very worried
« on: April 15, 2018, 12:29:26 pm »
What a good afternoon
I expose my case on Saturday March 3 I had a possible contagion, one night I had drinks and I can not remember well because I ended up with a man I did not know at home I have memories of this man performing oral sex, then I have memories that I try to penetrate (without a condom) at that moment I automatically wake up and stop everything that is doing to me, I do not enter completely if perhaps I am only a single penetration and fast, later I went home with a terrible feeling of guilt, 4 days later of this I started thinking about a possible infection of vi, I located this person who had abused me and did it with myself to perform tests, he made us to elisa 4th generation giving me negative, but I am not sure that the He gave me that they separated when carrying out the tests, when we left with the question about his resluted and tranquility he told me that he came out negative and he promised me (in fact I do not trust 100% in him, since or I know it and I did not see the test.) After exactly 16 days after the possible infection, I performed another ELISA test of the 4th generation, giving me a negative result. I am a little worried because he detects two nodes in my neck I do not know if it really is inflamed or not only I detect them and previously I had not detected any (1cm of maximum diameter) I do not hurt or feel discomfort, also at night I have been about 1 week and half with dry, I do not want to assign these symptoms to HIV because it is in a very cold country with a temperature of -10 degrees, there I could also get sick. The question here is real, do I have to worry? Is it advisable to do another test? Where is he alive? Thank you very much.

You can't remember what you did so simply test at 6 weeks and again at 13 weeks post exposure for a conclusive result. No point in worrying about it, simply test.

Also test for easier to transmit STIs

If I do, I'm sure it was only a single penetration since the person who abused me also confirms it, is the risk I have high?

Nobody can give you odds on infection.

Look hiv is incredibly difficult to transmit during sexual intercourse, but it does happen and is the primary transmission route in adults.

So testing is the only way to know and speculating to the outcome following a risk is pointless.

Look any negative result is good but do test as per guidelines.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim

30 day time out (ban) from the forum for creating multiple threads despite warnings.

You had a risk, so the only way to know following a risk is to test as per guidelines.
