First time for everything
« on: August 18, 2017, 03:19:52 am »
Well. I finally met a guy who it looks like will be a "friend with benefits." And he's NEGATIVE. We are both in our mid-50's and he's not terrified of me. We play safe, nothing that involves exchanging body fluids, but it's been such a treat to have someone actually put their arms around me and give me a big bear hug!

When my first partner died (of AIDS-related encephalopathy), it was a long time before I even felt like going out. When I finally did, I handled disclosure badly, telling a guy who seemed like he was into me that I was poz while we were dancing. DUH. I learned my lesson then, and sort of withdrew from the gay subculture. It was several years before I could talk to a guy without worrying all the time about how to disclose.

Anyway, wanted to share my good news with someone that would appreciate it.

We were standing all alone
You were leaning in to speak to me
Acting like a mover shaker
Dancing to Madonna then you kissed me
And I think about it all the time

GIVES ME HOPE !! Congrats and thanks for sharing.

I think I have more issues arise when the other guy is poz. And definitely the number of issues triple if the poz guy happens to be much younger.
You are never alone...and if you start to feel lonely....search me out...or grab your cat!
