Anyone planning to go on vacation this summer?

My holiday plan is going to be spending 4 days in August in Portugal, I've been a few times and like it.

My next work trip will see me travelling to India, going to Pune. I'm working on the Visa but if all goes well July/August ill be there for 2 weeks, ill try avoid working for at least 5 of the days whilst i am over so its kind of a holiday.

I was horrifically sick last time I went to India so am in no rush to go back (it was food poisoning, and to be fair some of my Indian colleagues over there were hit with it too).

Last year I went to a bunch of places around Europe and the USA. This year will be comparatively quiet I think...may go to Hungary/Austria/Germany in August but that may be it. Too many other things going on right now.

I do have a week off shortly to spend with a friend, but that will be UK based. Just as well given my broken bone situation!

The Cape is great in the summer, unfortunately the tourists think the same 
I might get in a few week ends in Maine to get away from them.

Yeah - I would say I will just not eat but i will and I am sure i will get sick - part and parcel of it i suppose.
Hope it did not cloud the visit too much.

I was in Germany in October last year - definitely recommend it, any thought to were you would like to go if going to Germany?

I'd like to go back to Munich. I went to the Oktoberfest six years running, as well as once around xmas. Think it's a fantastic city.

Xmas in Germany with all the markets is pretty great indeed.

No, how about Ryanair - take a cheap city hop flight for a weekend? Do some back packing, budget holiday at the beech?

Or holiday at home, wexford ... at least the beech and strawberries are good down that way.

Thanks Jim for the sound advice but this year every penny has to go to the purchase of a new old banger.Might take 2 or 3 days in the Beara Peninsula or maybe never come back(i wish)..but you`re right, it`s been one helluva year and it might be wise to take a breather and swim in those beautiful kerry waters.
