I messed up my meds yesterday and need advice...
« on: July 20, 2007, 04:55:46 pm »
Hey all -- I'm on Combivir and Sustiva... I take one Combivir in the morning and a Combivir and Sustiva at night... Yesterday, I took two Combivir in the morning by mistake (thinking the other one was a vitamin).  I called my doc's office and the nurse told me to just take the Sustiva last night and do my regular routine today...

This is the first time in four years that I've messed up...  I guess I'm just really neurotic because I'm scared to screw up my regimen, which has been very effective for me.

Has anyone else done this?  I hope it's not a big deal but really need some peace of mind... If anyone has had a similar experience, please let me know.

Thanks...

We've all done it and a rare mistake ain't going to hurt you. One time in four years is an excellent record and nothing to sneeze about...your nurse was spot on and you are worrying needlessly.

Hey Mookie,

What the nurse said. You are doing great and, believe me, we have all messed up once or twice.

As long as it doesn't become a habit, don't sweat it.

HUGS,

Mookie,
That's nothing to what happened to me a few weeks back. I ran out of two of my 3 meds for about 7-8 dosages because the clinic was out of stock and the shipment was waaay late. I was shitting bricks that weekend and still am not sure if any damage has been done. I'm resistant to all other meds so I'm fucked if my hiv has gotten tough with this regimen which could be my last chance...I'd prefer your situation a zillion times to my experience! :-\
