:o Yes, it's me, starting a new thread. I had an idea for a title and thought I'd step up.

Not much going on with me these days, just the usual grind with a couple funerals thrown in just to mess with my head. But that's life, eh?

Hope everyone is well... I read everyday, even though I don't post here much.  :-*

Hugs,
Ann

Hi everyone. Lucas saw the cardiologist yesterday. He did an EKG and Echocardiogram which were both normal ;D. He put Lucas on a home monitor for 24 hours which I have to mail back. Results from that will take 2-3 weeks. If that is normal we will have another visit in 4-6 mo, then every year there after. He said that now that he's had SVT once we should keep an eye out for it happening again, but it may not. He said Lucas needs to avoid stimulants like caffeine and pseudophed. Thank God I don't, I live on those ;). He also said that the teen years with the raging hormones is a prime time for a recurrence ::). Great, another reason to look forward to the teen years  :P. Overall the news was good though :). Also, I was afraid that this might be linked with the ART therapy Lucas gets or with being positive. The cardiologist was able to tell me that is not the case which helped a lot.
We saw his eye doctor today. The eyes are healing fine. Things are lined up when Lucas looks up close. At a distance they still are not aligned,  but it is much closer (off by 20% instead of 50%). We go back in a week for another check. She said once the swelling is gone he may have more improvement. She also wants us to do eye exercises again which may get us that last 20%.
Other than that, not much happening. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Morning,

Ann, sorry to hear about the funeral. Love the title by the way.

#1, so glad to hear your son is doing well.

Queen, I hope the side effects taper off quickly for you.

BT, I work as a maintenance tech for a community college in my area. HVAC, electrical, occasional clogged toilet, whatever needs fixing really. Navy may have booted me for being +, but they couldn't take away the training they gave me.  Good pay, but the main reason I took this job was I get free classes here as long as I am a full time employee. Books included. Pretty sweet deal.

Hope all is doing well, I gotta run. I am determined to get home and get to sleep before the rooster crows.

Morning ladies,

Queen, I'm glad you have the car.

Ann, sorry about the funerals.  Were you all close?

#1 mom, that's great news about Lucas' eyes.  Hopefully his far-away vision will improve.  And I'm glad there's nothing seriously wrong with his heart.

Fruitloop, I didn't know you had been in the Navy.  Are you getting any compensation from them for them just kicking you out?  I didn't know the military could do that.  Your job sounds complicated.  Are you taking classes?

Last night was my independent study.  It's called Topics in Psychology, and it's going to be about disorders (which I love studying).  Then I went to the HIV support group.  There are some new people there I just met.  It went well.

Today I plan on going to the Y, unless I go back to bed first.  This weekend I'm not going to work out, and hopefully I can get some sleep.  Nothing exciting planned for this weekend.  My best friend and I might go out to lunch tomorrow.  Probably just homework other than that.  You all have a nice day.

Good morning ladies. Just a quick check in.   Ann, thanks for starting the new thread. Sorry to hear about funerals, are you okay?                       Lucas mom, glad his surgery went well. Hopefully things will continue to improve or is that all the improvement you can expect. I am not familiar with eye surgery so i thought O would ask. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts.                                                                  I am going to work soon but thought I would stop by. Work is going well, I feel good and my energy level is much higher the last couple days. I think I lost a couple pounds, which is nice, I could stand to lose about 50, that would put me at 130 but oh well.                                     Hope everyone is well. TGIF.  I will check back in tonight.    Later, Cristy

Hey---

Not much going on with me either. The car is finally fixed, thank the Goddess. I heard from Rey yesterday and the plot thickens. He had just got out of the hospital after being there for 4 days. Now I am feeling like such a heel...

It's been nice out the last couple of days so I have been trying to enjoy it. I am also dog sitting Boo for the weekend so since it is nice, I will take him for a walk later. That sounds weird to me about them kicking you out of the Navy, Fruit. I didn't think they could do that. It seems like more ladies are lurking than posting but that's ok sometimes even I run out of stuff to talk about....like now.... ;D Have a good weekend everyone...

Doggone it! I tried to post and it didn't stick. I guess I'll try again...

#1- I'm glad everything went well with Lucas  :)

Fruit- I can't believe the Navy let you go because of the HIV. Is that normal procedure? I would definitely agree that getting free tuition and books is a bonus.

Betty- This is the last of your classes isn't it? What are you going to do with yourself once you are done? More power to you for sticking with the Y. I STILL haven't gotten my bootie to the gym...eventually.

Happy- How's it going?

Cristy- So, you are back at your old job? It sounds like you're happy.

Queen- Does this new information about Rey change why you called it off?

Not much happening here. Next week I have parent conferences. That means it is going to be a long week... :P I'm getting tired just thinking about it. The only thing I have planned this weekend is sleeping in and grading some papers.

Have a good night everyone!

Andrea

Morning all,

I joined the Navy in 1994, and (long story short) tested + in 1996. I don't know if anyone remembers the government budget crisis in 1996. But, every October, the government's fiscal budget year starts over. In 1996, no one could agree on the budget on time and the government actually shut down for over 3 weeks. Anyway, a Republican from California, slipped a bill in with the budget proposal stating that all HIV+ individuals are to be discharged from all branches of the military. Clinton, had to sign the budget. He had no choice. Before Clinton could repel the bill that discharged us, a lot of us had our discharge papers and were sitting on the curb. He did get it repelled though, so now there are protections in place for current members of the military who are +. They can't be kicked out for being + now.

Yeah, we got compensated financially, but that wasn't the point. Personally, I wanted to stay in the Navy. I loved it and I was good at it. There is just something about being on a ship, at night, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. You look up, and you can't believe how many stars are up there. In the Mediterranean Sea, there are places that the water is this incredible shade of blue and so clear. And up at the bow (front) of the ship, you look down at the water, and you'll see a little fleet of dolphins swimming along side the ship. It was amazing. I miss it.

As far as classes, I'm trying to take one or two every semester. Have most of my general ed courses done. This semester I am only taking one, Technical Mathematics II. With my schedule, that is all I have time for.

Well, I'm gonna go finish my paper work. Going home early tonight, yeah! Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll try to get on, but weekends are for homework and sleeping for me lol.

I meant to say the government shutdown was in 1995  not 1996. By 1997, when the bill was amended, hundreds of hiv + people were medically discharged, under honorable conditions.

Morning ladies,

Hey Happy, I'm studying psychology (as a major).

Cristy, I'm glad you're feeling good to be back at work.  I'd like to lose about 30 or 35 lbs.  It seems like I do alright for a few days, then I can't take it-I have to have something sugary or fried and salty.

Queen, does this mean you're going to start seeing Rey again?  Whose dog is Boo?

Andrea, of course I'll be looking for a job when I'm done with school.  I hope I can find one, with the way the economy is.  The thing that worries me is that I don't have experience, and a lot of people looking for a job right now do.  But, I'm going to have to find something; I have student loans that have to be paid back.  I don't want them garnishing my social security check for that (which they will do).

Fruit, I understand it's the principle of wanting to be in the Navy, moreso than the money.  I, personally, would freak out if I were out in the middle of an ocean on a ship (any kind of ship).  I'm not good in those kinds of situations.  Of course, I thought the same about flying again, until I went to Arizona over Christmas, and did fine.  I tend to project. Anyway, you're taking Tech Math II??  Wow, that sounds hard.  And complicated.  Did you say you have children?

It's rainy, grey and thundering here.  Much different than a week ago, when it was 5F degrees and freezing (it's 48F now).  My best friend and I may go out to eat today, then I'm not sure what I'll do.  The inside of my car needs to be cleaned (windex'd and vaccuumed).  And I have a lot of homework for that awful online class (the one about the weather and climate).  Other than that, nothing else planned today.  Maybe trying to finish one of the books I checked out at the library.  You ladies have a good day.

Hey Peeps----

The weather has been nice here too even though it was rainy. I had to be up early once again for one of those damn appraisals. It kind of irritates me because  I have to be up at the crack of dawn just for them to take not even 5 minutes to look around. Though bitchy, I went back to sleep til close to 1. Eventually got motivated and took a ride around town.

I am not really sure how to deal with Rey. I don't think he's lying to me though. I kind of feel bad for him cause he had got laid off his job for being sick those 4 days but he seemed to have found another one and starts at the end of the month. His mother is also in the hospital. We were going to try to get together today but I don't think that's happening because he had to get his car inspected. But I did get to see him last week so.....

On to MySpace.....There was this guy that I use to date about 8 years ago when I lived in Harrisburg. He happened to have found me on MySpace. I wonder how people do that? I thought he had to have my email or name, well anyhoo...We have been chatting on Yahoo for the past few days. Neither one of us can remember why we parted ways but agrees we want to see each other again. Talking to each other seems to have stirred up a lot of feelings. So....we will see where it goes, neither of us is trying to rush into anything but admits something is there.....Man, I am starting to feel like a soap opera, hood version of course with more reality than fantasy.... :D

Still dog-sitting Boo. He is the dog of a neighbor I use to live next to. Boo is picky about who he will let watch him and has snapped at a few of his past sitters. I seem to be the only one he takes to plus he loves Lucifer. The guy who owns him drives buses as in Greyhound or something so he is gone days at a time. It's a little extra pocket money and hardly no effort since Boo is trained.

That's it for me ladies......

Good evening ladies.                                                                                 Queen, glad you got the car finished. I don't blame you for not  giving it back until she pays you. Hopefully that will work out and you will still be friends. Good luck with the fellas.                                                         Betty, hope your day turned out good even with the shitty weather. I have to have my sweets. I think just being active has helped me, before this week I was eating a lot cause  was bored and kinda stressed. I cut out the before bed snacks and that will help.                                                                                                     Fruitloop , sounds like you stay busy. That is cool, that you get to take classes free.  That sucks , about being put out of the Navy but I am glad you put your skills to good use.                                                Andrea, I don't know how you do it, having 30kids to teach.  I don't think I would make a good teacher.  I don't have the patience.                                                                                      Things are good here. I got to work lunch today, $40 for 2 and a half hours. I work lunch tomorrow as well. Then off Monday, lunch Tuesday and ID doc on Wed.   Robert is good . He hung around with Grandpa all day long. My dad is so good with him and just willing to listen to Robert talk and talk and talk. They worked on the El Camino today and then took it for a test drive.                  I should be going to yet another conference for him this week. He is having a hard time focusing at school, waiting his turn, not interrupting others, stuff like that. I think he will eventually settle down but he hasn't yet. Oh well it will work out. I am talking to a guy from NJ and emailing another here in NC. I feel good but tired.         Anybody I missed, Camms, Minismum, Lucas'mom,                hope everybody has a good night.      Cristy

Thanks Ann for the new thread
I think its appropriate for my for life....I was always the black sheep, even with one gay sister and one state trooper for a brother its unique. The parenst who were continually lovely dovey broke the paradigm (mapping) of my life.   But I am the biggest black sheep.   I am the lone force sometimes.  Yet I'm a paradox because I'm the one who brings all the family together.  I've been negligent on the story.  I have women walking all around my house so can't tell much.

I spent today at a girlfriend's house today. We have been friends since we where 10 or 11 years old. It was a pretty good day. It was nice to see her. We dont make enough time for each other. I should work on that. Or rather we should.

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Good Morning Everyone!

I was a total ding dong this weekend. I went to my ID doctor on Saturday only to realize once I got there that my appointment was Friday! I need to try to get in this week. I still haven't gotten any blood work done. It's so difficult for me to get in to do all that. My schedule just doesn't help. Oh well. This week is parent conference week and Monday I go on my overnight field trip.

I hope everyone is doing well. Betty, you usually post. Are you ok?

Has anyone heard from Cindy?

Hello Ladies. where is everyone. I figure you are all outside enjoying the beautiful weather.                                                                        Andrea, don't feel bad. I have done that a couple times, going to my Doctor appointment on the wrong day.                                                  Wendy, sounds like you had fun at your friend's house.                    Not much going on here, I vacuumed and am doing laundry. I am going outside to wash the giant truck I drive to work. I think I will check the oil and tire pressure while I am at it.                                                       Hope everyone has a great day.   Later. Cristy

Howdy, ladies.  Sorry I've been MIA.  The power cord to our laptop was broken so we couldn't use it once the battery ran out.  Hubby ordered one from a guy in California.  What he didn't realize, until it was too late, is that the cord was coming from Hong Kong.  The earliest estimated day of arrival was tomorrow, but it came today - YEAH!!  We don't have all of Mim's numbers yet.  We have all her lipid stuff (not real good) but not her ID numbers.  I've been calling for 6 days trying to get them, but so far no one has returned my calls. (color me suprised - NOT)

Honestly, I haven't read everyone's posts from the last thread, but will when I have more than a half-second and can properly respond.  I need to run and get the kids ready for dance class.  Today is Purim so the girls can dress like princesses and the boys will dress like princes.  Our #5 is dressing like a knight.  They'll get their "crowns" tonight.

OK, I've got to run!  Love you all!

I guess I am just checking in too. Nothing major happened today. I took my friend to run his errands since he had been doing it for me while the car was down. I think we're going grocery shopping together tomorrow. He gave me some tables that he didn't need anymore. Boo went home today and after that I went over to a girl friend's house and chilled with her. We haven't done that in a long time.

Have a good night...

Morning ladies,

Queen, how are things going with the guy on myspace?

Cristy, did you go to the conference for Robert yet?  Please let us know how that goes.

Wendy, that's cool that you're still in touch with someone from that long ago.  I wish I knew what some of my past friends are doing.

Camms, I can relate on the black sheep thing.  That was always me, all my life (except when I was in like 1st through 5th grade).  I was a hell-raiser and partier, and got into tons of trouble, with the law and other people.  Trouble with law enforcement was pretty easy to get out of when I was in my teen's-early 20's.  Anyway, whenever you feel like talking about it......

Andrea, what kind of field trip did you have?  Was it fun?

Mum, yeah, please let us know what Min's ID numbers are.  How's she feeling?

My computer was down for a day and a half.  My brother's girlfriend was over yesterday and temporarily fixed it.  The ethernet connection on my modem is fried and comcast is supposed to bring me a new modem sometime tomorrow.  So, she put a flashdrive onto her laptop, found my modem's programming, downloaded it onto the flashdrive, and put it on my computer.  I really don't know how else to explain it, though I'm sure there was a bit more to it than what I'm saying.  I'm not good with anything like that.  I wasn't raised with computers, and wasn't familiar at all with the internet until like just a couple years ago, so I'm behind times.

It's been heavily raining here.  There are several roads that are shut off because of flooding, and one of them is the road the Y's on.  So, I won't be going there until the water receeds, which, according to the news, won't be happening for awhile.  I really need to do laundry today, but I don't know if I'll be hauling clothes around out in the rain.  Anyway, nothing much else going on.  You all have a good day.

Hi Ladies, hope you all had a nice weekend. Nothing much going on here. My DH still filling out job applications and getting restless. I'm tryn to encourage him, so many people out of work, we are still blessed, because we have my ssd check and his unemployment. I am so thankful for that. My rent may or may not change, we went to our section 8 housing appointment to update my case. they want blood !! My dh has to have a criminal background check before he can be put on the lease. He has a conviction 10 years ago for robbery/ assault with a play gun, how dum is that.he was high at the time, drugs will make you do strange things. Anyway he served his time and has no parole or anything and is free and clear, but I don't know if they will put him on the lease. (Also he has to put this down on his job appications so that can be a negetive for him. when I think of my husband and his calm demeanor, I cannot believe he did those things. )Anyway it doesn't matter cause they can't kick me off. it will be interesting to see what happens. My electric bill  is sky  high with an up down apt. wish I had a flat now. It has been in the 70s and 80s and is hot  here. We sleep with the windows open and refuse to turn on the air. have to conserve. Took pictures Sunday At my daughters house.
Hope every one is well.
Queen- yo ugo girl
betty- you are so smart! you will have a great career.
Min mum- keep us posted, hope Min is ok

This will be a quick post since I am waiting on my friend to pick me up for the grocery store. Betty, which guy on MySpace? Rey or Teto? ;) I have actually talked to both yesterday. Not sure what is going on with Orlando, I haven't heard from him in a few days now. And about ready to say forget it with him.

Netta---You may encounter problems from Section 8 with your hubby's criminal past even if it was 10 years ago. When I first applied for Section 8, I was denied because I was honest about my criminal past which was selling drugs and at that time, 8 years had past. The kicker was that the crime was committed in a different state but they didn't care. I had to have my case manager at my ASO write me a letter in order to meet with the head man that ran Section 8. And now that my son is doing time, he had wanted to stay with me after he finishes the half way house which will be sometime in October of this year. And he can't stay with me because of a felony charge. Is there anyone that could write a letter on behalf of your hubby?

I have been kind of lazy lately so when I get back from the store I will prolly do my dishes and some laundry. I think it's all this rain that has me so sluggish.....

This has been a very trying few days.  Sunday we found out that a good friend of our's son killed himself.  I found out about it before his mom did - they couldn't find her.  5 years ago her husband's son killed himself and now her son.  He was only in his mid-30's and left behind a 12yr old daughter and an 8yr old son.  His wife was a SAHM.  Now that Scott's life insurance is voided, she and the kids are left with nothing.  I can't even begin to imagine.

Then last night we found out about another friend of our's neice being taken to the hospital with some sort of really odd pain.  They transported her via ambulance but she was put out in the waiting room.  After a couple of hours, her mom took her home without a doctor ever seeing her.  Well, today, they went to a quick care place who life-flighted her to University Hospital.  She has fluid around her brain consistant with viral meningitis.  All those people she was around in the hospital waiting room were exposed.  The plan was for her to go directly into surgery to have the fluid drained off her brain.  It would then be tested for meningitis.

Trying to be there for our friends and trying desperately to help them get through this.  Unfortunatly, the only thing I can think of is cooking for them.  How come that's the first thing that comes to peoples' minds?

Hey all.

Betty- Just that explanation about the computer confused me. You are definitely more advanced than I am! I haven't gone on the field trip yet. My class goes on Monday. It's the one I go on every year. We spend the night on a ship and reenact the life of an 18th century sailor. I like the rain but not when I have to be out in it... :)

Netta- Nice pictures  :). That's too bad about your husband. I think addictions make people do things they wouldn't normally do and it's unfortunate that we have to constantly pay for our mistakes. I hope it works out for you.

Queen- I hear you about being sluggish. I think the time change did if for me.

Mum-I'm sorry you are going through all that. I think that making a meal for someone is very nice. Any gesture means a lot. When my brother died, people wanted to do so much and they don't know what to do. I remember people buying food and bringing food and that was a help.

Not much happening. I have parent conference week so that takes up much of my time. I am drained! Most of them are going ok. I have only had one where the mother doesn't seem to understand that if her son doesn't turn work in he can't get graded for it and therefore his grades will suffer. She tried to argue with me about her son does have the ability and he shouldn't have a low grade. I told her that I have to see that ability and if he does not turn is work there is nothing for me to grade. She then looked at his math grades and was not happy about those. She said she has seen him do the work, blah , blah, blah. Oh and by the way the student wasn't there and they are supposed to be there, I pulled his folder out of this desk and went through it and of course there was all the incomplete work and a bunch of tests and quizzes with failing grades that he never brought home. I told her that he apparently was only bringing home the ones with the good grades... :) How cute. Anyways...she wants to come back tomorrow with him. I just don't get it. I mean does she think I'm making all this stuff up? Crazy. So that's about all.   :)

Have a good night ladies  ;D

Morning all,

Netta, I'm not sure about the housing thing, if it includes all felonies, or just drug felonies.  I hope everything works out.  Those pics of you all are very nice.

Queen, I don't remember hearing about this Teto guy.  You just go ahead with all those men!  I've been sluggish also, ever since we had to move the time up.  I don't think I've caught up yet.

Mum, we give food because, most of the time, food = comfort.  And we want to comfort people who are going through hard times.  I think that's very thoughtful of you.  And those are some extremely tough situations.

Andrea, trust me, I don't understand what I said about the computer either.  I would never have figured that out.  My brother's girlfriend used to work on the Geek Squad, and knows tons about computers.  Most of it she said she taught herself.  I just don't have that kind of a brain.   That fieldtrip sounds fun.  I vaguely remember you talking about this last year.  I hope there's no rain.   And good luck with that irate mother.  Some parents don't see their kids' mistakes, no matter whether it's in front of their faces or not.  Geesh.

I'm waiting for Comcast.  They should be here within the next four hours.  I wish I knew exactly what time they're getting here, so I could shower.  But, I don't dare do that, for fear of missing them.  I'm supposed to have lunch today with a girl that used to work at our Aids organization.  She works for CPS now, and is almost done with her master's in social work.  Anyway, I also need to do a tiny bit of shopping, then tonight I have my Anatomy class.  Other than that, just probably reading and doing homework for that awful online class that I have no interest in. :)  You ladies have a good day.  Where's Snow been?

Hello ladies. Long day=quick post.                                                  Minismum, sorry to hear about the difficulties your friends and family are suffering. Both of those situations sound rough.                                Betty, glad you got your computer fixed. I know next to nothing about computers except how to play on the internet. I hope your comcast person came to connect it.                                                                  Andrea, I could see how parent conferences could be exhausting. The field trip sounds like fun, I will hope for no rain for you that day.                   Queen, 2 guys and a possible. Sounds like it could be fun or at least have some possibilities.                                                                             Netta, I don't know much about Section8 but I will be hoping things turn out well for you both.                                                                            I had a doctor appointment    today and I am tired. No problems, my CD4 is 490 and my vl is undetectable. Then we went grocery shopping. My mom went with so it was much easier. Robert's conference is Monday. I expect it to go well. I love his teacher, she is great but I don't know how to improve his focus, he is doing poorly at home, too. Squirmy and argumentative. I hope he is not acting like this at school. I think he will grow out of it but his teacher usually has some good suggestions. We have already established that medicine is out.      I'll update the conference on Monday.  Hope everyone has a great night. Evening---

I am still sluggish from the time change though I did stay up til 1 am, chatting with Teto. Teto and I use to date when I lived in Harrisburg, we worked at the same place. Though he is younger than me, I feel like he was my soulmate. We were inseperable, though the funny thing is neither of us can remember why we broke up. I really can't and don't know if he is lying...lol..So, I will give him the benefit of the doubt. He goes to school and also works. We have been talking every night when he gets online to do his homework. Rey is still around, just got done chatting with him on Yahoo before I logged on here. Orlando left a cryptic message for me, I think he thinks I must be channeling Ms. Cleo or something....And the guy who hit me up on the personal here has decided to pop up again after being missing for about two weeks like nothing even happened...I am thinking Dr.Jekyl and Mr. Hide for real and it's ashame because at one point I had high hopes for him...He just hit me up now on Yahoo and I am giving him hell.

I went grocery shopping today too and it was pure hell. It's a place where you can get things cheap and is usually crowded no matter what day of the week you go or time unless it's close to closing. But you don't want to go then because everything is gone. You get the picture. Anyway, folks are just down right rude in there. It is crowded and people are trying to get by, will slam into you without saying excuse me. By the time I was done in there, I was pissed off and could've slapped a few people. And it just made me downright exhausted.....

I am going to run, time to give myself my shot...

Things went from bad to worse.  My sweet friend's neice was confirmed to have bacterial meningitis late last night.  They tested the fluid they drained from around her brain.  Right now her brain is swelling and bleeding.  She's on a respirator and not doing good at all.  She's only 15.  We've had 2 young people die of meningitis in our state in the last couple of weeks already.  Another boy has been fighting it for 2wks and is about to go home.  Then there's Dusty.  Her entire family has to be on antibiotics. Her 3yr old brother is home-bound until he's completed his round. They've put out a bulliten on the local news stations.  The highschool she attended is giving out free meningitis vaccines this Friday.  I wish they'd give out antibiotics, too.  The vaccine won't do any good if someone has already caught it from her.

We also found out today that there's been another death.  I'm at a complete loss right now.  I don't want to even answer my phone tomorrow.

Hey everyone.

Betty- I just had my experience waiting for the cable guy. There was a Seinfeld episode where Kramer was fed up with waiting for either the phone or cable guy so when they said they needed to come by Kramer told them they could come between this time and that time. It was funny. My description doesn't do it justice.

Cristy- Robert sounds like a typical 5 year old.  :) I am sure you will have a good conference.

Queen- "It's Raining Men"  ;D That's all I have to say.

Well, I had more conferences today and all was good. The mother that scheduled another conference with me today canceled.....whatever.

That's about all for me. Things are quite. I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing.

Mum-You posted at the same time as me. I am sorry that all that is happening. That is scary about the meningitis. Hang in there.

Morning all,

Cristy, good news about your numbers!  I think all kids Robert's age I have known have had the same problems.

Queen, there is a grocery store here like that.  It's called Aldi's.  They have food cheap, but are constantly crowded and the people are shits.  I can hardly stand to go there.  Of course, here, Wal-Mart's like that also.  Good luck handling all those men.

Mum, I'm sorry about your friend's niece.  They've had problems with meningitis here also.  It's a tough situation.

Andrea, I remember that Seinfeld episode.  Kramer told the cable guy when to come, then took off, and the cable guy finally tracked him down.  It was funny.   Are you done now with the parent conferences?

Well, the Comcast guy showed up yesterday.  I told him what was wrong, but he acted like I didn't know what I was talking about.  So, I told him exactly what my brother's girlfriend said and did.  He said "well, I'm going to check the wires on the pole."  Of course, that did nothing.  So, he came back in and said, "ok, I'll change out the modem." (duh)  Why is it that some people act like you don't know anything?  I wanted to tell him off, but then he started telling me about his house payment being too high, and how he, his wife and kids are having to move into a 2 bedroom apartment.  So, I felt bad for the guy.  He was here about an hour.

Otherwise, class last night went well. It was the Anatomy class.  Tonight is the independent study, which only lasts for like 45 minutes.  Most of that is done outside of the classroom.  And hopefully I'll have enough umph to go to the HIV support group.  I believe tonight, we're to go bowling.  My therapist is supposed to come over today; other than that, I'll be doing schoolwork.  You all have a good day.

Afternoon---

Not much going on here. Finally got off my ass to clean up and do the laundry. About a week's worth of both. I just didn't feel like doing anything and I pay water here now. Still trying to find a pcp. I filled out an application for one which was kind of funny to me. I mean I have filled out papers that ask your medical history but this one was like 8 pages long. So, I will see how that goes.

I really have no plans other than to fill out the paperwork for the rent rebate. How's that for excitement. Yeah, it seems like it is raining men but Rey is the only one I really see. The others, I talk to online because they are in a different city. Am chatting with Rey at the present moment, it's funny because we are both cleaning and chatting in between. Not sure if I am going to see him today but it is definitely overdue.

Betty--Yeah, we have Aldi's here too but I haven't been there in a long time. This place is called Erie County Farms and you can get stuff cheaper than other places most of the time. Yeah, our WalMart gets crowded too and they never seem to have enough check outs open.

Mum-- I am also sorry about your friend's niece. I didn't know meningitis was going around like that, wow.

Since I have no cable at the moment, I am still watching my dvds. I am kind of shopping around for service between Dish Network and Directtv. I would really hate to have to give Time Warner my money, freaking pimps!!!!

Well, that is it for me....

One of these days I'll be able to come to you all with good news.  Unfortunately, this is not the day.  I finally got a phone call from some doctor whose name I didnt' care enough about to commit to memory.  He gave me Mim's ID numbers.  She's still undetectable, but her CD4s are still dropping.

In May, 2008: CD4 1207              In Sept, 2008: CD4 988                    In March, 2009: CD4 633

The guy who called me assured me that "somebody" would be taking Doc's patients within a month.  I told him that was not reassuring and gave him a rundown of what she's been through since Dec. 8th.  He got very quiet and said he'd make some phone calls - she needs to be seen.  YOU THINK??  I just kept telling him that she's only 8 - she's only 8.

I'm pissed.  Simple as that.  I want to run off and cry, but I don't have that luxury.

Mim is having tenitus.  She says that sometimes it sounds like wind in her head, other times like someone is screaming, and today, like glass is breaking in her ear.  She is begging me to take her to a doctor who can make it stop.  I can't.  There's nothing I can do other than what I'm doing.  Which, at the end of the day, isn't much.

Hi GFs~

Ohhhhh its been too long since my last post.  I think it was on Queen's birthday.  So much has happened, and I am exhausted, but its all good stuff!

In a nutshell, I am renting my place and I have officially moved in with Iceman.  The kids and I are adjusting to each other, but things are pretty good.  They are only here every other weekend.  Cheech turned 15 on Groundhog Day and is doing GREAT!  You know I love my doggie!  I put in my two week notice at my job this past Monday, told them I wasn't getting paid enough.  They gave me the biggest raise of my life, so I am still there.   ;D

I get my labs done in the next few weeks, so we'll see how I'm doing.  My brother is home from overseas (Army) so I am grateful for his safety.

I need to go shower before Survivor comes on.  Perhaps I can catch up this weekend and get back in the swing of things.  I have really missed all of you SO much.  All I do is commute and sleep, but I am doing pretty good.  Iceman is the best!

More Soon,

~ Cindy

Hi everyone. Lucas had his recheck with the eye doctor. He's still off by 20%,  :-\ but at least it hasn't gotten worse. I've noticed his balance and stacking ability have both improved since the surgery :). The eye doctor recommended we do his vision therapy exercises and patch the left eye for an hour a day. Keeping the eye covered is fun ::). His favorite word this week is "no". He hates the eye drops we have to use for another week yet. Daddy told him yesterday he knew it sucked, but he had to get his drops. Now when it's time for drops Lucas says "SUCKS!!" ::)
Tomorrow Lucas has a playdate. Kayla is a few months younger, and is also a preemie with CP. We're going to meet at the library. After the library we'll hit "Kid to Kid"(2nd hand kids store) to look for bargins.

Moon - Welcome back. I'm glad you and Iceman are doing well. Congratulations on the raise. ;D
Mum - I can't believe what you're going through. :'(  My heart goes out to you and your friends. I'm still praying for Mini. Lucas sends her a hug and kiss. :-*
Queene - so many men, so little time ;D. Have fun!
Netta - I hope your Hubby gets the job.
Well I've got to go. We're headed to Western PA to see the family this weekend. I hope you all have a Good weekend. See you when I get Back,

hie ladies

nothing much going on here. just got a snake in my kitchen the other day. i was half hysterical and ran to my landlord and he came and killed it. it was small (bout 15cm) and black. i kept thinking of the snake that i saw on tv that cleopatra used to kill herself. it was small and black too. i told mr outof town and he said 'make sure when i come over theres none of those snakes there' i think he;s more afraid of snakes than i am ::)  i was jumping at shadows and creeping about the place peering carefully to check for funny shapes for days afterwards, just in case one of the snake's brothers decided to come and look for it

mum - poor mini, please give her a hug from me. And one for you too..

cindy - hi, its been ages! congrats on moving in with iceman

netta - im keeping fingers crossed your hubby gets the job..

Good Morning!

Tend- A Snake!! It would take me more than days to get over that. I always think about those people who find those thing in the toilet.

Netta- I hope your husband gets the job  :)

Cindy- It is sooooo nice to hear from you. It's obvious you are VERY happy  ;D. Keep us updated.

#1 Mom- I am glad Lucas is doing well. That is funny about the "sucks". Kids are funny.

Mum- I am so sorry that Mini has to go through all that. I wonder what is causing her numbers to drop? She seems like she is such a trooper.

Queen- What exactly happened with the cable company?

Betty- I'm glad you got your computer fixed. Did they charge you for that?

I have one more conference today after school and that is it...Thank God! This week has wiped me out! I can't wait for this weekend. I am definitely sleeping in tomorrow  :)
That's about all. Talk to you guys later! :)

Morning all,

Queen, why don't you get your case manager at the ASO to find you a new doctor?  That's what they get paid for, to help us.

Mum, geesh.  I'm sorry about Min's numbers and continued problems with her head/ears.  What's going to happen with the ear thing?  Do you have another appointment with Dr. Daniel?  Good luck with getting that new ID doc.  Keep pushing, the squeeky wheel gets the oil.

Cin, OMG!  I'm so happy to hear from you.  Congrats on moving in with Ice!  But, we all knew that would happen sooner or later.  And congrats about getting that raise also.  It sounds like things are going along smoothly for you.  Yay!

Netta, I hope your hubby gets that job at the university.  I'll keep him in my thoughts.  Please let us know how things are going.

#1 mom, that's great news about Lucas' balance and stacking being improved.  Have fun on the playdate.

Tendai, holy crap.  I'm thinking about encountering a snake while having roaches on my back.  Geesh, you sure have had your fill of critters lately.  It must be pretty common there, though, like here in a lot of the Southern states, bigger bugs are more common than in the North.  When I moved to Alabama the first time and walked into my brother's house, I saw the biggest, most gruesome bug on the kitchen counter and asked my brother what it was.  He said "it's a roach. Welcome to Alabama."

Andrea, congrats on making it through the week.  I hope you have a restful weekend.  And, I'm not supposed to get charged for the cable guy's call.  I shouldn't, it was their modem that was faulty.

Today I'm supposed to be going out to lunch with my best gay friend.  Hopefully we can find a place that has corned beef and cabbage, I've been craving that.    Last night, after my independent study, I went to the HIV support group, which was at a bowling alley.  I don't bowl, but I had a lot of fun watching everyone else.  I stayed up late, which is why I'm so late getting on here.  My diet has totally fallen apart, and I've been staying up late again pigging out.  I always do good on something for about a week before it all falls apart again.  But, maybe like what happened with my stopping smoking, if I keep sticking to it, it'll eventually stick.         What's every one doing this weekend?

Sorrow may last for the night, but JOY comes in the morning!!  Well, Ok, for us it came in the afternoon.  I can now officially announce our NEW ID doctor: Ellis Frazier!  Our first appointment is Thursdy, March 26th at 1:30pm.  It's a 4+ hour drive so we'll drop the other kids with my parents at 9am.  I can't WAIT!!

And, that's not all, ladies.  Wednesday night, they prepared my friend for the death of her neice.  They called in the family and told them that she likely wouldn't live through the night.  WELL, let me tell you what.  Thursday afternoon, they took her off the respirator, she walked a bit around her room, and ate a piece of pizza.  *SNAP!*  They are expecting her to stay in the hospital for 2 more weeks to finish off her antibiotics and have another tap done.  Then, she'll go to a rehab place for about 3wks.  I don't think her rehab will take that long.

JOY! JOY! JOY!

Mim is about the same.  She said the noise in her ears is quieter today, but her head still hurts.  Betty, we're thinking it's Meniere's Disease.  She has all the classic symptoms.  It's what we'll be talking about with our NEW doctor.  Damn, that feels good to say!  Bless you Mike for putting us in contact with him!

I need to fax the office some information.  I'm now breathing easier.

Morning all,

TreDai, good to hear from you.  I'm glad things are going well.

Mum, great news about the doc and your friend's niece.  It's so good to have some good things finally happen.  I hope the doc is everything you're hoping for.

I didn't do any homework yesterday.  I had been doing some every single day for the past two weeks, and I was tired of it, so yesterday I spent homework-free.  I went to a local bakery, and got some sweets (bad, I know).  I had lunch with my best gay friend.  We went to a restaurant that has traditional corned beef dinners, so I got one.  I know corned beef is about the worst kind of beef one can eat, but I love it once a year, so diets be damned.  Today I'm going to color my hair and do homework.  I hope you all have a good day.

Good Morning Ladies. Hope everyone is safe , dry and warm. It's cold and rainy here.                                                                                    Cindy, it is so good to hear from you. Things seem to be going well for you and I wish you all the happiness you so richly deserve.                           Minismum, YAH!!!!!!!!!!    New doctor. That is just fantastic.  That is wonderful  that your friend's niece is recovering. If she can eat pizza , she will be okay ;D.      Sorry that Mini's head still hurts, hopefully that will go away soon. I'd rather almost anything but a headache. Sending mini, you and your whole family ((((hugs)))) and hoping she feels better soon.                                      Betty, glad you got to go out to lunch and enjoy cornedbeef and cabbage. Stick to the diet and eventually it will become habit, I hope                        :).                                                                                                         Andrea, you deserve to sleep in. Dealing with people, especially parents can be exhausting.                                                                   TreDai, enjoy your weekend.                                                             Tendai, damn, a snake in the house. Honey, I would have gone running , too.                                                                                  Lucas'mom, glad his surgery has made some improvement. I hope he has lots of fun at his play date    Hope you and your family have a great weekend.                                                                              Nothing going on here. It's cold and rainy outside but that means I can catch up on laundry. I am off work this weekend and that is fine with me. I worked 10 hours Thursday(with a 2 hour break in between) and it just kicked my ass. I made $100 so it was worth it and today I feel much better.                  I'll check back in later.    Cristy

Good Morning!

Betty- That sounds like my kind of day! LOL! You have to enjoy the "bad" food once in a while.  :)

Cristy- That's a long day! Serving people is exhausting. You have to deal with all kinds of different people. Enjoy your weekend off.

Mum- Good news!  :) I am glad your friend's niece made a turn around. I hope the new doctor will be able to help Mini

Not doing much today. I have an appointment at the doctor for the one I missed last week.... ::) and other then getting my stuff together for the field trip and correcting papers I don't have much planned.  Stay warm and dry everyone!

First ladies, I must apologize.  I have been totally self-absorbed this last week and haven't commented on any of your posts.  I went back this morning and re-read the entire thread and realized how much was going on in your lives that I totally missed the first time through.

Mom: Good to hear Lucas's surgery went well.  Have you tried letting him color his patch before you put it on?  May not work, but when #6 needed patching, we gave her crayons and stickers to decorate it.  We also put in "Pirates who don't do anything" movie.  As long as she wore her pirate patch, she could watch her pirate movie.  She kept her patch on and I've not memorized yet another kids' movie.

Betty: How was your day off?  You are far more disciplined than I would ever be about homework.  Hang in there, babe, you are SO almost there!  When is your Spring break?  Hopefully you won't have any work to do so that you can just take it easy and breathe for awhile.

Cristy: how'd the meeting go with Robert's teacher.  I can't remember if it was last Monday or tomorrow Monday.  If it's tomorrow, good luck!  His behavior sounds like typical 5yr old stuff to me.  But, what do I know?  I've never had a "typical" 5yr old ;)

Andrea: All I can say is better you than me.  I would rather deal with 100 kids than 5 parents.  In my experience, they either agree with you, or they hate you.  Usually their feelings directly coorespond to their kid's grades.  Will you be teaching summer school again this year?  When is your spring break?  Do kids even get one anymore?  I'm not sure what they're going to do in our school systems here.  Kids already have to go until June 8th - contracts say they can't go past that.  But, they will also start back the middle of August.

Legislators here are trying to toughen the 180 day law.  The proposed bill says that NO school will get off for Christmas until they've reached 90 days of in-class instruction.  Then, they will NOT get out of school until they've reached 180 days.  The manditory cut-off day will be moved to June 30th with the option of beginning school on August 15th.  To me it's punishing kids for the weather.  It's not their fault, or anybody's as far as that goes, that we live in the mountains and it SNOWS.  3 built-in snow days isn't enough.  Especially since after the snow, there comes flooding.  It's all screwed up.

Cindy: Wow!  I blinked twice, turned around, and you're entire life did a 180!  Congrats on the raise.  Whatever they gave you, I'm sure you deserved more.  Glad you got your house rented, too.  In today's economy you just never know.  Happy birthday to Cheech (same day as mine)!

Tendai: I would've peed my pants.  We live out in the woods, so snakes are one of those things, but still... Little black snake, huh?  I call those West Virginia Anacondas..lol.  My mom says they aren't poisonous and will eat mice.  That's all fine and dandy, but they need to keep their behinds in the woods and out of my yard.  I'm not one for creepy crawlies. *shiver*

Life here's been pretty crazy.  I took our middle son into Medbrooke Friday night.  He'd had croup and a low grade fever that reacted well to Ibuprofin.  Then, he spiked a fever of 106 so I took him in.  3hrs and blood work later, we left with the PA thinking it was a sinus infection.  By yesterday morning he was fine.  I should've guessed and saved my money - but you just never know.  Then last night, our #6 (who'll be 5 on St. Patty's Day) decided it was her turn and ran a 100.8 fever.  We gave her tylenol, she slept for 3 hours, and seemed to be fine.  We'll see how she wakes up this morning.  What's weird is that they were both fine during the day, then 3pm hits and the fever starts.  Weird - sounds about right for my family.

If I missed anyone, I'm terribly sorry.  I got no sleep last night and at this point I'm running on fumes.  Much love to you all!

Happy Birthday Netta! ;D ;D

Mum- You are so busy and I wouldn't worry about responding to each and every one of us. I don't mind.  :) We will not have summer school for elementary kids this year because of all the budget cuts. They do however have to offer it to middle and high school. I am going to have to get a job this summer...yikes!

Nothing happening. I am going to get my lesson plans done and get ready for tomorrow. I have to find my sleeping bag...LOL.

Have a good day everyone!

netta - HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!

viv - what type of job will you be looking for?

mum - congrats on the new doctor. and your friends niece, thats just great!

cristy - i hear you about the non-stop talking. my nephew is just learning to speak and he wont shut up sometimes.  i was joking to his mother that she shouldnt have gotten the tongue-tie he had when he was a baby fixed :)

i had a quiet weekend. tried to do some gardening and trim the jungle thats growing outside my cottage (aka Critter Cabin :D) but i was quickly defeated, i think it needs a professional.  so instead i was watching Supernatural on DVD. Used to be i'd get freaked out by all those ghosts and demons but in this case i was too busy salivating over Dean (Jensen Ackles)  ;)   He's the main reason why i watch it

Good morning ladies!  I can't believe Spring is only 5 days away.  Our weather is still crazy - 56F today, 69 on Wednesday and 48F on Thursday.  No wonder my sinuses are going haywire.  Our wee one - whose birthday is tomorrow! - is still running a fever.  I stayed home with her yesterday morning and Hubby stayed with her last night.

Cristy, I hear you about the talking.  Our youngest son, he'll be 6 on the 29th, NEVER shuts up!  He talks in his sleep, at the table with a mouth full of food, and to himself when no one else is around.  Poor baby is always being told to quit talking.  His siblings will leave the room - but he keeps on talking like they're still there. *shrug*  As bad as it is, our oldest son has taken to talking non-stop about things he knows absolutely NOTHING about. He's decided that he's an expert about everything.  Drives me batty.

Not much going on today.  We have school and I have laundry.  In other words, same ol' same ol'.
Have a great Monday!

Morning ladies,

Cristy, I don't know why kids talk so much.  I know my grandson can go on rants sometimes.  I don't remember if my granddaughter ever did.

Camms, what's going on?

Mum, that school year calendar is insane.  Kids should not be expected to be in school that long.  Oh, by the way, I don't get a spring break.  Since where I go is divided into 2 8-week sessions, there's no break in between.  I don't know what the reasoning is for this, but whatever.  Tell your little one happy birthday from me and Poppy tomorrow.

Netta, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  I'm glad you found us.  You're a nice lady, and it's nice chatting with you.

Andrea, I hope you have fun on that field trip.  And I hope it stays dry.

Tendai, a jungle, aye?  What are you going to do with it?  I'm not good at those kinds of things.  I lose patience pretty easily with stuff I can't master within the first 15 minutes.

Yesterday was my best friend's son's 21st birthday.  We went to a casino (it was my very first time at one).  First, we ate at the buffet and OMG, was it delicious.  Everything was very tastey.  Anyway, I ended up playing the quarter poker machines.  I played the machines that have the handle you pull, but I was losing money very quickly on those.  I took only a certain amount of money with me, and walked out with $2.75 (hee).  Everyone who went, though, left with almost nothing. My friend's son took all his birthday money and said he's never going back there. :D  I had a lot of fun.  I told my friend we're going to have to do that again someday.

Today I'm supposed to ride to Ft. Wayne with my friend.  She got a new car last year and the lugnuts have this certain type of lock on them that only the car dealer in Ft. Wayne has the key to.  I think she's going to have them taken off, or some such.  Ft. Wayne is only about an hour and 1/2 from here, so it won't be too bad.  Other than that, of course I have homework.  You all have a good day.

Hey everyone. Just a quick drop by. The field trip went well. The weather was beautiful, but very cold at night and pre dawn. The kids had a good time and were exhausted when we returned to school. I barely made it. I just got out of the shower and I want to go to bed. Talk to you all later!

Quick drop in.

Andrea, I repeat: better you than me!  LOL...we tried camping when #6 was 14mths old.  We have a big ol' 3 room tent that sleeps 12.  We fit 6 air matresses and a playpen.  2 girls were in one room, the 3 boys in the other room, hubby, #6, and I were in the middle.  I ended up sleeping in the car.  We planned on staying 3 days.  We left the next morning.  Next time, we take the RV.  Did I say "next time" ???

TreDai, thanks hun.  I feel like things are finally headed in the right direction.  9 days and counting....

I'm exhausted.  We've had a crazy busy couple of days.  When #6 got up this morning, we all sang "Happy Birthday" to her.  She screamed bloody murder, yelled "I QUIT!", went back to her room and slammed the door.  Funny, I did the same thing when I turned 30 ;).  Needless to say, we didn't celebrate today.  My parents are coming over tomorrow for dinner, cake, and gifts.  Hopefully, #6 will be in a better mood.  Oh, about the whole "you're-five-and-now-must-go-potty"...yeah, well, let's just say Hubby bought her another box of diapers last night. :-\

Tomorrow is supposed to be 70 and sunny.  Thursday, we'll be lucky to hit 50.  After lunch, we're kicking the kids outside for some solar therapy.  Hope you all are having a great day.  Tomorrow is hump day - take advantage if you can ;D

Much love!

Hi everyone.
Vivyt - I'm glad you survived your camping trip. ;D
Mum - Happy B-Day to #6 :). I'm praying new PID can help min. Thanks for the suggestion for patching. I decided to cheat a little. Lucas has sunglasses that I popped the lenses out and had put Oppenheimer lines on. They curve to help block light on the side, so taping the whole left side is very similar to patching. Lucas really likes "Bob the Builder" so I tell him he can watch if he wears his glasses ;).
Netta - Happy belated Birthday! :)
Betty - Any time you leave a casino with money in your pocket is a good trip ;). If you go again make sure to get a casino card if they have one. They figure if you go to the casino they'll win so they give away money, meals, shows, etc. to try to get you to come often. As long as you stick to your "budget" it can be a great time. Before Lucas, we use to go to A.C. several times a year. We would spend the weekend and our room, meals and drinks were comped. Also show tickets when we wanted. 8)
Cristy - Thank you, Lucas had a great time on his playdate.  :)

We had a nice visit with our families this weekend. I love this picture of Lucas and Mykayla my Goddaughter (cousin's baby).
Well, I better go. It's suppose to be 70 tomorrow. We'll go to storytime, then picnic at the park ;D. I'll need my rest  ;).

#1 - what a sweet picture. have a great time at the picnic :)

betty - have a safe trip.  well it will be a jungle soon if nothings done. you know, the place could be so pretty if only someone maintained the yard properly. i guess they're too old to be able to do it themselves or something. i sure cant do anything since its not my place but i wish they get someone to at least just mow the lawn and hack at the foliage.

mum - lol, isnt she a bit too young to be hating her birthday. have a great party

andrea - glad you had fun on the trip. cant wait to do it again?  ;)

cindy - hope the tummy's better now...

i feel like crap, got this awful cold and i cant stop blowing my nose and coughing even though i got pills from my boss. i think the dosage is too low or something, those pills used to work quickly. i hope thats got nothing to do with my damn virus or i might start panicking. oh well. i noticed that a lot of times i catch colds or get the runs  just before or during my period, even before i was diagnosed. Coincidence? or does menstruation affect the immune system? ???

Morning ladies,

Cin, I hope you're feeling better.

Andrea, I'm glad the trip went well.  I was hoping there'd be no disasters.

TreDai, hey!  What's going on with you?

Mum, I'm sorry, but I had to chuckle after reading #6's reaction to people singing to her first thing in the morning.  I'd probably do the same thing if I didn't realize what was actually going on.  Anyway, I hope the party turns out well and that she does alright.  You sound like you're getting our weather a couple days late.  Yesterday it was 72, today it's not supposed to get above 56, then tomorrow, not above 48.  It's the strangeness of spring.

#1 mom, I loved that picture!  That's the sweetest thing I've seen in a long time.  Oh, I have a casino card.  And it won me 5 cents (hee).  Everyone who plays in the casino, has to have a card to put in the slots in the machines or games they're playing.  I don't know when I'll go back, but maybe if I do, I'll win one of those things you were talking about.

Tendai, I used to get sick all the time before my period, especially sinus problems.  I'm sure menstruation affects the immune system.  I hope you get to feeling better.

My online class is driving me absolutely insane.  It's getting very detailed and it's really made for people who have advanced math minds.  I'm trying to look at just one task at a time, instead of looking at everything I have to do, which might really push it over the edge.  I just want to pass; I don't care what grade I get, as long as it's a passing one.

Today I'm meeting one of my Native American friends at McDonald's for coffee (yeah, McDonald's coffee is that good).  I also have to clean the bathroom and go to the store.  Then tonight is my Anatomy class.  We're having an exam. :-\    And, of course, there's homework to keep me busy in between.  I hope you ladies have a good day.

My parents just left after #6's little "party".  It was just them and us.  We had cake and dinner (in that order  ;D)  She was a little better about her birthday today.  She still tells people she's 4 - oh, well, sometimes I tell people I'm 20..lol.

The kids were outside most of the day.  We had early dismissal and had a weather day. ;)  It was way too pretty to be cooped up inside.

#1: whatever works, hun!  At least it got him to wear it.  When does he go back to the eye specialist?

Betty: I'm glad you had a good time.  I'm nost sure I'd do well with an online class either.  Computers and I don't get along well enough..lol. An anatomy exam, huh?  Do you get to pick who's anatomy you want to examine?

Our ENT called today. The Appointment Nazi struck again! Mim goes in to see the neurologist Monday morning at 9am.  That's earlier than the original appointment.  So, we'll be able to see neuro before we see our new Doc and both before we see the ENT again on April 7th.  It'll be a nutso, crazy week, but if it gets us some answers, I dont' care.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

What a beautiful day! ;D I wish today's weather would stay rather than be a tease. :P
It's exciting watching Lucas learn to use the playground equipment! We had a great day. ;D

Mum - Wow, I was 25 till I wanted to shave years off my age. #6 is starting early ;D. I'm glad mini will be getting in to see doctors soon. I hope they can give you some answers. Lucas goes 3/30 to the vision therapist and 4/1 to his eye surgeon, so we'll see how he's doing then.

Cindy & Tendai - I hope you feel better soon.

Betty - I hope your exam went well!

Morning all,

Netta, what's going on?  Did you find out anything from housing yet?

Mum, I'm glad the party went well.  And I'm glad Min's got some appointments coming up to hopefully determine what's going on.

#1, that's a really cute picture of Lucas. I think it's neat that you're posting pictures and sharing your son's life with us.  Thanks.

The exam last night wasn't too hard.  We're having a quiz next week over the bones in the skull (which includes everything, like the face, etc.).   One of the reasons I don't do well with the online class is that it's a science class, and for those types of classes, I like a teacher I can actually conversate with.  I don't understand every question we have on our weekly assignments, and it takes a few days to get a direction in which to go from the instructor.  And she asks us to do these things to post about, like looking up in the sky and telling what kind of clouds we saw that day, which direction they were going in, and how many feet above the earth they were (now, how are we supposed to know that).  We have three or four things like that to do every week and post about, plus the questions we have to answer, which takes me four written pages, plus weekly quizzes.  There's more work in there than my other two classes.  Anyway, after this week, there's only five weeks left (I think it's five, maybe it's only four).

Today, my therapist comes over, tonight's my independent study class, and the HIV support group.  In between will be homework (what else is new).  I hope you all have a good day.

Good gravy on my mashed potatoes! :o  What in the name of all that is good and pure ever possessed me to teach a research writing class?  And worse, what in the name of every high mountain made me think it was a good idea for my procrastinating, OCD, if-he-doesn't-have-a-stressed-related-illness-by-the-time-he's-12, 11yr old to take it?  Everything is an argument.  Our class is tomorrow morning and he is JUST now deciding to change his topic.  Which means that he's JUST now doing his research and JUST after that will be doing his notecards - which JUST so happen to be due tomorrow.  How bad would it look if the teacher's kid showed up without his work?  I need a V-8, Calgon to take me away, and and a kit-kat bar.

Just wanted to share the insanity that is my today.

Hi all!

Betty - I don't know how you get it all done. Good luck with your quiz. Thank you for the compliment. I know I'm biased, but I think Lucas is a handsome little boy. He is my little miracle. When I'm feeling down, his smile lifts me up. Sometimes I just feel the need to share ;D.

Mum - Good luck with the class. You always seem to pull through, and I have faith you'll pull this off also ;). I'm not sure what you have available in your pantry. When we've had a houseful and I wanted a no fuss, feel good meal spaghetti with meatsauce, salad and garlic bread did the trick ;). (Too bad Lucas will only eat the garlicbread ::). I miss having pasta.)

BT- Good Luck with your homework and your quiz.

Mom#1- Thanks for sharing the pic of Lucas, he is too cute.

Mum- Sounds like you need take out ;D I hope that Min is feeling better.

Hi Tre- Nice to see you!

Ann- Nice to hear from you! Hope things are going well on the rock. Great title!

Ten- I hope that you are feeling better.  I am not sure about period and getting colds thing, my period has been kicking my ass lately, I feel like I get hit by a truck.

Viv- Glad your field trip went well.

Cin- Congrats on the move and the pay raise.

Hi Keeping  ;)

I have been trying to keep up with what is going on with everyone but have not been posting because I just feel like crap!  How do you know if you are depressed? I was talking to the therapist and she asked if I had ever thought about going on wellbutrin but I checked the side effects and they look awful.  Then to make me feel worse, the lady that I help out, her daughter is in the hospital with liver failure and I have been taking her back and forth to visit.  She just found out today that there is not much that can be done and that she is not eligible for a transplant.  I feel so sad for the both of them.

Hope everyone has a good night.  Thank goodness that spring is finally here!  Sorry if I missed anyone. Hey Queen!!

Has anyone heard from Drag?

Life improved about 8:30.  Which, coincidentally, coincides with the time that the last munchkin drifted off into happy-happy joy-joy land. ;D

I dug through our freezer and found a bag of boneless / skinless chicken, monterrey jack cheese, and some spaghetti sauce.  I was going to make some parmesean chicken, but as I was making dough for bread sticks, I added some sauce, chunked the chicken and threw it on top, a bit more sauce, smather in cheese, bake for 25 minutes and VIOLA!  Chunky chicken pizza ala Mum.  It wasn't half bad and there's no leftovers.  I added some green beans seasoned with onions and garlic sauteed in olive oil.  Now my pantry is officially empty.  I've got a 2-page list for tomorrow.

My dear eldest son, after sitting and complaining for nearly 3 hours, decided that he'd be better served if he bucked it up, admitted that he wasn't listening for the hour and a half that I spent explaining over and over what he needed to do, and got to work.  Unfortunately, he has 2 tests tomorrow (Science and Constitutional history) so he had to study after dinner.  He'll spend his gym time tomorrow working on his notecards.

#1: our youngest is the pickiest eater I've ever met in my LIFE.  All she ate today was a piece of the pizza I made, sans the chicken.  I don't know how she makes it - she might eat 1 thing a day and that's it.  She turned 5 on Tuesday and only weighs 35lbs.  She doesn't even have a favorite food.  What she eats today, she won't touch tomorrow.  I wish I had that problem - I love chocolate all day everyday.

That's it from this side of the Mason-Dixon.  The crew must be up and ready by 7:30 so we can drop off the Honda to get the brakes changed before going to co-op.  I'll talk to you fine ladies tomorrow evening.

Morning all,

TreDai, thanks for the encouragement.  I try not to be idle for too long (idle hands and all that).

Mum, I'm glad your day improved.  I hope the eldest gets caught up.  You know, my daughter, when she was little, would never eat anything except cheese on her pizza.  And the only way she used to eat eggs was if they were scrambled with cheese in them.  I'm with you on the chocolate-I could eat it for meals three times a day, plus snacking on it in between.  Good luck today with the shopping.

#1mom, Lucas is a doll.  I have to tell you, when you were mentioning Lucas' bringing you up, I was thinking about how my cat does that to me sometimes.  I can be in a bad mood, and talk to her, and she just looks at me and blinks her eyes, and that makes me feel loved.  And that's a good feeling.

Hey Snow, miracle of miracles (us hearing from you). ;D    I take Welbutrin for depression.  I don't think I've had any horrific side effects from it.  I try not to read up too much about the side effects of medication, because if I do, I'll either develop one of the more "serious" side effects, or I won't take something I need.  Of course, I'm not saying everyone should do this.  We should all make informed decisions.  But, there are other antidepressants to choose from, if you don't want to take the Welbutrin.  I hear a lot about Zoloft working for people.  Have you ever tried that?  And I don't think anyone's heard from Drag.  I wonder about her also and pray she's alright.

Andrea, when do you guys get spring break?

Today I have some things to finish for that dreaded online class for this week, and the new HIV women's support group is this afternoon.  Keep fingers crossed that that goes well.  Last night, after my independent study class, I went to the regular HIV support group.  The coordinator was telling us that the ASO is only funded through the end of this year.  If they close down, I'd have to drive more than an hour to get to the next closest ASO.  Hopefully the one here will pick up funding, so they can stay open.  Usually once word gets out in the community about them needing money, donations come in.

So, it's going to be homework all weekend.  I have an exam on the bones of the skull in my Anatomy class next week, a lot of homework for the online class, and a paper to write for my independent study.  I hope all you ladies have a good day.  What's everyone up to this weekend?  OH, and happy 1st day of Spring! :)

Wendy, hun, I hope you feel better.

Today is baseball tryouts.  Both our older boys will be trying out at 11 and 12 today.  They'll be put on a team regardless.  The reason for the try-outs is so the coaches don't grab up all the "good" kids and stack their teams.  The kids are "ranked" 1 - 5 for overall skill (batting, catching, and fielding) then each team draws an equal number of 1's, 2's, 3's, etc.  It makes the teams more even and fair.

Mim and our 3 t-ballers don't have to try out.  They only try out kids who are going to be in little league (not coach's pitch or t-ball).  Once our middle son tries out, we're declaring him ineligible for little league so that he can go back to coach's pitch.  He's not ready for little league, but because he's already 9, this is the way we have to do it.

Anyway, we'll take the crew over to the park and have a picnic lunch.  The high today is mid-50's but with tons of sunshine.  The kids will be running around so they'll be fine.  I'll be the one sitting and freezing to death.

The forum is making me crazy.  My entire post is shaking while I'm typing and I'm getting a bit motion sick.
Not sure what's up with that.  Anyone else having thisi problem?

Win- Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well.

Mum-  Have fun at tryouts.  My screen isn't doing anything strange this morning.

BT- I usually don't read the side effects either but I guess I don't understand how it works/helps so I was trying to read up on it. Is it cold there today?  It is chilly here, so much for the first day of spring yesterday :-\

Mum, I don't have problems with my screen shaking.  That sounds like a computer issue.

Snow, yesterday it got up to 57.  Right now it's 39, but it's supposed to get in the low 60's later.

Wendy, I hope you're doing better.  How are you feeling?

Good Morning.

Betty- Hang in there...you're almost done!  ;D

Wendy- Get better soon!

Mum- My screen is ok.

Hello to all my other lady friends!

Today is rainy. It seems odd since we have been getting up to the high 70's and 80's. Oh well, we need it. I have been sick this weekend. I think it might be some kind of cold thing. It has settled in my chest, head, and nose. It's more annoying then anything. There's really nothing going on. Next Sunday I am going to a brunch for HIV + Heteros. I have been wanting to go and I finally went ahead and RSVP'd. It is in Los Angeles. I'm nervous about going by myself but I know it will be a good thing to be around people in the same situation. That's about all.... :)

Have a good day everyone!

Hello----

Sorry, I haven't checked in lately. The past week or so has been really messed up and I have been depressed. I am sure the Atripla is exaggerating things but I am still taking my meds. All the men I have been talking to are now gone. It kind of happened one after the other. Rey, he just stopped communicating with no explanation which bugs me the most because I like to have closure. Dennis, the poz guy who I was really digging, ended up going to jail for beating up his daughter's bf for disrespecting him. His daughter is 17 and pregnant by a 21 year old who pretty much is a bum, no job and not trying to find one. The baby is due next month. I was thinking he would bond out but I don't know how severe the law is in NY. But his cell is now off and his yahoo account closed out so I am thinking he is going to be in there for awhile. And Orlando has just gotten so busy that there is no time for me anymore. It once was raining men now it is a damn drought once again. Story of my life, so I have been depressed and sleeping like crazy.

I can't seem to stop thinking about Dennis though. I have tried getting the number to Riker's. I guess that is where you end up if you live in Queens. But no one answers the damn phone. They have a website for prisoners, checked that but can't seem to find him. Not sure how long it takes to put a prisoner in the system. He hasn't been in trouble in a very long time but am just wondering how long can you get for whipping someone's ass? Here, you usually see the judge the next day and if you can you bond out. You usually only sit if it is the weekend or the beating was bad. The bf did have to go to the hospital though. I think the bf pressed charges just to seperate Dennis from his daughter so he can control her.

Sorry so many of you are not feeling good. You can add me to the list.Besides the depression I have been getting killer headaches the past 4 days. My sister says it is prolly my allergies which I am still not use to dealing with.

Betty, my case manager has been trying to find me other PCP's, none seems to be wanting me. I feel like I have been black balled. And now it seems like every doctor wants you to fill out an application. I am like geez. I am waiting to hear back from one. Everyone is worried that I will run out of insulin. I am well stocked on my hiv meds but down to 2 boxes of Lantus at 50 units. So that may go quick.

That's about it for me..... :-\

Queen, I wonder if you go to a local health clinic and see a doctor there, if he would refer you to one who would see you?  You sure don't need to be running out of your Insulin.

Hello Ladies. sorry it has been a while since I last posted. I have been  just getting back into the work routine and being lazy.                           Lucas'mom, I am biased when it comes to Robert, too. I think he is a handsome little fellow.  Lucas is a cutie also.                                             Minismum, we had the same problem with my oldest being a picky eater. Finally our pediatrician told us just to feed him whatever he would eat.                  You will do a great job teaching the creative writing class.                                                                                            Snow, sorry you are feeling down. Maybe if not wellbutrin, then something else might benefit. Not everyone gets all the side effects and a lot of times they go away after a short period of time. Hope you get to feeling better. Sorry about your friends daughter. I am glad spring is here, too. It is my favorite time of year.                                                                                              Betty, Hope you got lots of homework done this weekend but found time to have a little you time as well                                           Queen, That really sucks about your friend, hopefully the judge will be able to see the whole situation and cut him a break. Hope you find a new PCP soon.  Hopefully the  Atripla blues will ease up.                 Nothing new here.  Stopped talking to the new guy, too self centered for me and he acts too much like my brother. No time for that shit. Robert is good. His teacher thinks he is hyperactive and I think she might be correct. I don't like it at all.  But I did get some books, on the advice of a good friend , and am reading up on it. I am going to talk to his doctor when we go in April for his year checkup.  Now it is time to catch up on house work.  Andrea, Wendy, anyone I neglected to write to, hope you all have a great day.       Later,    Cristy

Morning all,

Andrea, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself at that HIV+ hetero get-together.

Cristy, if you think about putting Robert on medication, please see a psychiatrist who works with children.  I see too many times (with my friends who have kids) outside people saying the kid's "hyper" and they need to go on medication, when that may not be the case.  Maybe there are alternatives to the medications.  Anyway, good luck with that.

My brain is still dead from all the studying.  Today I have to do laundry, and that's about it.  I'm going to do a little studying, but not much.  I'm tired; didn't sleep well.  I kept having bizarre dreams.  Well, I always have bizarre dreams, but last night was more than usual.  Have a good day ladies.

Betty, I am against putting Robert on medications if only because I feel like that is a part of the reason my oldest son is like he is. The books I am reading may suggest some alternate ways to handle it even if he is hyperactive or I will get a referral to a psychiatrist if his pediatrician thinks Robert is hyperactive. I'll let you know what the Doc says after his appointment April 20th.                                                  Hope everyone is having a great day.    Later,  Cristy

I'm here!  ;D My life has been so boring, I have nothing to report...LOL! I have been sick since this weekend. I think it is a cold. I pretty much lost my voice yesterday and am stuffed up beyond belief.
I have also been on the Lexapro for almost 2 weeks and I definitely notice a difference in regards to anxiety.

Betty- How much longer for school? Can you believe that you are so close? YAY!

Cristy- I agree with you. I see too often that parents and some educators are quick to put a label on children when it could be something else entirely. Wait and see.

Queen- I'm sorry about the men....I wonder what happened with Rey?

Wendy- Feel better soon!

Everyone else...HELLO!!!  :) :)

I'm here, too.  Long, crazy, stressful week.  So what's new, right?  Neuro appointment went well yesterday.  No answers, but at least a willingness to look.  Mim has an EEG scheduled for April 4th, with neuro right after.  Still on for our trip Thursday to her new specialist.  I had all MIm's records yesterday changed listing Dr. Frazier as her new primary and signed releases for all reports to go to him and NONE to go to our now ex-PID.

Our youngest son turns 6 on Sunday and I'm trying to figure out what to do.  I think my parents are coming over for lunch after church.  We'll have a cake and he can open his gifts then.  I can't believe that it's been 6yrs already.  Time has FLOWN!

Hubby has to go out of town to see clients, so I'll haul everyone to dance class then on to #1's baseball practice.  Somewhere in there I guess we'll eat dinner.  Just another day.

Time for school.  Talk to you all later!

Hi Ladies, have been feeling krappy lately, so I have not been online. Sinus, alergies, headaches and stomach aches along with nausea. I don't know why but everytime I eat something I have nausea, bloating and gas. My Dh made me take a laxative Sunday, so this helped some. Seems like gingerale is the only thing working. Today I am taking mylanta, generic brand, between meals. it helps some.
Good news,
My DH got the job!!! He started work Monday at the university. He is a maintnance contractor for a company connected with the university. The pay is not much but greatful to be working . His hours are great, 4am to 2pm, M-F ,which means he can keep his doctor appointments. My sister in laws are teasing him saying now I can get a break from him, lol, its true. he was miserable when he wasn't working.!
Hope everyone who is sick is feeling better.
Minsmon- I would sure like it if you post a pic of the kids !
god bless you, yes start writting that book on parenting, you are a pro. It would be a bestseller, just with the darnest things kids say !
Betty- You are on a roll ! blessings to you !! proud of you girl
Queen, don't worry about the dry spell, things will pick up, its spring, time for love!
Love to everyone!!!

Hey EveryOne---

Netta---Congrats on hubby getting the job. I bet that eased up some stress. I am still trying to keep hope alive when it comes to love but I am getting doubtful.

Vivyt--Not sure what happened? The only one I am sure about is the poz guy who went to jail.

I have been trying to snap myself out of the depression by getting out the house some. Now I am low on gas til check day. It was nice today so I went out and checked things on the car like the oil, power steering fluid and tightened up the hubcaps since I lost one already. I also put air in the tire. I haven't been smoking as much as usual but with this depression going on, it seems to have mellowed me out. So, I am not complaining. ;)

Got a raise on my food stamps which was nice, part of the Stimulus thing. I heard that those on disability is suppose to start getting checks in April? Anyone else hear anything?Well, my landlord finally sold the apartment or house that me and my sister live in. Our new landlord lives in California.

I watched some of Obama's speech last night but a friend came over so I didn't hear it all. That's about it for me, I am chatting on Yahoo and watching Carlito's Way with Al Pacino. Have a good night...

Morning everyone,

Andrea, I hope you get to feeling better.  After this week, there's only four more weeks until I'm done with school.  Yeah, it's all a bit surreal right now.

Mum, I'm very anxious to hear what the docs have to say about Min.  I hope they figure something out.  I'm anxious to hear about her new PID doc as well.

Netta, I hope you're feeling better.  Nothing much worse than an upset tummy.  I'm having sinus trouble right now also.  And when they drain into my throat, that makes me nauceous.  Anyway, I hope you or the doc can find something that works to take care of that.

Queen, we on disability are supposed to get $250 besides our usual money with our check in May for our part of the stimulus.  A friend of mine called social security, and he's the one who told me.  Someone else told me also, and he works at SS, so I'm hoping they're right.  When it comes to money the government's supposed to give away, I never believe it until I see it.  And yeah, I got a $2 (yes, two) dollar raise in my food stamps as part of the stimulus thing.  Unbelievable.

I watched part of the President's speech last night.  I'm pretty disgusted right now with Democrats as well as Republicans.  It seems like everyone's been on the take these past few years and I've had it with politics for awhile.

Today's just another day.  Going to do a little shopping, then school tonight.  We have a quiz over the bones in the skull/face.  And in my awful online class, it's midterm time.  I really hope I pass that class.  Anyway, you all have a nice day.

hie ladies

betty - four more weeks hey, at least your're almost thru. good luck on your midterm.   i dont blame for you for sick of politics. even here im not paying attention to politics, its just a circus. after Tsvangirai's wife died in the accident (which we dont believe to be an accident) i just stopped listening to the news and all. you guys have the benefit of being an old democracy so u have a lot of history and have gone thru the worst i think whereas we only know Mugabe's rule so its going to be hard.

netta - sorry u're feeling crappy. get better soon hey.  congrats on your man's new job thats great news..

snow -  sorry u're down. and about your friends daughter. that must be awful.  i heard from Drag a few weeks ago. she's ok.

queen - dont sweat it much about the guys, if it wasnt meant to be it wasnt meant to be. they just werent the right guys.  i hope u feel better soon and manage to get a PCP. hang in there girlfriend

viv - hope your cold's better. im finallly just recovering from mine, just the last bits of a cough to get rid of.  i hope u like the hetero-group and meet lots of great people

cristy - im with you about not medicating Robert. to me it just seems a bad idea to be giving children so young medicine, feel it will mess up how they grow and develop. i dont know..

nothing much going on here. we went to court about the stupid theft case that silly girl laid against my landlord. the magistrate wouldnt let me testify as a witness coz it was my landlord and not his grandson who called me. I mean WTF? they're both accused so what does it matter who actually says the words "we have a witness".  Anyway, im hoping they'll finish with this case once and for all next week friday. my phone rang when we were in there and oh my gosh they all glared at me and the magistrate goes "my dear i can lock you up until 4:45, didnt you see the signs? didnt the officers at the gate tell you no cellphones?" and i was like "oh shit shit shit". Of course i had to kiss her ass apologising. i think thats why she wouldnt let me testify, she then just hated me or something.
as for mr out-of-town i havent seen him for about 2 weeks now.  apparently he;s too broke to come to harare so im like "whatever dude". i know im not going to be begging him to come here no way. he does call everyday at work though and we chat for a few seconds. and airtime is expensive so he cant call on his cellphone. like i said, 'whatever dude' ::)

hugs and kisses to all you guys :-* :-*

Evening Ladies--

Wow, I see the thread has gotten kind of slow. I guess we are all busy doing our thing. I have come to terms with the guy situation and put my focus elsewhere for now. I mean there still is one interest around and he's so busy doing positive things. He has gotten me motivated. I am going to get back on the ball with going to school. If I ever find a PCP, hopefully he will give me Chantix so I can stop smoking. And when that 250 stimulus comes, I am banking it even if it kills me. I went to a car auction tonight with my gay friend and I am determined to save up for a few months so I can go in July when I get my rent rebate. Which I still have to get done but I mailed it in the last week of March last year so I know I will get it in July. There were so many nice cars going for anywhere between 200- 700 dollars. I almost fainted. So, it may be a few more months without cable in my future...

It's been rainy and windy here today. Now they are talking snow but I guess not much. I hope you all are having a good evening. I am feeling renewed....

Morning Ladies

I have not been posting  lately.
It is hectic from this side of the world.

At work they have laid off 5500 employees and in our office alone they have laid off 23.
I thank GOD , I was not told to go home.
The people were told on Monday that tommorrow Friday is their last day.

The tension is too much and it is getting on me.

Enough about me, hope all you well and coping.

Will start chatting once my house / life is in order. ;)

With luv

Happy, it's really good to hear from you again.  We can all relate to hectic life situations.  Be assured that when things settle down, we'll be here for you.

Queen, my uncle owns a used car dealership and I was like you when he told me how little he had to pay for some of the cars on his lot.  They were NICE cars with low mileage.  The place he goes is only for dealers and has bank repos.  There's even an airplane there for auction from an estate sale.  The benefactor didn't want to sell it outright because he has to pay taxes on the sale price.  So, he decided to sell it at auction hoping to get rid of it cheaply.

In about 2 1/2hrs we'll be off on our Meet-the-Doc journey.  I want so badly for this to work out.  It's going to be a rough road for a while, I know, with changing her meds.  That part I'm NOT looking forward to and pray hard that the side-effects will be minimal (non-existant) and depart quickly (never show up).  Mim's just excited for the trip.  She was, however, disappointed last night when she found out we weren't flying ;)

I'll try to let you ladies know something tonight.  If not, it will be tomorrow after co-op.  The trip is about 4hrs one way.  Long day, but a good day.

Morning all,

Tendai, good to hear from you.  In this newspaper magazine (the Parade) this past weekend, it listed the world's worst dictators, and do you know, Mugabe was #1.  He replaced the dictator from North Korea (I don't know how to spell his name).  I do keep hoping you all will get some relief soon.

Queen, good luck with the school thing.  It really is worth it, all the studying.  I know I complain, but I'm glad I decided to go back.   And I only took the Chantix for four weeks, and it's been over two months since I've smoked.  So good luck with that also.  Will your ID doc give you a script for Chantix?

Happy, good to hear from you.  Unemployment is hitting everywhere.

Mum, good luck with the doctor today.  I'll be waiting anxiously to hear how it all went.

This morning, I have to be at this local church at 11:00 a.m.   They serve a lot of homeless people in the area, with referrals etc. and I'm supposed to learn the ropes.  I may have a temporary part-time job there working with the homeless.  I really hope it works out and that I do alright without panicking, screwing up real bad etc.  This is the work I want to do.  I want to do something where I'm helping people.

Other than that, lots of studying to do, probably for the remainder of the four weeks.  That's alright, there's light at the end of the tunnel.  You all have a good day.

Good Morning  :)

Tendai- I feel like I need to research what is going on in your country.

Happy- Don't worry about not checking in. Sometimes life just happens. I hope everything works out ok.

Queen- I'm glad you are feeling better.

Betty- That job sounds like something you would enjoy. I picture you doing something in social work. I don't think you need to worry about messing anything up

Mum- Good luck at the doctor and good luck with the LONG drive.... :)

Well, my voice has been just barely hanging on for the past 2 days. The good thing about it that the kids are well behaved...I think they feel sorry for me  :) I have a cough and stuffed up nose but only in the morning and at night. I don't know what that is about. Other than that there really is nothing. Sunday is the day I go to my meeting which I am looking forward to. The only thing right now that looms ahead of me is going to the gym. I have got to lose some weight. I saw some pictures of myself from the field trip we went on and all I can say is Yikes! I told one of the kids to cut me out LOL! They asked what was wrong with it and I told them that I need to stop eating and go on a diet.  :'(

Anyways...that's all. Have a good day everyone!

Netta--You have my condolences on your loss.

Wini--Uh, is it your birthday? If so, Happy Birthday. I am assuming it is since there was no name following the pic.

Betty--- Yeah, now that I have gotten motivated to do these things, my hearing aid went down. So, I am waiting on that to get back now. I just think I really have to much time on my hands and I do tend to constantly be thinking even when I am high... ;)

It's a rainy day here but I am still trying to stay motivated. I finally got off my behind and got my rent rebate done. I should get back 650, so that along with the 250 stimulus should be enough to get me a decent car from the auction in July. I am suppose to be going to Georgia with my sister. In the beginning, she was going to buy the tickets, now we have to get our own. I think it is going to be a problem though I told her I was getting a car. If I have enough for both, I will do both. I even offered to drive, I meant the new car that I am going to get. Cause the car I have now will not make the trip. Then she went on some rant about renting a car, though I don't know where that even came from. It was just weird.

I am still getting bit by Lucifer and it is starting to piss me off. I should've kept that appointment to the vet. He is going to be 3 years old next month but he is making me consider getting rid of him. He got me today while I was talking to my sister on the phone. I literally had to beat him with the phone to get him to stop. I felt bad but he was biting the hell out of me. And I am getting tired of it.

Well no plans for me tonight....How about you guys? Someone should be starting a new thread soon.

I'll take #100.  I've got a thought about a title, but we'll see if someone beats me to it.

Just a quick recap of our appoitment today. I posted a bit more in LW thread.  In short: WE LOVE DR.F! He spent 2hours talking to us and examining Mim.  He wrote down goals that we wanted to have happen.  She will be taken off Zerit, but not right now.  He's got 4 possible drug combos that he wants to research in terms of developmental side-effects.  We talked about acceptable side-effects (lipo) vs. unacceptable (neurotoxins).  In other words, if a med combo is easy on the neuro-issues, but causes lipo, we'll take it.  Seeing as all combos have some sort of long-term side effects, we prioritized them.  Sounds odd, but it makes sense to us.  He'll have her new combo ready for her when we go back April 15th.

He also found something today that 10 doctors in the last 3mths (including 1 on Monday) have completely missed - a heart murmur!  It wasnt' subtle and even Hubby heard it.  So, now, she has an EKG scheduled for 4/24.  6 appointments in 6wks.  By the middle of May, we should be well on our way to having our answers.

Netta, we are certainly keeping your family in our prayers.  I'm so sorry about the loss of your brother.

Morning all,

Andrea, I hope you feel better.  Hey, I've gained a little over 20 lbs this winter.  I know I need to lose weight, and will probably get back on the diet after Easter.  There is just too much good candy out there right now. :)

Netta, I am so sorry about your brother.  You have my condolences.  And I'll keep Bernie in my thoughts.  I'm glad he died peacefully; that's important.  He's at rest finally.

Wendy, yeah, I'm confused a bit also about the happy birthday thing.  Was it your birthday?

Queen, I'm sorry about Lucifer.  I've never had a cat that did that.  That's got to be a hard decision to make about giving him up.  How do you get that rent rebate?

Mum, I'm so glad you like the new doctor.  I hope he finds a good combo for Min.  And I hope her EKG is unremarkable and the heart murmur is not causing problems.  You may as well start the new thread, especially if you have a title for it.

I guess they started putting only 50 posts per page, because I was a bit confused when I came on and saw we're on the 3rd page of this thread already.  Anyway, yesterday I went to that church I'm going to have a four-week part-time job at and met the pastor and the lady in charge of the soup kitchen.  They serve breakfast to the homeless there.  The lady told me yesterday that they had 64 people there for breakfast.  I start Monday at 8:15 a.m.    I don't have unrealistic expectations, I know I'm not going to cure anyone.  I just hope I make a tiny difference to someone.

Other than that, I'm 1/2 way done with this semester.  Today I might go to the new women's HIV support group.  Other than that, I'll be doing homework.  You all have a good one.

Hmmm, I thought the rent rebate was for everyone on disability. I don't think it is just for Pa. Anyway, you have to get the rebate book and fill out the form in it. You also must have a lease or rent receipts to where you are living now. Or where you lived in 2008. The landlord has a part to fill out too or if you are having problems with your landlord you can get that section notarized. The most you can get is $650 dollars, that's what I am getting. And if you send it in early enough you can have it by July 1 otherwise it will come later.

Not much going on with me. The weather was nice today. I did laundry and worked out for about 30 minutes doing anything and everything I could think of. I have to get rid of this stomach. And I guess it is going to take about 2 years, well going by Valerie Bertinelli, who was way heavier than I am. I am still trying to find a gym to go to or I may have to pay for guest passes at the Y. I haven't gotten that far yet. But the exercises I am doing at home are sit ups, the girly kind, dancing even, focusing on my core area, and leg exercises. I am also trying to find a tai chi video but haven't been able to find one. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am going stir crazy sitting in the house. I did go out for a few but was too nervous about driving and running out of gas since the gas gage is messed up in the car. It's hard for me to tell how much gas I have. I do have to get an oil change, it's overdue.
