her know u know all the tricks in the book and that the rules still apply she agreed to them so she shld stick to them. my mum  alwaya said when a boy has good intentions for u, he wont ask u to do really stupid things, like staying out late past yo curfew. invite th eboy over and explain to him yo expectations. if he has a good head on his shoulders he will help her stay on track with the rules at yo place. if he is a bad boy............. then i am stuck, my advice ends there.........thats how i got my baby, a bad boy!!!

Tendai, tell us what happened? and what r u doing meeting people from facebook? didnt the guy  hv a picture or something,LMAO ahhhh but thats funny tho.

angel thx abt the glasses, i am still nervous..... i havent got them yet.

mum u r hilarious. i hope Mini had a great birthday. u shld PM yo adress or something i will send her a gift. it wont be much but i she looks like a girly girl to me............. she will love presents as much as i do...

to everyone else it took me a whole eveing to read thru the thread so if i missed u i will catch u next time...Betty ,Cindy, Wini, Netta....hugs and kisses and yes, Queen too

oh yes, abt Obama, if i was american i wld vote for him. abt time bush got out of there. i am impressed by Obama, he has humble beginnings, something most politicians might lack or seem to forget. politics is a dirty business, but i feel he will change what needs to be changed. stop  pouring money into the war against iraq and put it use somewhr else. i was at a conference once and the amount of money they spend in week or month or something would be enuff to stop the spread of AIDS in the whole world!!!the entire world...... but wat does bush do???? lets just say i hv strong opinions on that but VOTE OBAMA!!!!!!

Howdy my sweet ladies.  I'm going to start off by wishing my Pozilicious Lady BETTY TACY a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  Love you loads, doll.

My dad called this afternoon and all is well so far with him.  He moved the helicopter to Mississippi about 30 miles from the TN border.  Tomorrow he'll go register the helicopters and fill out permits so that he can fly into restricted airspace.  He'll start doing search and rescue and work with the electric company flying in crews and equipment to fix downed power lines.  All airports are closed until at least Wednesday.  They are still saying that he'll be home by Thursday, but we'll see.

My brother lives in Baton Rouge which got hit pretty good, too.  He lives in an apartment just outside of LSU campus.  When my mom talked to him a couple of days ago, he'd already bought 20lbs of ice and provisions for food that didn't need to be cooked (in case of power outtage) and 10 gallons of water.  So, it sounds like he's settled in to wait out the storm.  We heard from Hubby's family today and everyone got out and are well.  It was a relief.

Betty, when we go to the beach, we stay at the Turtle Cay in VA beach.  My mom makes all the arrangements.  We always have what are called "lock out" rooms which gives us tons of beds, 3 bathrooms, and 2 full kitchens.  I cook all the meals (we picnic for lunch and eat out 1x at Fish Bones) and we always have a washer / dryer in the room so I do laundry, too.  Like I said, not much of a vacation for me :-\.  My parents pay for everything but our gas, so it's hard to pass up. Plus it means a lot to my mom, so I don't complain.  I still hate the beach, though.

Well, Mini has her fasting blood work and HIV labs tomorrow morning.  We have to leave our house no later than 6:30am, arrive about 7:45am, off to the lab, then see the doc at 8:30am.  We'll get all her numbers except her VL while we're there.  Then on Friday, we'll go see her PID and WWIII begins. :o.

I am totally exhausted and actually fell asleep at the computer.  I need to head off to bed.  I need my beauty sleep ::).  I'll let you all know Mim's numbers when I get home.

Much love and sweet dreams :-*

Happy Birthday, Betty!!!

Tendai- Is it yours today too?  If so, Happy Birthday!

Mum- Glad your Dad is OK.  I hope you survive the beach :)

Tatenda- Try not to worry about your bf and keep with us for your own sake :)

I did nothing yesterday but clean.  Our upstairs bedroom was finally ready to move our furniture in so that is what I did all day.  I can't tell you how nice it is now, to get up and pee in the middle of the night and just walk 10 steps in and 10 steps back, PLUS I can hear what the kids up to.
I was laying down resting last night before I had to make supper and my youngest came in and starts squeezing my arm and saying "Let's go to the gargage".  So I say"the garage" and he goes " Yeah, get up, the garage" while he is steading squeezing my arm.  So I sit up and then he goes "lay on your back"  "I was already on my back, you mean my stomach?"  "Yeah" he says.  So I lay on my stomach and rubs and squeezes my shoulders for about 2 seconds and says " See, garage!"  I start laughing and ask him " Your trying to give me a massage?" "Yeah," he says, with a huge grin on his face.  They are all getting so big, I almost started to cry when my oldest went in the school today :-[

I hope everyone has a good day!  I will be glad when tomorrow comes, right, Betty?  ;D

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes.  And Tendai, if your bd is today, have a great one!

Snow, I didn't know your b.d. was this month also.  Lots of good people born in Sept.!

Anyway, I'm late getting on, and I really have to go.  More later.  Luv you all.

Happy Birthday Betty and Tendai. I hope you are enjoying the day doing something special for yourselves. I always pamper myself on my bday. I had a semi date last night, really would be considered a booty call by the time he came over. But I didn't give up no booty, we just talked. We met again for the second time time on a chatline. It's a local one they have here. So, tonight I have another date, I am going over his house after he gets off of work....And he works construction....All I can say is YUM!!!! But I also think it is kind of karma in some type of way too. SO, I am going to ride it out and see how it goes. Neither one of us is looking for a relationship at present, so to me, it's a win-win situation. Did I mention he is 27.... ;) :o ;D

Thursday I go to get trained on how to give myself Lantus shots. Betty or Cindy, does the shot hurt? I have thin needles to go with the pen. Any advice, I could use it. Then after that I have to go to two dietary classes. My clinic just penciled me in for an appointment tomorrow, though it is a busy day for me paying bills, I couldn't say no because I missed clinic last month.

I called the PUC about the gas bill budget plan and how they quoted me one price then charged me another. The woman couldn't understand how they could do that but told me all I needed to pay was the current bill which is $25.00. I kept asking her if they could shut off my gas if I didn't pay the budget plan and she said no as long as I pay the current so that's what I will do.

That's about it for me, excited about my date. I'll keep you posted.

Hey ladies,

Queen, I don't have the "pen," but I do have very thin needles.  No, the shot doesn't hurt.  You're going to use your stomach?  That's what I use (I have the padding).  It'll be alright.  Before long, you'll be an old pro. ;)    Oh, and good luck on the date.  27, aye?  Girl, you might have just hit the jackpot!

Drag, working abroad?  Did I miss something earlier?  Good luck with it.  Hey, I always overeat on the weekends.  I'm trying to just not get stressed about it anymore.

Keeping and Angel (and Drag and Queen) thanks for the happy birthday wishes.  I'm not doing anything special today though.  This morning/afternoon I was at the Hope for the volunteer job, then tonight school starts (ugh), which I'm dreading.  Well, maybe not though once the class is over.  I'll know more tonight.  I really don't have a lot of time right now, so I'm going to check out a few more threads and take off.  Have a great night ladies.

I wanted to wish Betty  A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Tendai, too?  Happy Birthday, I can't keep up with these darn threads.

Queen, the shots DO NOT hurt.  Only thing you're gonna feel, if anything, is the alcohol from where you wipe your skin.  Its nothing, honest.  I don't even use alcohol swabs anymore.  I suggest sitting and using the top of your thigh, its easiest, esp if you have the privacy of your own home most of the time.  Later on you can switch to your upper left arm, or butt.  Stomach was the last place I ever gave a shot, personal preference, but that's where all of the damn nurses train everyone to do it.

I refused to give myself a shot there when I was 11 years old.   ;D

To this day, I think I've only done it once, just for kicks, and tha'ts a lot of shots between 1981 and now, lol.   :-*

Morning ladies,

Cin and Netta, thanks for the happy birthday wishes.  Nothing spectacular happened.  I'm 43 now.

Class went well last night.  I think this might be an interesting one.  We're going to study the national economy and the world economy.  The teacher is really nice.  I've not had him before, but I like him.  His wife's in the class.  So, it may not be as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Tonight's class is government.  It may be interesting, this being an election year and all.  I'm up early because of this being check day and me having to go to the Hope.  There are a couple things I want to get done before heading over there a little later.  I really have nothing more to report right now.  I'll try to check in later.  Have a good day ladies.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAHALIA! _ well I guess everyones paying there bills today. You wouldn't believe I go to get my car fixed and it cost twice as much as I had figured, but I had to do it. Now I have to be creative with paying my bills, phone and rent paid, cable will probably get cut off along with internet, :'(
Paid a little on my electric and have to borrow money to pay my car insurance and bankruptcy. It never gets easy! Well I feel like crap today. My sinus is driving me crazy, my head and my whole face hurts, so I have been sleeping , I went and bought some severe sinus by Tylenol, and still waiting for it to kick in, it looks like I may have to go for the Goody powder if this doesn't work. I feel very off balance. I will call my doctor, but i hate taking antibiotics for my sinus, it works, but then next few weeks its back ! I was told hiv causes bad sinuses, one of the things we must deal with i guess.i went to buy a nettie pot but have to wait it cost 16.00 here in Georgia. Well love to all of you and hope you are well. Oh by the way I got two parts in  2 short plays at church during bible study. I have rehearsal tonite, I am part of the drama ministry and did a big production a few years back where i was the lead role. I have been acting a long time in church and local productions and i really like it. Now i don't know most of the people that  tried out but i already feel a little jealousy, because i got two major parts in both skits. we deal with forgiveness this month , the skits are on abortion and rape, real heavy topics, in the church, but it sends a good message of forgiving oneself for these things that have taken place in life. I am a little nervous, and I don't feel great with this sinus but I am going to rehearsal anyway, just one more thing to put in my resume.

Evening ladies,

Mahalia, happy birthday sweetie.  I hope you took yourself out for a real nice dessert!

Netta, I'm sorry you're suffering with sinus trouble.  That can be such a pain.  Congratulations on those parts.  I bet you're great at that kind of stuff.  Sorry about the money situation.  I know it's hard.  Cars are a royal pain, I swear.

I don't know where everyone else is.  I was busy today, real busy.

Well, things went well at the Hope today.  I talked to one of the residents for about 1/2 an hour about addiction.  We had a good talk.  He stays at the Hope and his girlfriend stays at the Hope's other place for women, women/children and families.  She's really nice also and is in recovery too.

After I left the Hope, I had to pay bills and had about 10 minutes left to eat and get to school.  I liked tonight's class (Intro to Government).  I've had the teacher before and I like him and we have a good class.  I tried to do some of my Microecon homework and I couldn't hardly understand it.  I'm going to call the teacher Saturday to see if he will meet me early on class night or if he's going to go over it in class.  Other than that, nothing going on.  Tomorrow's going to be super-busy.  I have to do laundry, my therapist is coming over, I have to go shopping and tomorrow night is the HIV support group at the ASO here.  I hope you ladies have a good evening.

Hey Ladies---

Time for someone to start a new thread. My date went well and he even scored a few brownie points. He knows how to return calls!!!! :D We were suppose to have gotten together tonight but I had a headache and was sleep when he called. He left a message so I left him one in return. We may get together tomorrow, not sure yet. It'll be my first night of insulin so I am not sure how I will react, maybe I'll see him first since I don't have to take it til night time anyway.

Had my clinic appointment today. All is well, my test came back and I can start my meds again. I am going to wait til Sunday to start, my doc said it wouldn't hurt me. I am broke but my cable will be back on Tuesday. Thank the Goddess, I can watch wrestling again... :D

Cindy&Betty-- I am nervous about giving myself the shot, not sure why because I don't have a problem getting my flu or depo shot. I think it is because I have to give it to myself and I am worried about air bubbles or giving myself too much insulin.

I am going to bow out since I am a bit tipsy from a margarita and buzzed from the good green.... ;D ;D ;D ;D
