Oral Sex
« on: July 19, 2017, 03:11:46 pm »
On May 18th I had oral sex with a guy for about 5 minutes with no ejaculation in my mouth. Two days after I experienced a really bad sore throat. I went to the doctors and got tested for strep and it came back negative. I kept looking up symptoms and finding my self to have them. I have swollen lymph node in my neck, knee pain, a low grade fever of 99.3 and a off and on sore throat. Yesterday I took a test for gonorehha, chlyamidia, syphillis, mono, hep b&c  these all came back negative,I also did normal blood test and they a came back normal. . I'm just waiting for the HIV test to come back.

Is my risk high of catching hiv from this encounter? I am also a girl.

You had virtually zero risk of contracting the HIV for the encounter as you describe it.  Performing oral sex on a male is a theoretical risk only and would require that your mouth have open, gaping wounds (as in meth "mouth").

Since other possible STD's you could have contracted from performing unprotected oral sex have been tested for and have come back "negative," it is safe to assume that your current symptoms are unrelated to those activities.
