Ladies Thread Part 53-Freezing hands, warm heart?
« on: January 21, 2009, 10:06:46 am »
Morning ladies,

I hadn't started a new thread in awhile, and that's the only title I could come up with.

Queen, that bow was a bit large that Aretha had on her hat.  I love to hear her sing though.

Mum, you do get a lot accomplished every day, it probably just doesn't feel like it.

Veritee, I know the eyes of the world have been on us for awhile, with the election and then yesterday's inauguration.  It's really quite a thing.

Andrea, I'm glad you let your kids watch the goings-on of yesterday.  It was really exciting.

I went to a friend's to watch the inauguration.  It was totally wonderful, all of it (even the part that the Chief justice screwed up regarding giving the oath of office).  Too bad about Sen. Kennedy, though I hear that today he's back at work.  I hope he lasts a long time; it will be such a huge loss when he goes.  He's the great liberal voice of the senate.  The Obamas must be extremely tired this morning, with all the events they had yesterday, right down to the 10 balls they had to go to last night.  I saw the first one, where they both danced with people in the service.  That was awesome.  I wish I could have gotten a picture of it, but I'm sure everywhere will have Obama memorobilia for sale.  I have a sticker I got for free from that moveon committee that has a picture of Obama on it and says "yes we did" and has the date.  I'm not going to stick it to anything.  I have a Time magazine from right after the election, and I will probably put that, the sticker, and anything else I get regarding Obama in a file someday for my grandkids.  I doubt they really know the significance of yesterday.

Today I need to work on biology homework. I don't understand all of it.  When I talked to a couple of my classmates, they didn't get all of it either, so I don't feel so bad.  It's nice knowing I'm not the only one who doesn't understand (like it was with microeconomics).  Other than that, nothing else planned.  My brother left me a move to watch when he came over the other night so we could continue our watching of "The Wire."  So anyway, I might watch that.  You ladies have a good day.

I'm doing a bit better today.  My head is a bit more cleared.  After the crazyness of me forgetting to turn on the crockpot yesterday,  supper for tonight is already cooked so 1 less thing I need to deal with.  The sky is FINALLY clear blue and lots of sun.  Still cold - high 25 - but that's balmy compared to what we've had.  Schools here closed and I have no idea why.  They'll have to make it up in June and shorten their summer vacations.

Tomorrow, Hubby is going to take his Civil Servant's test to get a job with the Census Bureau.  Business is slow, and we could use the extra money.  The jobs are temporary - about 2yrs - but it will allow us to pay off some stuff, repair some things, and he can still schedule clients around it.  Some of the Bureau jobs are done at home and he's hoping that what he'll get.  But, being bi-lingual, they'll probably put him in the field.

Laundry, school, food....lol...I should just log on and say "Ditto".  My life doesn't change much.

Betty, good luck with biology.  Science was never my best subject.  I'm still waiting for my graduation invitation - it's almost May!

Good afternoon ladies-

I just spend 40 minutes writing to everyone and bam everything went blink and now I'm peed off since its gone.  I think this will be more like the cliff notes.

Christy -  thanks for the kind words.  I don't know much about hiv2, where as I'm quite familiar with the coinfection info.  I was infected by my boyfriend with also had Hep C.  I'm gonna "google" it tonight.  Sounds smart to keep him at bay due to the trust has been diminished by your suspicions.

BT-  What a fashion faux pau on Aretha's part.  She has niched herself into the halls of music history with her amazing voice.  I felt that the bow was such a distraction.
Frustrating when you grasp a concept.  It happens all the time to me with new computer programs.  It least you can commiserate with the other students.

Netta-  Good wishes on your tests tomorrow.  What kind of colon cleanse?  I did one for a while.  It was Sonne #9.  More interesting was the description on the canister of what might being coming down the pike, sort of speak.

Mini-  Hope you are feeling  better.   I'm believing things will go smoothly for you tomorrow for the hubby.

Queen-  I know you're warm and snuggly over there with your kingdom of men....lol  It's sooo great that you are smiling and feeling giddy, as mentioned before.  You deserve it!

Tend-  I would love to see were you live.   You are moving soon?  Same area?

Vertitee-  Hope all is well with you.  I checked out your website and know that you're in a good place here.  Vent Vent Vent :)

I went to the ID doc today.  I'm involved in a trial for norvir, reyataz and truvada.  I agreed since I've never taken meds before.  Technically I'm unemployed so I have the time, since I have to go back every two weeks and takes about two hours for the evaluations etc.  I have a suv so I can get to the clinic regardless of weather etc.  Anyway, I started with a 15k VL and a 335 cd4.....My numbers dropped to  109 and 197 cd4 after two months.   There are numbers in between that vary.  The doctor is not concerned about the cd4 because everyone in the clinic is showing a drop in the cd4 count due to the ineffectiveness of the lab.  They believe that the lab is leaving the specimens out to  long before testing.  Oh did I mention the room was filled with 4 other people.  Kids in their last year of school before becoming pharmacists.  One of the guys, the older one was really cute.  We're all laughing and joking and my doctor says "oh I think you're doing so great on your meds, what I concerned about is your weight gain...7lbs in two weeks."  As I write this I have gained the weight of a new born UGGGGGGG!  I was really embarrassed. The cute guy says, "oh you're wearing a big sweater and you're really layered."  I thought, yeah, layered.  Doctor continues and says, "looks like the scabies are all clear too huh?"  OH Lord that's it....fatty here with post scabies wants to hide away into my layers like a turtle.  That was it.  But the jokes continued on with my doctor as I wanted desperately to run away from there...me and my layers.

Hope you all have a nice evening.

Hugs,

Camms

Hey there lovely ladies!! :)

Betty- That's too bad about the biology. There is a lot of information but so fascinating! Yeah, the kids really enjoyed themselves. We are putting together a book which explains the history of the presidential inauguration. I learned quite a bit myself! There was one president (can't remember which one) who canceled all the parties because he felt that it was a waste of money. We also learned that the number of balls depends on the president. Some had 1 and some a whole lot!

Mum- What language does your husband speak?

Netta- Well I would say enjoy your day tomorrow, but a colon cleanse????:o

Camms- That was funny! Of course when you're trying to be cute something embarrassing comes up.

Well unfortunately the good weather is about to disappear. We have been in the 80's for over a week and now they say the rain is coming... :'( Oh well...I guess we need it. Other than that, not much else. I've been kind of feeling low...just stuff with my family and feeling very lonely and like an outsider. I'll talk to you all later....have a good evening!  :)

Wow!  It's going to be 40F here today - break out the shorts!  LOL with 6 inches of snow on the ground.

Vyv: Hubby is native Honduran and speaks Spanish.  His family moved to the states when he was 2 1/2, but he didn't learn to speak English until he started kindergarten.  There's no sexy Spanish accent, though, just back roads New Orleans :(.

Camms: thanks for the thoughts about Hubby's testing.  He just called and told me that he found the place.  It was pretty well hidden...lol...following directions must be part of the test.  If so, he may be the only male there. ;)  Not sure when we'll know anything.

Our electric co-op just called to tell us that they are giving away boxes of those new lightbulbs.  Not sure I want them, but I'll tell Hubby to drive by and get them on his way home.

That's all from this side of the mountain.  So, I guess I'll just end with a quick "ditto" :)

Morning ladies,

Mum, I hope you're feeling better.  It's warming up a bit here today also-expected high 35F.  But, by this weekend, it's supposed to crash again to a high of only about 13F.

Netta, what insurance do you have that's paying for a colon cleanse?  Is it your Medicare?  If it is, I might check into it.  Your doctor said it was alright?  Good luck with all those medical tests.

Camms, I think that's awful that your doctor brought up your weight and the scabies in front of that cute pharmacy student.  What are they going to do about the lab?  You do need accurate test results.

Andrea, what's going on with your family?  You can tell us-or pm me if you want.  Of course, it's totally up to you.  I'm sure it is interesting to learn about the different presidents.  The History channel is running specials about the different ones throughout history (presidents).  Of course, you know I have no sympathy for you concerning your upcoming rain situation.  It's freezing here and we have a whole lot of snow.  Maybe I'll be more sympathetic in the summer. :-*

I saw the tail-end of the academy award nominations this morning.  'Benjamen Button' got 13 nominations.  I suppose I'll go see that now.  'Slumdog Millionaire' got 10.  I'm so glad I saw that.  It was such a great movie.  It's premiering tomorrow in Mumbai, where it was filmed.  That will be interesting to see how well-received it is.  There were some pretty harsh scenes about the realities of life there.  If any of you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.  I would love to see 'Milk,' but with the ultra-conservative area I live in, I'll probably have to wait for it to come out on DVD.  A couple other movies I want to see are 'The Wrestler' and 'Revolutionary Road.'  Oh, and 'The Reader,' which I guess was already here and gone.

Today my therapist comes over.  I really have nothing pressing to talk to him about, so I suppose we'll shoot the shit.  The rest of the day I'll be working on Biology.  I don't know that I'm going to come up with all the answers; I'm hoping the teacher will go over them in class or something.  I have a 3-4 page paper to do for my other class (The Family).  We watched a film last night and had discussion.  I adore the professor for that class.  The biology teacher is an old crank.  No, he's really a nice person, he's just been teaching biology too long.  He needs to retire.  I know he loves what he does though.

That's it for me.  You ladies have a good day.

Hello Ladies. Things are really good here. We bought the things we needed, and caught up on the money we owed. I am so happy, i hate being broke.                                                                                Minismum, I went for the conference yesterday with Robert's teacher. She is such a nice caring woman, we both like her. Anyway she said she is concerned about his writing concepts and fine motor skills. I wrote down a list of things I can do to help with the writing  and we will be doing them every night.              I hope your hubby does great on his test . The new lightbulbs are great but if I am thinking they are ones that were discussed earlier, be careful if you break on cause they have mercury in them. We have them in every light in the house and have only broken a couple.                                                   Betty, good luck with the biology. I like the new thread title, I don't know about your hand's but I know you have a warm heart.                                           Viv, hope you get to feeling better.                                                  Camms, I would have been so embarrassed. I 'm sure your doctor didn't mean any harm but damn!!!!                                                     Anyway, that guy I was talking to, I politely told him that I could not date him. So that is taken care of. Still in search of love but I have my family and my cats(crazy cat lady here) so I will be okay. Hope you all have a great day, I have housework to do. Later.   Cristy

Gooooooooood Morning Ladies----

Well, today is the day of the funeral. Can't say I am looking forward to it but who does? Other than that not much going on just dog sitting Boo, the chihauhau, could never spell that word. Kingdom of men, that was funny though it does feel like it is raining men over here... ;) But I am getting a rest from them though I do hope I get to see Rey tomorrow ;D Idk, just something about him and Good Lord that man gives me fever. But enough about me......

A colon cleanse is that like a colonoscopy? I need to get that done but has been putting it off. Wouldn't you know, my one hearing aid gets fixed and the other one decides to break. So, I am back down to one again....Geez

Mum--- I feel ripped off being half Puerto Rican and knowing very little spanish. What irritates me more is that when other hispanics find out I am half Puerto Rican, it's like they treat me like I'm a mutt. Has been trying to get my spanish friends to teach me more spanish but I just kind of get blown off. I take pride in my hispanic side just like I do my black side. I hate when they ask my race or most just assume I am black.

I guess I am just going to relax until the funeral....Have a good one....

Bt-  I really enjoy reading your posts.  I went to school for film many years ago and worked in the film business. For one year I saw a film a day.  I was living in NYC so I had the opportunity to see a lot of indie films, along with many foreign films.  I don't have a lot of time to see films lately but appreciate that you fit it into your busy schedule.   The clinic contacted the lab several times and they are supposed to be working on it.  The lab they are using is only used for trials.  They take blood every two weeks.  This is the first time this new lab has been involved with something like this.  I'm thinking they (the lab)  bit off a little more than they can chew

Viv-  I'm so envious right now.  As the Latest tread titles sums it up for most of us.  I wouldn't mind the rain if I had a week of 80 degrees.

Mini- I wonder if your husband stopped for directions and just didn't tell anyone ;)  Here's to your clean colon.

Queen-  Sorry to hear about your loss.  Get through today and tomorrow is Rey.

WATCH OUT FOR THIS CREEP-  I went on the poz personals last night for one of the first times in a while.  I had my photo posted but I rarely had a correspondence with anyone.  Well, I met a guy in my area who seemed smart and worked in a field that I worked in for 6 years.  We were emailing each other back and forth.  He wanted to send me his photo and asked for my email.  This morning I checked my email and I saw his message.  His email said:  Here is are two photos of me.  Here is a recent pic of me and Spanky.  I included a naked pic as it would be nice for you to reciprocate. Oh and his skin pic was a picture of his hairy chest.  I thought it was a joke at first...wtf?  Has this happened to anybody else here?

Camm: LOL, I'm not the one getting the colon cleanse - it was Netta.  I only laugh because I lost my colon to cancer when I was 18 so there's nothing to cleanse.

Betty: I heard about Slumdog's nominations.  I haven't seen it, but have heard good things about it.  Unless it's playing next weekend here, I'll have to wait and rent it.  Is it based on a true story?

Hubby called and said he got a 26 / 28 on his test.  He was really angry - wanted to ace it.  But, he got the best score in the group.  He said one guy just got up, slammed his test on the lady's desk, and walked out!  Another guy said he never even finished it. WHOOPS!  Anyway, after all the sweating, the lady said you only have to make a 10 / 28 to be considered ???  No wonder we keep getting other peoples' mail!

Queen, our family is the walking UN.  LOL, we're all different.  When people ask what the kids are, we just look around and say, "Um...kids."  or we point each on out and say, "Boy, boy, girl, girl, boy, girl."   One particular lady at Texas Roadhouse kept following us, pushing the issue until our sweet #4 turned around and started yelling "STRANGER! STRANGER! HELP! HELP!"  Hehe, that got her to back off pretty quick.

Also, all you ladies having a colonoscopy.  Back when I was having them (monthly for 18mths - do the math), not only was I NOT put to sleep, I was also NOT given any drugs and had them done in the doctor's office.  Yeah, fun!  I walked in, stripped from the waist down, knees on the bench, layed flat-bellied on the table, head went down, butt went up, and doc went in.  Even had biopsies done - always a joy feeling parts of you being ripped out.  Hubby (before he was Hubby) would come in with me, kneel on the floor by my head, and read me the newspaper comics.  Ahhhh, Amore!

Love to you all!

Whoops sorry about that.  I knew that  mentally I must have just had my head on that darn cleansing process.  I also had about an hour of sleep last night.

Sorry to hear about your Colon loss. But congratulations that you are with us today.  All cancer is rough but colon cancer is a hard one to defeat.

Today was really weird!!  I  had my ct scan of my abdomen to make sure i have no tumors or cysts. I have pain in my abdomen sometimes, since my hysterectomy. I think it is only scar tissue. The colon cleanse is suppose to help that also. Well I had to drink this nasty dye, before the scan, how about the dye went right threw me! I was running to the bathroom!!! lol. Ok then I had this mamogram where they smash your titties  between two hard xray plates, this was painful enough , then they tell you to hold your breath!!!. Ok  i was nervous for the colonics, since it was my first, but it was alright, nice room, music, candles, I felt like I was on a date with myself, till the tube started flusihing out the gook inside ! I even had a heated hand massager! to put on my belly if you have a little cramping, which i did, but overall it was a great experience. You leave feeling lighter. I have medicaid and medicare which pays for it. I can have it once a month .My dad died from colon cancer, so it helps to do all I can for my colon. Next I have to have the colonoscopy, which I have had years ago.Must have every five years.
Mums I am sorry you went through so much with your colon, this reallly, makes me want to stop putting it off, whcih I had been doing. We didn't know my dad had cancer, which was the sad thing, because he never told us. He just up and died and they did an autospy, thats how we found out.
Well excuse me for all the details of my day. Don't want to be so graffic, but I feel it is important. LOve to all.

Betty I saw a funny thing on tv today comparing Benjamin Button to Forrest Gump. And you know it was a pretty good comparison. Funny too.

Camille I gave up talking to straight men online. Rarely will I talk to any men online, unless they are gay of course. I know there are a few men out there who can behave like gentlemen but the vast majority of them have been a little piggy even when told I am not available and not interested. I seriously never understood why men send naked pictures of themselves. Honest to God I do not want to see random penis. LOL I am going to guess most women like myself enjoy seeing a nice chest or bottom but really have no interest in seeing a penis. Not that I dont like them. But unlike men I am not a visual creature.

I am trying to reschedule my colonoscopy I didn't go to in November. I dont think there would be much to clean out of me if I had a colon cleanse. Its always diarrhea so I cant imagine with as much as I poop there would be much there.  ???
I also went up to the clinic and spoke to the scheduling lady and requested a new doctor. I havent heard anything back from them yet but I wont let it go more than a week without bugging them again.

Well the rain hasn't come yet.  :) I am so HAPPY that tomorrow is Friday. We have Pajama Day tomorrow and I am looking forward to being comfy in my PJ's.... ;D

Everything that is going on with my family is going to take way too long to explain. I'm just basically hurt by what my mom and dad are doing. My mom moved to Texas, which I mentioned before, and my dad called last week to let me know that he was having heart problems and that I needed to come check on him. He then talked to me about my car, my lease is up next month, and he said he could get me a new car and he would take care of it. Well, last night he called to tell me that the doctor told him that everything was fine and since he had a clean bill of health and he was going to Florida to visit his sister today. I asked him what about my car and he acted like he didn't know. I told him just forget it and I would take care of it. He then said that my sister wanted a new car and I could have her car. I said No! She has been in 2 accidents and the milage is really high. Why would I want her car. So he was a little irritated with my reaction. He then says he needs me to watch the house and get the mail everyday. Also he talked to my mom about my sister's birthday which is 2/1 and how she is going to have a party at the house. According to him my mom said don't worry that I or a cousin of ours would supervise the party. I told him that this was the first I was hearing about it and I will not be responsible for what goes on there. My sister, who is going to be 19, drinks and her friends drink, smoke, and some smoke pot. Well he got mad that I said that and then got kind of an attitude. I started to get upset because I feel like I am not apart of this family and my parents are both acting like children. I really should explain more and it would make more sense if the entire back story was there but like I said it will just take too long and I don't want to bore you guys.... ;) This is all stuff that I talk about in therapy and it always seems like it happens when my appointment is next week.

That's all....Have a good night!

Hey Ladies -

I feel like I've been up all night....which isn't true because technically I was dreaming so I some point I must have snuck in sleep.  A few weeks ago I had a friend stayiing with me.  He is co infected so drinking is a real NO NO.  He needed a place to stay so I said as long as he wasn't drinking.  Everything was fine until last week.  I wasn't feeling well and he wanted to borrow my truck to go to the AP which he has done in the past.  It was a real issue when he took my car because many times he would sneak beer.  Then we would get into a ridiculous fight. The week before he bought beer and drank it in my car.  I warned him if he did it again he was out.  Anyway he comes back an hour later.  The A&P is down the street.  When he came in he couldn't speak coherently.  I went out to my car and found a Lairds bottle of gin under my wheel.    I was shocked I brought it in and tried to be real calm.  Swaying he told me he was gonna dump it.  I walked outside with the garbage I saw him downing as much as possible before jumping back in the house and grabbing it and dumping the rest.  I've never see him drink hard liquor before so I was really befuddled.

I found cups all around the house with mixed gin drinks.  He passed out and white foam came from his mouth.  I called the Emts and thaey took him to the hospital.  He was sooo mad until we left.   I wanted to leave him there and give him money for a cab and bus fare....but the hospital send he had to be signed out UGGGGGG.

The next few days he did well no drinking and said he will never do that again...he is done with drinking.
I said I cannot see you do this to you anymore.  If I know that you've had just one beer I cannot be your friend.  One beer is too much.

I called him last night and asked how he was holding up.  He said that he had a beer.  I saiid "that's it,  done. I feel that this is the last I will see him.  At least from my end....When you're an alcoholic one beer is enough but when you have HCV....its another nail in the coffin.

Camille-That must have been difficult. You sure are strong. What does it mean to co infected? What is HCV?

Co infected is HIV/ HVC Hepatitis C.   It's sooo frustrating when you believe somebody had really hit rock bottom several times and I was skeptical everytime.  This time I really believed this was  it.  I feel so foolish.

Morning ladies,

Cristy, I'm glad you got your money.  I hate being broke also.  Thanks for the comment about the warm heart. :-*

Queen, my daughter is 1/2 Mexican, and when we lived in Alabama, people all the time used to ask me "what is she?"  (there were no Hispanics living where we did).  It really pissed me off after awhile.

Netta, I'm glad you feel lighter.  I've had quite a few mammograms and they don't bother me.  I think different people do them better than some others do.

Camms, don't feel foolish about your friend, the alky.  We (addicts/alcoholics) are very good convincers.  I know every excuse/lie/trick in the book I think.  How do you think he's survived all these years, still drinking? It sure wasn't being honest.  I hope he does quit, though.  He'll die soon otherwise (not trying to be cruel, just being honest).  I mean, it sounds like he goes all out when he drinks, it's not like  he has one drink.

Mum, that story you told about the colonoscopy made me not want to get one more than I already did.  I'm already nervous about having to get one when I do, because of being diabetic (and brittle).  I don't know how they keep a diabetic's sugar from crashing really badly when preparing for the test.  Anyway, I'm not going to worry about that for another 7 years (when I turn 50).  My dad had colon cancer in his early 60's.

Wendy, I sure hope you get a new doctor assigned soon.  I so would not go back to that lady you talked about.

Andrea, it sounds like you get volunteered a lot and also let down by your father.  I'm really sorry.  Have you ever told your parents how you feel/why you feel like that?  Or are you not at that point yet?

Well, last night we didn't get let out of Biology class until 9:50 p.m.  He likes to keep us up until the last possible minute.  Some of it is interesting, but when we've been at it for 3 hours and 50 minutes, with only one 10 minute break, it makes the brain turn to tossed salad.  We're learning everything everyone can possibly know about cells.  I didn't know they were so detailed and did so much.  The teacher knows his shit (he should after teaching it for 40+ years) and he just prattles on so fast.  He gave us a sheet last night of things we're going to be expected to know on the final.  He's got to be crazy.  There's no way I'll learn everything he has down.

Today I'm supposed to go to lunch with a friend.  I'm not going to eat any breakfast so I'll be hungry at noon when we go.  I think I'm also going to go to the library to get a new book to read.  You ladies have a good day.

Yeahhhhh!

After a couple of phone calls today I am glad to say I have a new doctor. A real doctor.
I will be seeing her next week. I wrote a letter to explain situations that have happened and the anxiety I've been having since. I also wrote about my abdominal pain and the lack of pain management I have recieved. And I included all other health concerns I have. Plus a reminder that I need a refill on my Lexiva. I thought writting the letter would be a good idea because I forget things sometimes.

Although I am having a lot of anxiety my mind is sharp and I am not having any negative thoughts. Just the irrational unjustified feelings of anxiety. Its like my body and mind are not communicating. I am happy and all but my body is freakin. LOL At most it is annoying.
I'm looking forward to see how my doctor/patient relationship will be. I hope to have an understanding, personal and trusting relationship like I had with my first health care provider. She was and is a gem.  ;D

Wendy, I'm glad you have a new doctor.  I had anxiety pretty bad a few years ago, and sometimes I still have it, especially if I go into a large place with lots of people.  I just tell myself I'm not going to pass out or die or anything and make myself walk through the places.  Of course, I understand this doesn't work for everyone.

I pretty much do the same. But nothing seems to be triggering the anxiety I have been having lately. I rationalise to myself and take a few deep breaths and try and calm myself.

Of course many of you know my son and husband passed away in 1997 and 2001. I've had some minor problems with anxiety since. But at the begining of this month someone close to me called in the middle of the night while they where having a psychotic episode. I didnt know at the time that was what it was. The person had said and I believed they had been robbed and injured while alone at work. While on the phone with this person and on the phone with 911 the noises and yelling from the person led me to think they where being murdered. That person is in treatment now and was never in any danger aside from themself. But like I said I did not know it at the time.
Anywho, since then I have been having severe anxiety issues. I'm pretty sure its post traumatic stress.

Camms- Thanks for the breakdown!

Betty- I haven't told my parents anything. The only person who knows my real feelings is my therapist. Most of my angst comes from the sadness I have since my mom left. Things just aren't the same. On a different topic...the cell portion of biology is very confusing. I barely remember all that stuff. I like the systems part of it. Oh, I am half Hispanic too but my skin is very light. People never believe me when I tell them.

Wendy- I'm glad you are getting an opportunity to see a new doctor. I hope it's a better experience.

Today it finally rained and we had pajama day so it was perfect.  :) We were nice and cozy! Tomorrow I have to go back to the dentist....UGHHH! When I went last week is was supposed to be for a cleaning and to get my permanent crown put on. When I got there I was told that I was getting a filling too. Well I said that is not what the dentist told me. When I had my x-rays done on New Year's eve she said that I had a very slight cavity and she did not want to fill it yet. She told me about some new paste to put on my teeth that is supposed to diminish it. I guess it has calcium, fluoride, and some other stuff. She told me to use it for 6 weeks and then come back for x-rays and if it needs to be fillled then she would do it. So when they told me I needed one I said I was going to wait until I talked to the Dr. Soo...the other doctor, who is an associate, tried to pull off the temporary crown but it hurt...bad! He said they don't usually use Novocain and most people can handle it. Excuse me! I told him it hurt so he reluctantly injected me.When he was fitting the crown he said that if the bite was good they may have to drill the bottom molar. Um hello? I don't want my perfectly good tooth being drilled! I had never heard of such a thing. Anyways, I don't think he was too happy with me. After the crown and the cleaning they said I need to come back the following week, which is tomorrow. I'm sure they wrote something down...LOL! Does anyone watch Seinfeld? There was an episode where Elaine went to the doctor and they wrote something negative in her file and she had to keep going to different doctors because no one would help her. I guess you had to see it. As I am typing this I am wondering if I already mentioned all this before...? If I did, I'm sorry.... ;D Alright, enough for now. Have a good night!

Morning ladies,

Wendy, I'm glad your friend is getting treatment.  That must have been upsetting for you.

Andrea, no, you didn't mention your recent trauma with the dentist.  It sounds absolutely awful.  I hate dentists, always have.  And yes, I did see that episode on Seinfeld. (I love Seinfeld).  It was a hilarious episode, especially when she got Jerry's Uncle Leo to go see the doctor after his eyebrows got blown off (when she drew them on).  Funny stuff.

You all know someone else we haven't heard from in a loooong time, is Dragonette.  I do hope she's doing alright and is busy with her new married life.  Also, Tendai hasn't been on in awhile.  I hope everything's alright with her.  Living where she does, it makes me worry a bit when she's been off here for awhile.  Things aren't good there.

Today I'm going to call the grandkids and see if they want to finally go see that 'Madagascar' movie.  If not, there are some good movies (finally) here.  'Milk' is here and so is 'Frost/Nixon.'  Also, 'The Wrestler' is supposed to be opening today.  That's 3 good ones to choose from, and I want to see 'Milk' first.  So, it'll be up to them.  They're not up yet I don't imagine.  They usually don't get up until around 10:00 am on the weekends.

It's freezing again here.  It's onlky 14F out right now and tonight it's supposed to be 0F.  Yuck. I am so over this whole winter season.  Ah, to be back in Phoenix again right now.  And be there the rest of the winter, until it warms up to 60F here.  Yeah, right.  You ladies have a good day.

Not much going on with me. My right eye is bothering me so much so I had to take my right contact out. And now it appears that it is sensitive to light and has been watering like crazy. I didn't get to see Rey yesterday which left me a little bummed. He prolly had to work, I am not sure because I haven't talked to him lately either... :(  At the moment, I am just tired, not sure why though. I am still dog sitting til tomorrow, that'll be some change in my pocket which I could use about now.

I want to see the Friday the 13th remake which starts next month on Friday, the 13th, wouldn't ya know. Milk does look interesting and noticed that Sean has been doing some good movies lately. Hard to believe he was married to Madonna back in the day.

Debating on if I am going to cook a roast today. I want to but I am tired. I hope Drag and Tendai are doing ok.....Until next time.....

Good morning ladies. I am up early, just checking in.                                        Camms, I am sorry about your friend. Betty is right, those of us who are addicts or alcoholics are very good convincers and good at hiding things. I hope your friend stops drinking   , for both of your sake's.
Mum
Mum, I thought that was really funny. How rude of people to ask you what your children are or follow you all around being rude. I like what #4 did, I bet that lady backed off so fast she was flying. ;). You always have the best stories. I need to teach Robert to do the Stranger, Help thing.                                      Queen, sorry your eye  is bothering you.  I wish I could give you some suggestions as to what might be wrong but I don't have a clue, I just hope it gets better.                                                            Wendy, I could see how that could make your anxiety worse. My oldest has Psychotic episodes and they used to scare me.      I am so glad you got a new doctor, I hope she/he is much better than the old one and actually listens to you.                                                       Betty,  sorry it's so cold there. Phoenix sounds good , at least it would be warmer. Hope you had lots of fun with the Grandkids. Robert loves anything SpongeBob Squarepants(he has one of the movies) but I am getting burned out on it. I would " lose " the movie for a while but Robert would be heartbroken so I will just deal with it.                                                                               Viv, that whole dentist thing sounds horrible. My dentist is very generous with the Novocain and constantly asks if it hurts, I love her manner, she is great.                                                                 Things are good here. We(mostly dad and Robert) got 27 grape vines planted yesterday and next year we will have grapes.  I am going Tuesday to look for a job, hopefully I will find something good. I enjoy being home but am getting restless so it's time to go back to work. Just something part-time, I need to be home in the evenings to help Robert with his homework and writing. Hope everyone has a great day.   Later.  Cristy

Good morning, ladies!  I got up early to shower and fix my hair...LOL..now I won't offend anybody with my Green Cloud of Justice.

Chisty, good luck with the job hunting.  I understand the pull between job and kids - it's a delicate balance that's not easy to find or hold on to.  I hope you find exactly what you and Robert need.  The funny thing about #4 is that we have NEVER taught her to yell "stranger".  She literally hates people and avoids them at all cost.  So, to hear her start screaming was hysterical!  You'd be amazed at the stupid stuff people ask / say to us.

Betty, Friday here was wonderful - up to 50F and sun for miles.  Yesterday, the bottom fell.  Down went the temps and the snow.  Not sure it's going to be much better today, but only 30% chance of snow tomorrow and Tuesday.  Hubby's going to need to bring up some more firewood.

Our sweet #5 lost his first tooth last night.  Honestly, he didn't "lose" it, Hubby yanked it out.  It was loose, and the adult tooth was growing in behind it.  The dentist said either he could pull it and charge us, or we could do it for free.  LOL..we're cheap.  He has 2 more loose teeth, but those are safe, so far.  Mini's our money mouth with 8 loose teeth.  Once her's are loose, they take forever to come out.  Then, months for her adult teeth to fill in the gaps.  She lost her 1st tooth just before her 8th birthday.

Mini's complaining about her ears again and asked to go to the doctor.  I'll  call the clinic this afternoon and see if I can get her in.  If not, I know they can see her at 7 tomorrow morning.  The appointment will be followed by a VERY nasty letter to both the ENT and Doc. >:(

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Morning ladies,

Queen, I hope your eye gets better.  My mum used to tell me to put a warm washcloth on my eyes when they would bother me.  Not saying that's a cure; but, it might help, dunno.  I remember when Sean Penn was married to Madonna and when they got divorced there were allegations of abuse against Sean Penn.  Wow, that was a long time ago.

Cristy, one of my friends just sent me some homemade grape jam his mum made over the summer. It is so good.  They live out in the country, down by Indianapolis, and in the summer they have a huge garden.  His mum cans.   Good luck with the job hunting.  Part-time might not be that hard to find.  I think most employers like that, since they don't have to pay benefits with part-time.

Mum, poor Mini.  Please give her a big hug from me and one from Poppy.  If you would pm me your address, I would like to send Mini a Valentine's Day card and a more recent picture of Poppy.    Yeah, weather wise it crashed here as well.  It is only 3F out right now, and it's not supposed to warm up for a couple days.  Spring can't get here fast enough.

Well, yesterday I did a whole lot of nothing.  I was supposed to go watch my granddaughter rollerskate.  I went to the skating rink, waited for 1/2 an hour, and when she hadn't shown up by then, I left, came home and called her.  She said she had to get her homework done.  So, I told her we'd go see a movie next weekend.  I did get a pizza and salad last night from a nice Italian restaurant.

I had planned to go do laundry today, but I don't know with the freezing temps.  You'd think I'd be used to all this subdegree weather by now, but I don't know if anyone gets used to it.  My brother said his girlfriend loves the snow.  I said good, maybe they should move to Alaska.  My brother got his 2nd master's degree from the University of Alaska (Anchorage) and told me every night they had to plug some little heater thing into an outlet and put it over their car batteries, so they wouldn't poop out.  I would in no way enjoy living in a place like that.  Anyway, I might tough up and go (do laundry).  I have some reading to do, which I can get caught up on there.  Other than that, not much else planned.  You ladies have a good day.

I can't believe that February is starting next week!  This year is flying by already.  Betty, I'll PM you our address.  Poppy's new picture won't replace the old one, LOL, it'll just be added to it.  He lived for a long time on our refrigerator, then was moved to Mim's bed.  It's been there ever since.

Hey Ladies,

Just dropping in to let you know im still here. I just finished doing a outline for my paper that I have turn in. Doing the outline to me is harder than doing the paper. Yesterday me and my DH and a friend and her DH went out of town to shop and out to eat. We had a wonderful time. Today I went to church and we had a great time. After that we went out to eat again and I came home and slept for 4 hours. That was some much needed rest. That's why im up so late trying to turn in my Outline for class.  ::)

BT- What do you plan on doing when you graduate. I think I will start sending out my resumes' now. I will graduate in July. I'm in the healthcare field. Do they check for 'chronic illnesses' before they employ you?

Mum- I agree that this year seems to be flying by already. Give Mini a kiss for me and tell her I hope she feels better soon. My sinuses have been draining on my ears and its really bothering me.

Well, I'm getting ready to turn in I have to go to work tomorrow.

Talk to you later........

Morning ladies,

Tendai, thanks for checking in.  So you're still looking for a place?  Did you tell your landlady there that you're moving?  I worry when we don't hear from you.  I heard on the radio today that world leaders are trying to pressure Mugabe.

Mum, yes the year is going by fast.  It's amazing, isn't it?  That's cute that Mim sleeps with Poppy.  Well, this will give her another picture.  Poppy will be 5 in March.  She was 2 when I adopted her and I can't believe it's been 3 years already.  She is an extremely skiddish cat.  I've never had nor seen a cat so nervous.  Must have been the 2 years at the shelter around all those other cats.  I tell people she's got post-traumatic stress. :)

Keeping, I'm unsure yet as to exactly what I'll be doing when I graduate.  I'm not going to work to make more than disability allows.  Even my doctor said that would be a disaster, with all my medical expenses.  I don't know if a job would ask about chronic illnesses.  I don't imagine they would, unless you would be trying to get insurance.  Good luck with the rest of your studies.

I'm up late again.  Over the weekend I got up early, and I'm unsure why it changed back.  Could be 'cause it's so grey outside.  At least during the summer, we actually have light.  I so hope we get an early spring.  I suppose I'll just clean today.  I was thinking about going to see a movie, but I'll probably wait for another day.  Nothing else going on.  You ladies have a good day.

Hello all, just checking in. I had the grand kids this weekend. yesterday my 5 yr. old losther first tooth also!!!! she said she would telll her mom and dad to leavethe door open for the tooth fairy.! Also she said the funniest thing while looking at her baby pictures, she said she was going to ask jesus to make her a baby again !!!
Queen- I hope you don't have pink eye, check it out. or it could be allergies.
Winn- I hope you are doing well, I understand about those panic anxiety attacks very well. I have much better controll now but certain things could trigger it, like what you went threw with your friend. I beleve mine came from post tramatic stress, from beiing raped as a child. for instance, I would be sleeping when I was a child at home living with my mom, if she walked into the room to check on me,and stand over my bed, I would automaticly wake up screaming. this is strange, I know, but I undrstand it now. I use to walk out my house at nite and just walk when I had a panic attack ! This was so many years ago. I have not seen a mental health worker in years, none of my docs have sugguested it and just keep giving me zoloff. T his is my fault, for not taking control, of my health.I tried in the past to get off them but bad side effects from going cold turkey, I know better now. I am going to tell my family doctor I want to wean off it. I am wondering what he will say, probly send me to a shrink, who will probly say no,I shouldnt, they never  are any help. I have already weaned my self, from 1 and a 1/2 pill (125mg) to just 100 mg and this was nine months ago, and I feel fine. But I want to get off completly because of the side effects. and I don't feel like they are doing anything but harming me. I am older and more stable now, almost 51. and dont want to spend the rest of my life on these drugs.
Tendai- hope things get better for you, I am praying for you.
cj - good luck job hunting !
minsmom - you are so funny, hope min feels better soon.
LOvE TO ALL !!!

Hey Ladies----

Not much going on with me, just finished cleaning up. That takes about 20 minutes when I vacuum and clean Lucifer's litterbox. I still have a few dishes but I am going to wash them after I cook dinner which is fried chicken and potato salad. Just catching a rest before I get into all that. Yesterday, I cooked the roast finally with some potatoes. Dinner was done by two. My eye is feeling much better though I never had pink eye so I wouldn't know what to look for. I think it just needed the contact out of it or something. I do have allergies but as far as I know that happens during the summer with the grass being cut and the ragwood that floats around. The only other thing I could be allergic to is my cat but I don't think so.

Tomorrow I have to turn in the other hearing aid and get my labs done. I still haven't found another PCP yet but am managing my diabetes own my own. This month has gone pretty fast, Friday is check day already for those who gets their disability on the 1st.

I guess I'll keep on listening to music, Al Green----Love and Happiness.....Yeah, I am in old school mode...lol....Have a good day!!!

The appointment today went very well. My new doctor proved to be a very nice, attentive, intelligent and lovely lady. I was given pain medication and an anti anxiety medication to take as needed. Now all I have to do is get my colonoscopy referral from the GI clinic and get the GI clinic to figure out what is up with my guts. The doctor said its possible that it is IBS. I agreed and stated I hoped that was all it was. She also is going to schedule me for a mammogram. I've never had one.
I was at the hospital from 1:30 until 5:30. Kind of a long wait for seeing the doctor and filling prescriptions but its not out of the ordinary with a county hospital.
I'm glad. It kinda feels like I am getting all my ducks in a row for the first time in a long time.

wendy it sounds like you're in good hands. i glad u're happy with her
wish - hie girl good to see you. hows schooling?
betty - i havent told my landlady i may be moving. i'll tell her as soon as i hve found a place and confirmed it.  the girls who stayed in the garage packed up and then went and told her as their stuff was being moved out. no-one pays attention to the 'notice' business. like they came and said "rents gone up for next month" just like that.
netta - i sometimes wish too that i could go back to being a child, just eat, play and sleep and  let the grown ups do all the stressing about life :-)

mr out-of-town is coming to town today. i hadnt expected him for at least a week or so so im rather 'unprepared'.  thing is i wanted to see what it felt and looked like so i shaved myself 'there' and it hasnt grown back yet and i feel so silly :-[ i dont know what he thinks of shaving there. well whats done is done :D

Morning ladies,

Netta, that's cute what your granddaughter said.  Yes, wouldn't it be nice to go back in life, knowing everything we do now.  Things would be different for me, that's for sure.

Queen, glad your eye's clearing up.  I hope they can get your hearing aid fixed quickly.  It must really suck being without it.

Jamie, good to see you!  How's classes?

Wendy, I'm so glad you have a new doctor that you like.  I hope you can get into the GI soon and get your tummy feeling better.

Tendai, it's too bad you don't have a lease like we do here for when you rent that locks in how much rent you pay for a year.  About the shaving...you know, I had to chuckle when I read that.  I used to do that when I was much younger.  I think most men like it, 'cause it makes them feel like they're with a virgin or some shit (that's my thoughts).  Have fun with Mr. Out.

Andrea, what's going on with you?

I worked a bit on my family tree that's going to be due in one of my classes.  We're supposed to write a narrative about our families to go along with the tree.  I'm unsure yet of what I'm going to write.  My family is pretty messed up, insanity and all that.  And I really don't want to air all our dirty laundry.

Today I think I might go see 'Milk.'  Other than that, I'm going to work on schoolwork and get a few things at the store.  You ladies have a good day.

Mini went to the clinic yesterday and as predicted, she has another double ear infection and strep throat.  This time the PA (physician's assistant) listened to me rant and rave for about 20 minutes.  She'd seen Mini before, and remembered her, so that helped.  She referred us to 2 ENTs and we're supposed to get a phone call from their offices letting us know when her appointments are.  We were referred to 2 because I interview doctors before I let them see my kids.  These are young guys and relatively new, so hopefully they aren't jaded (and can be easily "molded" by ME!)

Hubby decided against taking #1 and Mini to dance class tonight.  We have about 4 inches of snow in our yard, and it's supposed to change over to freezing rain.  It doesn't look to bad right now, although our road is considered secondary, which means it's last on the list to get cleared and treated.  Also, they wouldn't be driving home until 6:30 tonight - way after nightfall and in the middle of the sleet.  They had their dance homework done (yes, they have written homework in dance class) and I'll have to see if their teacher will email me the work from tonight so they don't get behind.

I took out a ham for dinner tonight and chicken thighs that I'll put in the crockpot tomorrow with some BBQ sauce for dinner.  I made some mint dark chocolate chip cookies, finished Mim's dress for a Narnia-themed birthday party on Saturday, finished the laundry, had school with the kids, and eventually will get my shower.

Hubby let me in on my surprise for Friday night.  He made arrangements with my mom and dad for them to come and watch the kids so he and I can go out for my birthday.  They'll be here around 3 so we can have cake for the kids' snack (which he and the kids will make).  Then, we'll be off to a movie, dinner, and whatever else adults do when they don't have to worry about what time to be home. ;D  Anyway, he "had" to tell me because he knows I'm a planner and will take out stuff for Friday's dinner tomorrow (Wed.).  I need to make sure it's something they just need to either throw in the oven, or take out of the crockpot.  I'll probably just make tacoes.

So, anything out there worth watching?  Benjamin Button sounds good, but sitting on my tooshie for over 2 1/2hrs isn't my idea of fun.  I can sit on my tooshie at home.  I wish the weather was nicer.  I'd opt for a good book, a nice shade tree, and a great picnic.  But, with a high of 24F and chance of snow, it'll have to be an inside affair.  Oh, well, I can get in trouble inside ;)

Hope all of you are having a wonderful Tuesday!!  Betty, PLEASE be careful going out.  Indiana is supposed to have up to 10 inches of the white stuff today.

Much love to you all!

LOL@shaving down there...Well, I do shave down there now. Why? Because of all places, that's where the gray hair starting showing up first...*LMAO*  Don't feel bad though, Tendai, a lot of people shave down there....I know when I first starting doing it, it itched like hell and was afraid that people would think I had crabs or something. But after awhile that sensation went away, thank the Goddess... ;D

Wishful---I do that too with the garlic and I also use hot peppers. I also sear it on the stove in olive oil before I put it in the oven. Also uses alcoholic beverages to cook it in. Has done it with Arbor Mist White Zinfadel....It was banging...I swear I love Food Network, that is where I get most of my ideas from.

Betty--What sucks about it is the fact soon as one goes down the other soon follows. But what can ya do, ya know? Just roll with it and that's it.

Nothing much going on with me. I went out and got my labs done...6 tubes and pee in a cup....Yay!!! I turned my hearing aid in even though Ed was off today. He'll get to it when he gets back. Hasn't really heard much from Rey lately, all I know is that he has been working a lot. Sexy has been kind of quiet too but I think he is just getting ready for the Super Bowl....I hate that the Steelers are in it but I have to represent.... :-\

My colonoscopy is next month. Since I had to drink that dye stuff for my ct scan of my tummy, I have had constipation,  gas and bloating. which the doc said I would have,so I had to take a laxative, which worked but left me bloated and gasy every time I eat ! I am trying mylanta now. Seems everytime i eat I get gas, I am already on nexium, which use to work great. I don't know whats wrong now. I have been miserable , I took a laxitive Sunday, and I am still runing to the bathroom today! thank god the stores have bathrooms !!! lol

It only itches if you let the hair grow back. I'm working on a new animated signature picture. We will see if I can get it done. I'm sure I will. My hair on my head is longer than in the original pics.

LOL! The shaving....my sister does that. I just get waxed every 6 weeks. I definitely don't remove it all. At my salon they do something called a "Showgirl"  ;D I always thought it was weird that some guys like there to be nothing down there. It makes me think of prepubescent girls. Anyways...

Nothing much happening. I have  just a killer sinus headache and I can wait to take my medicine. It makes me really tired so I take it before bed.

Queen- When you were talking about your eye it reminded me of Pink Eye. I had that once in highschool.

Betty- Let us know how Milk is. I want to see it. There are quite a few movies I would like to see. How long does winter last for you? I mean the snow... :)

Mum- I hope you find a good doctor. When I was little I used to get a lot of ear infections until they put tubes in my ears. After those were gone I would get swimmers ear. Ear pain is pretty bad. I hope Mini feels better soon.

Netta- I would not be able to leave the house! I WILL NOT go number two in a public restroom. I only use mine. Yes, I know...strange. I have driven from public places home praying all the way that God would let me make it home...LOL!

Have a good night everyone!

hie ladies! mr out of town just said "you should have left some instead of getting bald".  Guess he didnt mind all that much. Its not itching as much as i had dreaded though, phew. OMG- this morning as i was getting dressed i felt something run down my back right. so im jumping up and down in a fright and he goes "its a roach". so i took off my shirt and shook it and shook it and i couldnt see any roach. so i put it back on and tihinking it dropped off and ran away. so i look down at my shirt and theres this huge goddam cockroach on my collar staring at me.  should have heard me scream and scream. and he was laughing at me saying "its just a roach". damn right its a roach, thats why i screamed. i hate those things.  bet my landlady must have thought i was being attacked or something.  And what did he say to comfort me? "at least it didnt come out on the bus on the way to work, now thats embarrassing."  ::)
Great news, i got a place!  its a tiny little cottage that belongs to this sweet old white man and his wife.  I told them straight off that i have a boyfriend from out of town who will be coming over so we avoid any problems.  It cost a bit more than i had hoped but thats Zimbabwe for you. Main reason i'm excited about it is because i have my own toilet and shower! and theres neighbourhood watch and its a nice quiet neighbourhood. its closer to work/town and i wont have to catch four buses when i go to my aunts house as the buses use that road. i hope nothing goes wrong between now and the day i move. but theres dogs, nothing vicious thank goodness. :)

Snow, snow, and more snow and snow.  Our road is clear of snow, but not sure if there's a layer of ice.  Our driveway has about 6 inches of ice covered snow on it.  Hubby'll go out later and shovel.  It usually takes about 2hrs to do.

Tendai, congrats on the new place.  Do you have a move date yet?  Will you have the entire cottage to yourself or are you sharing with the older couple?

Betty, I had a yeast infection in my lungs that went undiagnosed for nearly a year.  Now, they are saying that I have allergy induced asthma.  I've always had allergy / sinus issues, but nothing like this.  It gets worse when the air is really dry (we put a humidifier in our bedroom because the heater was drying out the air) and when the weather is really wet (rain or snow).  My lungs end up feeling full and I can't catch my breath.  I take a Zertec every morning.  I have rescue inhalers all over the house and in my purse.  I have a nebulizer that I can go a few days without using at all, but the last couple of days with the snow, I've used it 4x / day.  I have Primatene pills to open my lungs, and I may end up starting those again.

We found a place called Health Access.  It's a group of general practitioners, specialists, a lab, and a pharmacy that charges on a sliding scale based on income.  As soon as we can drive out of here, we'll go pick up an application and bring in our tax forms.  From talking with the other doctor that's been working with me, I'll probably end up on Simbacort (sp?).  But, I can't use HA pharmacy unless the prescription was written by one of their doctors.  According to the lady on the phone, approval takes about 2 business days.  I'm not holding my breath, but it does look promising.

Mim is doing better.  She keeps complaining that her head and ears still hurt.  She's been on antibiotics for 3 days now and should be feeling better.  Last night it was so bad that I had to put numbing drops in her ears.  If it's not better by tomorrow, I'll take her back so they can change her antibiotics.  Our never ending battle.

Hope everyone has a great day.  Stay warm and safe.
Mum

This morning Mini is getting her first sewing machine lesson.  Not sure how I get myself into these things.  Here's hoping it goes better than the cross-stitch lesson.

Morning ladies,

Queen, about itching like it was crabs......I had crabs one time, years ago.  I did shave down there, and then put on the lotion that you get at the drugstore for crabs.  And that took care of that.  The easiest STD I ever had to get rid of.  Anyway, I hope you get your hearing aid back soon and that they both stay working.

Netta, getting bloated/gas when you eat is very uncomfortable.  Did your doctor tell you anything about your diet?  I know when I eat like broccoli, I get bloated and gassy.

Wendy, nice pictures.

Andrea, I  have no clue what a "showgirl" is.  I can imagine, though.  When I stripped, we wore g-strings, and I had to practically shave everything.  Oh, we should be done with the snow sometime in March.

Tendai, YAY!  I am so glad you're moving.  When will it be happening?  About the cockroach, I would have been screaming also.  Egads, that's awful.  I hope you like your new place.  It sounds better.

Mum, I remember the yeast infection you had in your lungs.  It was brought on, we thought, by that building where the dance lessons were at, wasn't it?  Anyway, I used to work for an allergist/immunologist, and he took care of people who had allergy-induced asthma.  Once he got them on a good regimen that took care of their allergies, they didn't have any more trouble with their asthma.  Can you see an allergist?

'Milk' was an awesome movie.  Very sad at the end.  I never knew about the history of that whole time frame (that particular part in history anyway).  It's a good movie, and anyone who was wondering should go see it.

We got about 4-5 inches of snow.  I guess that means that the foot that was in my yard is not almost 20 inches.  Things have got to get better soon, don't they?  Someone tell me spring is almost here.

I really have nothing going on other than homeworik and class tonight.  You ladies have a good day.

Betty, through Health Access, I'll be able to see an allergist, a pulmonologist (sp?), and if necessary, a respiratory therapist.  The yeast infection was caused by the old studio.  We're in a new one and what I've got now is nowhere NEAR the problems I had with the yeast.  I'm keeping a journal of the weather, building conditions (there's lots of old people in our church so it is ALWAYS hot and dry in the winter), what activities I was involoved in, what I needed to take and when I needed to take it, and how it worked.  This should help whoever I end up with narrow down what's going on and keep them from repeating things I've already tried.

OK, I'm really uninformed.  What is Milk?  You said it was about history - the history of Milk?

Be careful going to class tonight, hun, the weather seems to just be getting worse.  I NEED sunshine.

Hello Ladies, Today I am a little nervous after getting a call from my gyn doctor. They said my pap smear was abnormal and I must have a COLPOSCOPY, which is  like a biopsy, where they use a special lite to see abnormal cells and take a sample. Of course I am scared, they might be cancerous, but after reading about it, it could be a number of things, like the HPV virus, yeast, bacteria or low estrogen, which I think is the latter, since i have been off estrogen for a while. Also being hiv+ can cause an abnormal pap smear. the thing is i have this befor, and when  was 19, I had to have a procedure called cyrp to freeze the bad cells so they wouldn't grow into cancer. This was succesful, and since then, no problems till now. Please keep me in prayer.
TENDAI- great news about your new home !!!

Well, I got a wake up call from my sister this morning. It would seem that a lady and her son was walking and slipped on a patch of ice in front of my car. I had to hear about that which I felt bad because the patch of ice came from one of those days I didn't feel good enough to go out and shovel. With the fresh snow on top if it, I guess the kid slipped and busted his lip. The lady got to screaming at my sister, talking about she was going to call my landlord, yada yada. I put some salt over the icy patch but what the hell, I do get out there and shovel. Of course, I had to hear from my sister on how much she shovels. I got out there soon as my sister told me about the lady then around noon shoveled again but it is still coming down. Not going back out there til later this evening. I am doing all I can.

My audiologist called today, my hearing aid is back but I can't go get it til Friday. I am wondering what I can do about Lucifer being aggressive. He bit me today for no reason, not the first time he has done it either. He just doesn't bite and run, he locks on like he is some damn pit bull. Never had this happen with other cats I have had and I thought him getting fixed would do something about that. I thinks sometimes he bites me because I won't let him in the basement. I mean he actually gets on his hind legs and starts jumping at the basement door. He's definitely one of a kind but I could do without the biting.

Tendai===I hear you girl. I had roach problems at the last place I was at and bombed like crazy when I moved here to make sure I didn't bring any with me. I just get pissed when landlords know they have a roach problem and don't want to do anything about it or tries to blame you for bringing them. Congrats on the new place.

Well, I need to go throw my clothes in the dryer.......

Netta, I had one of those after #5 was born.  Mine was done in the office.  Hubby came with me and so did the baby.  My midwife let them both in with me, so you can ask about someone coming in to hold your hand.  They actually use vinegar to see the abnormal cells then go in and yank some stuff out.  I was never offered anything to take the edge off, but it wasn't too bad.  The worst part was the no sex for 10 days and the coffee-ground discharge for 4 or 5 days after.  I was a little sore, but it was nothing compared to childbirth.  After, I had to have paps done every 3mths for a year to make sure they all came back OK.  I will certainly keep you in my prayers.

Mum, 'Milk' is a film about the first openly gay politician in the U.S.  It's very good and very touching.

Netta, I believe Andrea (vivyt) just went through a colposcopy.  I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Queen, is there something in the basement that's attracting Lucifer?  I don't believe I've ever heard of a cat locking onto someone.  I hope those bite sites are alright.

Thanks, Betty.  I've never heard of it.  I'll have to check if it's playing here this weekend.  So it's based on a true story?  I'm suprised the guy it's about hasn't been on the news shows and stuff to talk about it.  Interesting.

Mum, the reason Harvey Milk isn't on the news and talk shows is because he was assasinated, along with San Francisco's mayor in the 1970's, by a disgruntled city employee.

Hi Ladies-
I have been trying to keep up with what has been going on with everyone but doubt I will be able to, so if I forget someone, I apologize.

Winn- Sorry to hear about that episode you had with your friend on the phone, that must have been scary.  I am glad they are getting help.  That is so awesome you found a new doc and that your first meeting went well.  I love your new pics too.

Ten- I am so happy you found a new place to live, that is going to be great!  I lilke to shave down there too and like everyone else said, it will itch when it grows back.  That roach story was pretty funny, I would have done the same thing.

Hi Camms- Nice to see you!

Viv- Sorry to hear about what is going on with your Dad and your Mom. We are having dress down day this Friday for the superbowl.  The kids always enjoy that.

BT-Spring is almost here if you consider about 10 weeks "almost"  ;D  I feel ya, the kids had no school today because we were getting snow and then rain and then it is supposed to be really cold tonight.  I would like to move away from this crap, eventually.

Queen- I have never heard of a cat biting like that either, sounds painful.

Minimum- I hope Mini is feeling better and has fun at her party.  How did the sewing lessons go?  You must have the patience of a saint.  Happy Birthday, if I don't get back on before the actual day.  That is so nice you will be able to get out.

Netta- I hope things go well with your colposcopy.  Try not to worry too much beforehand.  How are things going with new man?

Keeping- Sorry I missed your text.  I keep shutting my phone off by mistake.  I will talk to you soon.

Drag- I hope you are doing well.  We miss you!

I haven't  been doing much.  Trying to survive this weather.  I hate being stuck in the house.

Thanks, Betty, now I feel stupid.  I'll google him later and read up on him.  Probably should have done that to begin with..lol.

Snow, good to hear from you again, hun.  Thanks for the birthday wishes. The big 36 is coming up on Monday.  I'm hoping we still get to go out - the weather doesn't look real promising. :-\  Hubby and the boys shoveled us out yesterday so that we can get to the grocery store today.  Schools have a 2-hour delay, so the road crews will be out on our little road.

The sewing lessons went MUCH better than the cross-stitch lessons. Poor thing can't sew a straight line, but we're working on it.  The good thing isn't that I'm patient - it's that she's patient (and persistant).  Her sewing maching is tiny, only does a chain stitch, and she doesn't have to back it up to lock in the stitches - it does it automatically.  Also, she can either use the pedal, or a button on the machine to make it go and stop.  That's a good thing, since when she's sitting at the kitchen table, her feet don't reach the floor.

Next, she wants to learn to crochet.  Not sure I'm up for that lesson..lol.  I told her that she needs to learn one thing at a time.  I'm sure when she gets up, she'll talk about in her thread.  Now my middle daughter and all 3 of my boys want to learn to sew. ;D

Well, ladies, since I'm up, I may as well do something productive.  I'm off to make my rounds of the other boards and then I have a date with the washer.  Love to you all!

Morning ladies,

Snow, 10 weeks seems like forever.  Especially when it's continually cold and the snow never seems to stop.  But, that's what winter is supposed to be like I guess.  Being stuck in the house sucks.  I don't know what I would do sometimes if it weren't for the computer.

Mum, that's alright about Milk.  I really wasn't all that familiar with the story either until I saw the movie.  Sean Penn did such a wonderful job portraying him, it was unreal.    I don't know how to sew, cross-stitch, crochet or any of the like.  When I was in 9th grade, I had to take home ec. and we had to sew something on a sewing machine.  I sewed a wrap-around skirt, as it was the easiest thing to sew.  Of course, I don't remember anything from then.  My mum had a friend who would sew all her's and her family's clothes and they always looked really nice.  Tell Mini she's doing much better than I could do.  How's she feeling?

I'm up way early, I know.  It's 17F out and a bit chilly in my apartment.  I really don't have anything exciting to report.  I'm just up and wanted to check in.  I wonder what's happened to Drag and Cin?  Drag hasn't been on in ages.  Anyway, I'll be back later.  Have a good one.

Betty, she's still complaining about headaches and says her ears hurt.  I just got an email that said as of 2005 the FDA was asking drug companies to voluntarily withdraw all meds that contain phenyl..... which is the ingredient in the decongestant the doctor told us to give her (Triactin - Walmart's version of triaminic).

I called the pharmacy to see what med she was on time before last.  It's the one that has worked the best.  Then, I called the clinic back and told them to call in a prescription for THAT med since the one she's on isn't working (and never has).  I also asked that they put a note in her records NOT to prescribe it.  The pharmacy doesn't open until 9am so I can't call until then to make sure that the clinic called it in.

Stay warm and have a great day!

Welcome Happy! Nice to have you with us. I read your story also. You have so much to live for, never forget that !!!
Betty- I don 't mis living up north one bit.! hope theweather lets up, it is 57 here in georgia, don't mean to rub it in your face, think warm thoughts. You know you cam learn to crochet and online, they have video tuturials for free.
Well every thing went well at the gyn today, the colpo, showed no  bad cells. she said the hysterectomy took care of all the bad cells, but I must repeat in 3 months. The doctor said my only problem was that I had Inpacted Constipation!!! get this, my ct scan showed this and my hernia healed itself. I can't get over this , because I go to the bathroom regulary, sometimes 3x a day!!!.That doesn't matter, SO I must continue my colon cleansing, this will help a lot. She really listens and gave me a list of vitamins to take including, probiotics to boost my immune system, also b12 shots for energy, I must go the her office to geet the shots. We will see if this works, my id doc says it doesn't work on hiv+ people. I must watch my diet and eat healthy, the gas and bloating are all constipation.Plus no. 1 thing, drink more WATER !!!! I have a hard time with this,I am going to by a juicer, and buy veggies and fruit in bulk from Sams and the farmers market, This will be an investment, but I am worth it. MY boo will be moving here on the 12th of Feb,2009 and I can't wait. His job is laying off, but he will find another job.Thank God for the new stimulas package, that will create and save some jobs, many plants closing here in the south, things are really bad., but it gets worse before it gets better. Untill then, Keep on Trucking.

Not much going on with me really. I had an appointment today but I missed it. I overslept but my friend got into a car accident at Walmart the other day. So, I assumed he wasn't coming anyway. For some reason I couldn't even get to sleep until 3 am. And got up about an hour ago. I finally got to talk to Rey yesterday. First time I have chatted with someone on Yahoo all day. Weather and work permitting, we may see each other tomorrow. I paid Sexy a visit yesterday but I didn't stay long because someone is always knocking on his door, seriously. And that got on my nerves...

The snow has decided to let up finally but yesterday we broke all kind of records for our area. Then on the news it said this 15 year old fired off 2 shots from his gun. One bullet hit the girl in her hip, not sure about the other one. So, the kid skips town but the police found him by looking on MySpace. That was so funny to me that I was in tears. Just think when he goes to jail, he has to try to live that down. But at least there was no fatalities.

Other than that, just another day in the hood......

Happy- Welcome! I haven't read your story yet but I will.

Mum- I wish I knew how to sew. I know how to crossstich although I probably don't do it the "correct" way. I took a knitting class once and I just could not do it. I felt like the biggest idiot and just gave up. I hope the medicine works for Mini.

Betty- I have been meaning to ask about your smoking. You're still of the cigs, right???? :)

Snow- Hi! I don't know how all of you who live where it snows can stand it. I don't think I could live anywhere but California.

Netta- I'm glad everything went well at the gyno. Too bad about the colon thing.... :P Juicing is really good. I used to juice ALL the time. I have been thinking about getting back into it. My favorite is carrot, spinach, and apple..YUMMY!

Nothing else going on here. I have been having a really emotional 2 weeks and I don't know what it going on. I have cried myself to sleep a couple of times. I have excepted the HIV but I think that it is really hitting me. I told my therapist that I don't even think about the future, I just go one day at a time. I guess I just have to work through this...... :) Well that's about all. Stay warm all my ladies in the snow!

Hey Ladies,

What's going on. I haven't done much. I went to work and came home and cooked. I helped the children with their homework and done my own. I am bushed now. I have to make sure they get their bathes and wash the dishes and I'm off to bed. Today was a pretty good day here in the SIP. It was 65 degrees here. But it was like 35 yesterday. That was so cold.

Happy- Welcome to the Womens Forum

Tendai- I'm happy you found a new house

Viv- I get like that sometimes, but i try to pray and keep it going. I will be praying for you.

Vyv, I can't knit to save my life.  I've tried several times, but I just can't get it.  I wish I would've learned when I was younger - it would've been easier, I think.  My mum can crochet and knit.  She taught me to crochet when I was 5, but I'm not sure why knitting took a back seat.  As for sewing, I can sew easy stuff, but nothing too complicated or anything that has to stand up to too much scrutiny.  For those things, I hand it over to my mum.

I remember when Mim was first diagnosed.  I didn't let myself think about the future, either.  I gave up the dreams of her going to college, dating, getting married, having kids.  Even after I "accepted" the HIV and got into the routine of doctors, meds, tests, and therapists, it took a long time (6yrs+) before I began to let myself start thinking of those things again.  It was almost like things were going well but I was still waiting for the other shoe to drop.  I'm still not 100%, but it's getting better.

Keeping, good to hear from you again!  How much longer do you have until you're finished with school?  I admire you and Betty for going back.  I know I couldn't at this point in my life.  I expect a graduation invitation from you, too.

It looks like my plans for an evening out are going to get scrapped.  The weather is supposed to bomb this afternoon and I don't want to spend the evening worrying about having to get home because the weather starts getting bad.  And, my parents live about 10 miles from us and it's all back country roads.  I'd worry about them getting home safely, too.  Of course yesterday was cold, but clear.  Tomorrow is supposed to be nice - up to 40, but Mim has a birthday party to go to from 2 - 4pm.  Not enough time to go out before or after.  Oh, well.

Not much planned now for today.  We'll have school and I'll do laundry.  Hubby will shovel again and salt the driveway.  Everything that melted yesterday froze overnight.  He had to use a pick ax yesterday to break it up.  Oh, the joys of living in the frigid north.  I'm ready for Spring!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Afternoon Ladies :)

Thank you very much for the kind words and the warm welcome. I feel part of the family already.
Today I kinda had a not so good day.
As much as one tries to stay away from stressfull situations, they are always there.
My sister wanted to register to study,
I paid the registration fee to the University account only to be told that the course she wants to register is no longer accepting new students  >:(
She stays with my mom in the other part of the country and my mother is stressing because she is crying non stop

I have not told either of them about my status
My mom has a heart condition and she is 64,I do not want to be the one who kills her with shock
What makes it worse I am a breadwinner at home
So that will hit them damn hard

It is raining here but it is not cold.

Mum - I still find my thoughts wondering when I think about the future as well.
I think at some stage I thought I was going to die tommorrow
I am training my mind not to let negative thoughts bother me.
I am finishing course work this year and next year I will start with research
Invitation you will definitely get

Tendai- We are neighbours.Maybe one day I will visit Zim, people say its a beautiful country regardless of the instability
I admire you for sticking around

Netta - We are getting rationalised as well, the platinum prices have gone down and the mines are not doing well
You boo will be fine and I know exactly what they are going through

Thank you once more ladies

With love

Happy

Good Morning Ladies.  Welcome to Happy1976, glad to have you here. The ladies are great and the men in the other part of the forums are great, too. I tend to stick to the ladies forum but this whole place is full of wonderful people.                                                                   Minismum, I am sorry that your plans for a evening out got cancelled, maybe you can go when the roads clear. I read about Mini's purple dress for the Narnia party. I bet she looks really beautiful. I read all those books when I was much younger and they were really great.              Keeping, sounds like you really have a full schedule. You go, girl. I can barely keep up with one child's home work.                                             Viv,hope you get to feeling better.  Wish I had more to say but I will keep you in my thoughts.                                                                      Queen, Glad you got to talk to Rey and   I can understand being irritated by people constantly knocking on Sexy's door. I would leave , too.Glad the snow stopped. Stay safe and warm. I hope your Friend didn't get hurt in the accident.  Next time Lucifer bites you, bop him on the head. He shouldn't be biting like that, he might just be frustrated but exert your dominance over him and maybe he will quit.                                                                                   Netta, glad the colposcopy went well. Sorry about the constipation. I know you are excited about your Boo coming. Things are bad here in the south but I think they are bad all over. Hopefully it will get better soon.                                                                  Betty,   Try to stay safe and warm. I saw the commercials for that movie Milk and it looks like a great movie. I'd go nuts if it wasn't for my books and the computer. It's too cold for me outside. I bundle up and go outside anyway but not for long.                                                  Snow, hope things are going well for you. How are your babies?  I hate winter time but at least it kills most of the bugs.                           Tendai, glad you found a new place to live. I hate roaches, but that story was funny. I worked for an insurance company once, in the file room and there were giant roaches in the bathroom. I would scream and run even though I had on Timberlands, I refused to go in there.                                                                                Well, things are good here. I put in a few job applications but only to one place that I would consider working. The other places, I would end up arguing with the boss so that won't work.  Nothing going on today. Laundry, vacuuming and reading until Robert gets home. Hope everyone has a great day. Later.   Cristy

Morning ladies,

Welcome, Happy!  I'm glad you decided to join us.  I'm sure your sister will be alright.  Is there some other course she can take?

Netta, I am so glad your colposcopy was clear.  That's one less worry.  I used to juice all the time.  I loved carrot juice, which I was surprised about; but, fresh carrot juice is really sweet.  It costs quite a bit to juice, though, as it takes so many things to get one glass of juice.  But, if you can do it, I'd go for it.

Queen, is everything alright?

Andrea, do those 2 emotional weeks have to do with your mom and dad?  I know you've been having issues with them.  I used to plan for my memorial service, will etc.  That was, of course, back when I first got diagnosed (1989).  Things were grimmer then.  Now, there's no reason, other than the usual physical stuff, that people with HIV won't live much longer lives.  I know it's hard to accept, especially when first diagnosed.  But, just give yourself time.  And cry all you want.  That's how feelings come out.  There's an old Indian saying, something like "the soul would have no rainbow, if the eyes had no tears."

Keeping, I think you and I will be done at the same time with school (provided I pass everything).  Won't you be glad?

Mum, geesh, I'm sorry you don't get to go out tonight.  Are you sure you're going to get dumped on weather wise?  Is there anyway you can go out over the weekend?   You and your hubby deserve a night out.  How is Mini?

Cristy, I'm glad you know your limits with the jobs.  If you took one that wouldn't suit you,  you probably wouldn't last, and that wouldn't be good.  I don't know about there, but here with welfare, if one quits a job without good reason, one gets, oh, like "punished."

Things as far as factories are concerned are bad here also.  Elkhart county (one county to the east of me), is the RV capital and they have the highest unemployment rate in the state.  Michigan, which my city borders, has the highest unemployment rate in the country.  Of course, that's where the auto makers are, and that has a lot to do with it.  It's bad all over, and I hope the stimulus gets passed through the senate, and that it helps.  I feel very blessed to have social security, since it's pretty much a steady income.  It does suck to be poor, but it would suck even more to not have anything coming in.

Last night's Biology class went much better.  The professor was talking about genes (not only does he have his master's in biology, he also has his master's in genetics), and how they're finding out more about it being genetic when a person is gay.  He told us about his daughter coming out to him, and how she's a medical doctor now.  On break, he (he knows I have Aids) told me about him being the educator and researcher for Elkhart Country in the mid 80's regarding HIV.  And he told me about how he used to educate the kids in schools etc.  So, now I can't dislike him, because he's very human to me.  At least that makes the class bearable.  He also said he would meet with us before class if we're having problems.  I told him that before the final, I would have to meet with him, to find out exactly what it is he wants.  So, things are going a bit better there.

The weather outside is frightful and frigid.  It's only 12F here.  At least it's not blizzarding. I saw Clarkson, Kentucky on the news this morning and how 95% of the town is without power because of horrible ice storms.  I know they're not prepared to deal with that kind of stuff there.  I'm glad it's not like that here.  Sunday it's supposed to warm up to 37F.  Wow, that's going to be a heatwave.  I have a lot of homework to do today, and nothing planned other than that. You ladies have a good day.

Betty, the main problem with the couple places I KNOW won't work out is my schedule. I basically have a very set schedule I can work but one manager told me"I make the schedule and you would work when I need you" . I just smiled and finished talking to her and left. Definitely not gonna call back on that one.      Yes, It feels like the welfare people punish you period, not just for quitting. I have found a couple really great ladies there that help a lot but I couldn't do their job I'm grateful for the help but hate it sometimes.   I  can get unemployment for about 4 more months and all I have to do is apply to 2 places per week. I will find something that suits me in that time.   I'm going Monday to apply for more jobs.                                                                                 Kinda bored, I have the house to myself but am done cleaning so now it's internet time.    Talk to you later.   Cristy

Hey everyone! I am not even going to attempt to catch up. I will save that for a day when I am not so busy. Of course I live in Kentucky and am one of those half million people without power. Besides being freezing, it is just plain boring. I did finally go to work today and am swamped. A tree fell on my car and cracked the windshield. Nice. Last week both of my daughters had some kind of viral infection. The only symptom they had was fevers. My four year old's got up to 104.3 at one point. It lasted about 4 days so I had to stay home most of last week cooped up in the house so being at work today is actually a treat. Hope everyone is doing well. I will check back in soon.

Betty, my parents and Hubby thought that it would, and don't you know it - we had sun from 3 - 5 before the sun went down and not one lick of snow since this morning.  Oh, well.  Hubby did the laundry for me and he and the kids baked me a cake.  We're celebrating today because Monday (my actual birthday) will be busy with Mim's ENT appt. then dance class  for #4, #5, and me right after.  Tuesday our oldest son and Mim dance, so that's out.  Wed. is church, and our schedule just keeps going.  Maybe next year :-\

The clinic called today and refuses to write another prescription for Mini.  I went into detail in LW.  ( I even cursed twice, betty!) I'm so frustrated with the whole thing - I'm starting to take it personally.

I'm also bummed because our dance concert was changed to May 8th.  My parents, grandmother, aunt, uncle, and cousin won't be able to come because they are all flying out to Arkansas that night for my other cousin's wedding - which I was supposed to go to and now I can't.  They missed our winter concert because of 2 accidents that blocked their way out.

Sorry for the glum.  It's just been a bummy day all the way around.

Morning ladies,

Cristy, here, where the governor privatized welfare, no one has it good anymore.  Because once the agency is privatized, the money really does belong to the employees, so the more people they can keep off their rolls, the more money they make.  It's awful.

Netta, I used to get B12 shots back in the early 90's.  I think I would get extra energy, but it would only last for a day.

Jenny, wow.  It just doesn't sound like you've had a very good time of things lately.

Mum, I'm so sorry you had to miss your night out.  What's going on this weekend?  Can you go sometime today or tomorrow?  I realize you have church tomorrow, but not all day.  Anyway, how was your cake?

Another day.  My daughter called me at 5:30 this morning.  It's 3 hours earlier where she's at, and she had just finished work.  She said she thought I'd be up (I don't know why she'd think that).  So, I talked to her for about an hour.  She had an ultrasound done Monday and is due June 16 and they think she is having a girl.

Today, if my best friend feels better, we might go see 'The Wrestler,' and go to a meeting.  It's only 11F here right now, but it's supposed to warm up to 31F.  I might have to wear a t-shirt.  That's about it for me today.  You ladies have a good day.

Good morning my ladies!

Happy- I'm glad you came on over to join us. So no one in your family knows about your status? My family knows but only one of my friends knows. Sometimes I just want to tell everyone so I don't have to think about it.

CJ- Good luck on the job front! Right now California is in an economic crisis and of course the first place they want to cut back is education. Many school districts are laying off thousands of teachers. They are trying to prepare us at our district. I'm a little worried....

Betty- Yes, I'm still having a hard time with my parents. I'm sure things will get better though. I'm glad things went well in your class. The teacher seems like he is a nice guy.

Netta- I would LOVE more energy... :)

Mum- I'm sorry your birthday plans got messed up. Did the cake turn out good??

Jenny- I heard something about the power outage on the news. What exactly is going on?

Nothing much going on. I want to get all my work done today so I can just do nothing tomorrow. My sister's birthday is tomorrow and tonight she is having a party. My dad is in Florida visiting his sister and this is the first time she has been left alone. She is going to be 19. She was in Texas visiting my mom and just got back on Wednesday. I had been checking the mail and the house like my dad requested but now that she is there I feel like I shouldn't have to. She can do all that...although we will see if it will get done. I worry that she is doing stuff that she shouldn't but I am going to let it go.....see therapy works...LOL!!!

Have a good day everyone!

Morning Ladies----

Nothing eventful really happened yesterday other than Lucifer trying to take another bite out of me. This time he climbed up my arm and decided to bite me twice.Christy, I let him know who the Alpha is around here. When I caught him I spanked him, bit him back and put him in his room for awhile. Sort of a kitty time out, I guess you would call it. I got so mad, I called the vet and made an appointment to see the doctor. The nurse who answered the phone said it could be behavorial(sp?).He seems to do it when he wants in the basement or lately when Rey comes over. Yesterday it was before he even got here though so I don't know but it is pissing me off.

Speaking of Rey, he came over yesterday to spend some time with me. But that came to a screeching halt when the plumbers got to banging on my freaking door. Yeah, the landlord finally decided to send someone to fix the damn drain but I didn't even get a notice, phone call or anything saying they were coming. Talk about raining on my parade but he should be coming over this afternoon. Hopefully with no distractions.... ;D

Mum---I hope you feel better soon. I hate when things don't go according to plan..

Netta--Nah, I don't live in Philly, I am about 7 hours away from there. And hasn't been there in years, use to go when I lived in Harrisburg...

That's about it for me, gotta start getting ready....Have a good day everyone...

Today, Mim has a birthday party from 2 - 4 and my mum had to take my grandmothers to the grocery store so we don't have anyone to watch the kids.  Tomorrow we have church in the morning and then Hubby is taking us all to Cracker Barrel - about 45 minute drive - for lupper.  We usually go back to church at night, but it was cancelled because of the Super Bowl.  My parents gave us a raincheck that we hope to "cash in" either next Friday or Saturday.

The cake turned out well.  All the kids got to help mix it and put on the icing.  They sang "Happy Birthday", danced around for a bit (from the sugar rush), then we snuggled down and watched a movie together.  I was sound asleep before 10...lol!  It turned out to be a wonderful evening - even if it didn't turn out the way we planned.

Vyv, I didn't realize that you were in California.  Are they really going to give everyone an IOU instead of their tax returns and benefits?  How do they expect people to eat?  That's got to be seriously scarey for you.  Are they cutting funding to programs?  I'm thinking about free / reduced lunches for the kids, special needs services...wow, the list goes on and on.  I'll certainly keep you and the entire state in my prayers.

Queen, it could've been worse - they could've just walked right on in without knocking.  In that case, they deserved to see what they saw..lol!  I thought you gave Lucifer away, or was it Nefertiti?  Not sure what's up with him , but I agree that the biting has to stop.  Did he behave after his time out?

Nothing much going on today.  Kids are eating lunch, then I've got to get Mim ready for her party.  I'll take pictures of her in her Narnia dress (it's nothing fancy, but she thinks so) and post them later tonight or tomorrow.

Happy Saturday all my sweeties!

Mum- Well as always there is more to all the info that is put out there. There has been talk about I.O.U.'s and children not gettting their food, etc. What is happening is this: California has increased the size of government and spending when the revenue has not increased. The government keeps spending and doesn't want to cut back on anything. They are trying to increase the taxes claiming that to be the only way to help the deficit. As far as the tax returns go, they will probably delay them until the payments come in. California already is one of the highest taxed states in the country so increasing it would be crazy. What we need to do is cut back. Education gets the most money followed by the all the subsidies (disability, welfare, free/reduced lunches, etc.) There are a lot of people who abuse it and drain the system. There is not time limit or regulations in regards to income subsidation. In fact, CA is out of compliance with the federal government. We have students in our school, which is in a middle/high income are who get free lunch, but are dropped off at school in Hummer's and Escalades. There is also the illegal immigration factor that we have here in southern CA. There is just a lot. The politicians would rather charge us more then cut back their spending and programs. Here is one example of spending, government officials get a per diem, vehicles, gas for the vehicles, and insurance for the vehicales all paid by tax dollars. That's a lot of  $$$
Anyways....it will be interesting to see what happens.

Morning ladies,

Andrea, I'm glad you're not getting involved with watching your sister.  Good for you.  I hope you stick to it.  She's an adult, let her make adult choices and pay adult consequences.    California sounds screwed up, but I think most states have their drawbacks.  When my daughter went to school (I was on disability), we had to fill out a form and send copies in (for reduced/free lunches), of income and any welfare benefits.  Of course, that doesn't mean people weren't really living well from doing other things.  I remember before the food stamp card came out, when they used to be like cash dollars and I had to go to the welfare office to get them, some people would drive Cadillacs, Lincolns etc.  So, who knows what they were actually up to.  Well, I have a pretty good idea.

Queen, I had a cat when I was 16, who was spade, and a male.  When I got together with a boyfriend, and the boyfriend came over, the cat started spraying.  He was jealous.  I wonder if Lucifer is jealous of Rey?  Maybe not, but that's what it made me think of.  Anyway, I'm glad your plumbing's getting fixed.

Mum, so, hopefully you'll be able to go out next weekend.  I've got my fingers and legs crossed for you.  I'm looking forward to seeing Mini in her dress.  And I hope she gets my card soon; does it take longer for mail because of where you live?  When I mail something to my daughter in Washington, it takes about five days for her to get it.  Happy early birthday to you, by the way.  Tomorrow is the actual day, isn't it?

I saw 'The Wrestler' last night.  OMG, it was such a good movie.  I cried a bit at the end.  It was a deep movie, but extremely well done.  Mickey Rourke did a hell of a job; I can see why he's up for an academy.  And Marissa Tomei did a good job also.  I recommend the movie to everyone (adults only, of course).  I'm hoping to go see 'Frost/Nixon,' and 'The Reader' soon.  Today I'm taking my granddaughter to the dollar theater to see 'The Tales of Desperaux.'  I got her the book, so now she wants to see the movie.  I'm glad it's at the dollar theater, I can save a little money that way.  She had said last week she wants to go see 'Mall Cop.'  I suppose that movie would appeal to her age group, with the slapstick comedy and all.  Anyway, I'm taking her out to lunch first, probably at Ihop.

I got my Biology homework done yesterday, and I'm so relieved.  All I have left to do is write one paper for my other class, "The Family."  We usually write two papers a week for that class, but they're not too difficult, as they're usually reflection papers.  Anyway, that's going to be my day.  I hope you ladies have a good one.

Betty-- I am thinking he is jealous too but he was doing this biting thing before Rey came into the picture. The biting is getting worse, it's getting to the point that he is breaking skin and drawing blood. I am wondering if he can get infected from me? He has an appointment with the vet on Thursday, not sure whether to mention this or not.

It's the freaking Super Bowl, not really into it since my team isn't there but I will represent since Pittsburgh is in it. I use to be into it back in the day but to me, the half-time show isn't as good as it use to be back in the day. I did watch it when Prince did it one year. Missed the wardrobe meltdown with Justin and Janet. I am suppose to watch it with my sister but it depends on how I feel.

I stayed up most of the night playing Warcraft. I think I finally went to sleep around 4:30 this morning. I am surprised I am up now to be honest with you. When I get motivated to move, I have to go to the store. And change the batteries in my phone, that is the highlight of my day-----Can we all say "Yay".... ;D

hie y'all

Happy - welcome to the forums! I read your story and it sounds like u got a new lease of life.  Did you get a refund for the money you paid at the university? So whats the plan, she looks for another course or change university or what? I can understand how frustrating it must be.

Queen - i hope u find out whats wrong with Lucifer before he does serious damage to you. I had to laugh about the guy who got caught thru MySpace. Oh the wonders of modern technology... Did u finally get some uninterrupted time with Rey?

netta - great about the colposcopy. i hope all the fruit and veggies work for you. the countdown begins for the arrival of your man. bet u going to have lotsa fun

mum - fingers crossed you get to have your night out this weekend. also cant wait to see the pics of mini in her dress

andrea - isnt it weird how some governments are so okay with letting the education system go down the drain. here our kids havent learnt anything much these past few months, those who wrote exams didnt have results coz there was noone to mark the exams. they were using SOLDIERS to mark the exams.  hopefully  now the "government of national unity" things will change for the better coz these kids have wasted 2 years of their education time coz of the rubbish in the government.

cristy - good luck again job hunting. i hope u find something suitable.

jenny - i know how it is having no electricity in the cold.  thank goodness our temperatures dont get too low.  i used to get bored out of mind when i was off work and the power was out. what are u using for cooking and all?

well i moved on saturday. had to wait for a few hours coz the previous occupant hadnt moved out and had gone to town with the keys. finally finished packing on sunday morning and felt like i'd just lost a match to Beth Phoenix, i ached all over and was moving like an old woman.  the place is fine, tho the kitchen is sooo empty, i msut get some chairs or something. plus i have a sort of garden all to myself, i wish i were the gardening type. best part is im so close to work i can leave the house at 7.30 and make it in the office long before 8, so i dont have to wake up so early :D

Happy Birthday to me!!  36yrs young and still going strong (but feeling OLD).

Betty, your card came Saturday.  Thank you so much!!  Poppy's new picture is tucked in with his old one and both are safely tucked in her box that she sleeps with. ;D  The card is taped to our fridge.

Today we're taking Mim to see the new ENT.  Keep your fingers crossed that this guy LISTENS.  Honestly, is that too much to ask?  I just need to get off this never ending merry-go-round that's spinning in circles and going nowhere.

After church yesterday, we went to Cracker Barrel for lunch.  Then, we went to my parents' house so the kids could sled.  All of our snow was gone, but my parents have parts of their yard that don't get sun so they had a nice slope.  We ate pizza and cake for dinner, watched the 1st quarter of the Super Bowl, and went home.  My mom kept calling telling us what was going on with the game.

My grandmother gave me the 1st book (there's 4 total) of the "Twilight" book series.  She has all 4 of them.  As soon as I finish "The Seven" trilogy, I'll get started on it.

That's all from this side of the mountain.  I'll get hubby to download the pictures from the party.  It was really a great party.

Great Monday!

Morning ladies,

Queen, I really don't think Lucifer could get your HIV, since it has to get into the bloodstream.  But his behavior certainly is concerning.  He seems to think he's the king of the place.

Tendai, I'm glad you're moved.  I hope you enjoy your new place, you certainly deserve it after that old place.  What's the government of national unity?  Is this some new thing?

Mum, I'm glad you got the card and pic.  Pizza and cake sound good.  I'm starving right about now and would eat them for breakfast.

Yesterday I took my granddaughter out to lunch and we went to see 'The Tales of Despereaux.'  It was a good movie, and taught a good lesson.  My grandson and the adopted mom also went.  It was playing at the dollar theater, so it only cost both of us (granddaughter and I) $3.00 to get in.

I also finished off my biology homework. I watched part of the Superbowl.  I missed 1/2 time though and was wanting to see it because of Bruce Springsteen playing.  I love him and heard on the news today that he did a great job.  I didn't see the ending until this morning.  I'm not really into football.  I like the Chicago Cubs; always have, always will, win or lose.  There's just something about Cubs' fans...

Today I'm going to do a paper for my other class, and tidy up.  I hope you ladies have a good day.

The biting is getting worse, it's getting to the point that he is breaking skin and drawing blood. I am wondering if he can get infected from me? He has an appointment with the vet on Thursday, not sure whether to mention this or not.

Queen, there's no way Lucifer could become infected from you whether your blood gets into his bloodstream or not. It's call hiv - human  immunodificiency virus for a reason - only humans can get it. There is a illness cats get call fiv - feline  immunodeficiency virus, but only cats get it.

As for the biting, I haven't a clue what might be causing it. I've had cats all my life and none of them have ever had this problem. Hope you get it sorted soon. Make sure you're washing any bites where he's broken your skin out with plenty of antiseptic - cats mouths are notoriously dirty and full of bacteria.

Top of the morning to ya, ladies....

First, let me send my condolences to Wishful. I was wondering if you were going to mention it here. I saw it on MySpace. She is now out of pain and will continue to watch over you and your family... :-*

Tendai---I caught the reference to Beth Pheonix though no one else prolly did... ;) For those of you who don't know, Beth Pheonix was the Women's Champion in the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment). You know Melina has the belt now. And Raw comes on tonight, I am on it!!!!

Ann-- Thanks for clearing that up for me. I knew cats and dogs had their version but I wasn't sure if our virus could be passed to them. So far so good, I didn't get bit yesterday. And he's acting kind of mellow today. My sister thinks the biting could be coming from him going into "heat" or smelling a female cat outside. Though I have not seen another cat on my block since I moved here.

Mum----Happy Birthday. 36 huh, wanna trade for 40 but I know what you mean about your body. Mine let's me know all the time especially when I have to look at that needle every night at 9. I hope you pamper yourself today... :-*

Nothing exciting planned for me today, just relaxing around the house. The next few days are going to be a little hectic....Have a good one.....

Well, still no power. Tomorrow will be one week. Luckily I have a gas stove so we are able to cook but the boredom has taken a toll on everyone. There is a slight chance for a little snow in the next couple of days, hopefully it will pass us though. Yesterday it was almost 60 outside. That is just plain nuts. Crossing my fingers for the next few days. Hope everyone else is well.

Wish - im so sorry about your mom. My condolences..

Mum - happy birthday!

Queen - we're so behind in wrestling here. how did Beth lose when she had that crazy girl who jumps out of the crowd and bashes Melina when she's beating Beth?

Betty - the government of nationaly unity is the new government comprising of Mugabe's party combined with the opposition MDC.  Mugabe is President and Tsvangirai will be Prime Minister. He's going to be sworn in on the 11th of February.  Oh and we have new money AGAIN.  they cancelled twelve zeros AGAIN, i think that makes thirty or so zeros they've cancelled from our currency now ::)

Morning ladies,

Jamie, again, my condolences on your loss.  I know she's out of pain and suffering, but it still doesn't make it easy.  You're in my thoughts.

Queen, no, I didn't know who Beth Phoenix is.  You would like the movie 'The Wrestler.'

Netta, I'm glad you're doing something with the Aids Activist group.  Be sure to let us know how it goes.  And good luck with your colonoscopy.  Be careful when you're taking that stuff that cleans you out.  Someone I know who did that got dehydrated.

Jenny, wow, one week without power?  Any news of when it's going to be restored?  That would drive me insane.

Cristy, I hope you got some sleep last night.

Wendy, what's going on?

Tendai, I don't know how you keep up with the money situation.  So, your bills are no longer in the denomination of millions?

I did the paper that's due in one of my classes yesterday, and will type it out today.  I got a huge migraine yesterday while doing the paper, and had to lay down.  I'm not sure what caused it.  I drank a diet Pepsi right before it hit.  I was thinking that caffeine helps migraines?  I cut way back on the caffeine when I quit smoking, and rarely drink it other than the morning cup of coffee.

Today is bill paying day, and I'm going by my ASO in the afternoon.  I'm taking a medical bill into them, and I'm meeting the lady who wants to start a women's support group.  This will be the first one in years that they've had here.  The last one they had was in the middle 90's.  I hope this one happens, and that ladies attend.  It's so hard to get women here to go to anything like that.

Anyway, that's my day.  You ladies have a good one.

Wishful, I'm so very sorry about the loss of your mom.  I will certainly keep you and your family in our prayers.

Jenny, we had that same problem after hurricane Andrew hit Louisiana.  I'm glad you have a way to cook.  At least the temps are warming a bit so you don't freeze.

Well, our saga continues.  We went to the new ENT yesterday only to be told by the receptionist that she FORGOT to call us and let us know that the doctor was in surgery and wouldn't be in for at least 2hrs.  I was livid and Mini was upset.  I feel like I am on a never-ending merry-go-round - constantly moving, but never going anywhere.  She has another appointment tomorrow afternoon.  If it doesn't work out, we have an interview with another ENT onThursday.  I know it's not the guys fault, but it still bites.

Hubby is out of town today for work, so I'll be suiting up all the kids for dance class tonight.  I hate driving in the snow, but it can't be helped.  I'll also have them all for school - fingers crossed.

Ladies, you all have the best of Tuesdays.  I'll let you know what happens tomorrow afternoon.  Eventually, we'll have to make progress.

Howdy All---

Tendai--- Beth lost the belt at the last pay per view which I think was the Royal Rumble. I didn't see it but Melina has it now. Last night Beth mandhandled Candice Michelle , of course Santino and the side kick were along. I am wondering how far behind you are over there because a lot has been happening.

Betty--- They have been showing bits and pieces of that movie during Raw. Mickey Rourke was even challenged by Chris Jericho after Rourke said something about him. They even appeared on Larry King. Sports entertainment, you gotta love it...Well, you don't but I do.... ;D

Nothing going on for me today, just paying bills. I was looking for an iguana but the ones I saw were either females or looked sickly. So, I will wait. I did buy some new speakers for my computer. I really want to try them out so bad but I know I'll get a phone call from Miss Thing upstairs. My bf finally got the money for the car now she is looking for the guy to fix it. Dropped some money to my son via the internet. I was also able to email him a letter which makes things way easier. He is hoping to get into some type of boot camp, if he does then he'll just have to serve a year. So, we shall see....

Other than that, all is quiet...

Hey Ladies-

Happy Birthday Mum!!! 36 seems like it was long ago but really just 3 long years.

Tendai-  LOL on the shaving. It's funny how its really just a personal decision. Some guys like it, some guys don't care.  Glad to hear about the new place. It sounds safe which is the most important thing for you.

Betty-  I'm going to movies tomorrow and it's a toss between MILK and Slum dog. Though, I'm really intrigued  with Harvey Milk's story, I'm being pulled by Slum dog.    Biology sounds like it's getting better?

Netta-  Good luck on your colonoscopy on Friday.  As you know, the worst part is the night before.  I had one a few years ago.

Queen - The question of transmitting hiv to the cat has a lot of people wondering, though Ann set the record straight.   My doctor told me of a story of one of her patients.  He had a partner who was negative.  They owned a high spirited who bit the poz guy and then the neg guy one night in bed.  This raised a lot of questions and the possibilities.  I realize this is not relative to your story but interesting in any event.

Winn-  I like the new animation. What program do you use?

Christy -  keep looking up on that job search.

Welcome to the thread Happy!

Viv-  It's snowing and cold on the Jersey shore tonight.  Would love to be on your coast for a bit.

Yesterday was a costly day financially.  My cell phone broke.  The 3,6, and 9 were intermittently working until the most awkward of pushes wouldn't cut it.  Then my great dane had a nail that was split on two sides.  I believe it happened on the beach.  Dirt and sand got into the the exposed areas and her quick was exposed.  The vet had to anesthetize her and cut off the entire nail and then cortirize the end.  It hardly snows here and now that my dog has her leg bandaged, I have to wrap it up in plastic bags to keep the wrappings dry.

Today was a costly day emotionally.  I had a friend staying with me until he got back on his feet.  He wants more from the relationship but I don't want to go down that path again after thinking about it many times.  But worse, my ex (who broke up with me about 3 months ago) is dating someone.  But he's taken it to the next level and is getting serious.  I found out from some mutual friends.  The break up devastated me because for the first time in a long time I was really happy.  I feel like I'm on the verge of tears all day...even crossing over to a full on cry fest.  I hate feeling this way.

Hope you ladies are well.  Good night to you all :)

Good morning Ladies. Not much going on here.                                    Betty, that sounds great about helping to start a ladies support group in your area.                 Sorry you got a migraine. I am not sure if caffeine helps but it couldn't hurt, I hope. I get them every once in a blue moon now that I am grown, I used to get them a lot when I was a child and they would last for days. Thanks for the good sleep wishes. I am just having the oddest dreams here lately. Last night I dreamed of roaches and a bunch of other weird stuff. The night before I dreamed that all the food in the house was gone and all we had to eat was some BBQ ribs and leftovers and my mom was crying cause she burnt the ribs.  Just weird.                                                           Mum, Yeah, that probably wasn't the guy's fault but they should have called you. I am sorry you are having a hard time finding a good ENT.   Hope dance classes went well and you are all home and snuggly and warm.                                                                     Tendai, hope things are going to improve where you are. How do you keep up with the money?                                                        Queen,  be careful with an iguana. All reptiles, even turtles,  carry salmonella on their skin. Other than that, I've heard they make great pets, just wash your hands good after you handle it. I'll be hoping for your son to get boot camp. Much better than prison.                       Camms, hope things get better for you. Sounds like the last couple days have been rough.                                                             Netta, good luck Friday .                                                                Hope you ladies have a good day. We had a snow day yesterday, Robert was out of school so I took him to Walmart with me and found him a  Mario Brothers shirt that lights up for $5. Talk about a happy child. He is so easy to please at least at this age but I think  he will stay easy to please.   He went to school today so I will just be staying inside cause it's 25 degrees outside.          TTYL.  Cristy

Morning ladies,

Mum, that sucks that the receptionist forgot to call you.  Good luck today; I'm hoping for the best.

Queen, do you have some headphones for your computer?  I have some speakers; they're little, but they're very loud when I want them to be.  Sometimes when my neighbors in the middle get to slamming their door too much, I'll come out and put some music on and turn it up real loud (that's awful isn't it).  I just hate it when people slam doors.

Camms, wow.  What a time of it you've been having lately.  I hope your doggy heals up soon.  Is the friend who was staying with you the one who wouldn't stop drinking?  And I'm sorry about your ex.  It takes time to heal from a serious relationship that didn't work out.  If you feel like crying, cry.  Hell, I cry when I see a sad advertisement on the t.v. about abused animals.  I never used to.  I think it must be age.  Anyway, it always helps to let things out.

Cristy, strange dreams indeed.  I was thinking maybe your roach dreams were triggered by Tendai's story about the roach being on her back?  I have strange dreams, but I don't remember mine, usually after I've been up a couple hours.  Young children are easy to please pretty much.  My grandkids are.  I'm so glad for that too, 'cause I don't have a lot of money to spend on them.

Well, it's 8F degrees here this morning.  I'm so over this frigid weather.  It makes one not even want to go out for anything.  In the western counties here, they got over a foot of snow.  I'm hoping that stays away from us...

I have school tonight.  Other than that, just a couple other things to do.  I hope you ladies have a good day.

Popping in fast - taking a break from the booglets for a second before working on geography.  Weather for yesterday was predicted to have 12 inches or more, but we had 1/4 of an inch that melted by 9am with mostly sun - a few clouds - all day long.  It was frigid, but at least it was sunny and driving was safe.

Today we could get 1 - 3 inches.  There was no delay for schools, so I'm hoping that means they've cleaned off the roads.  Mini's appointment isn't until 3.  We'll have to pull out by 2:15.  If schools don't send kids home early, that SHOULD mean the road people would've been out clearing the way for buses.  If not, things could get very interesting :-\

Starting tomorrow, we should have SUN, SUN, SUN.  Still cold, but SUN and no snow!!  I have another eye appointment at noon and will put the car in for an oil change and new windshield wipers.  Friday the high is 40 - I'm breaking out the tank tops and shorts ;)  We're taking Friday off.  We've had school during snow days, so we're taking off on a pretty day.  Plus, the theatre shouldn't be crowded with everyone in school / work.  We're hoping to take the kids to see "Doggy Hotel".

Well, I guess I've delayed geography about as much as I can.  We've made it through spelling (they have spelling tests everyday), math, and language arts.  Geography and science, then we're done for the day.  YEAH!!

I'll update you all when we get back from the ENT's office.  Mini said that she's not calling him doctor anything because he didn't show up on Monday.  So now, she'll just call him Daniel (his first name).  I can't wait for those 2 to meet. ;D

I will grab the #100 spot with some good news. WE LOVE DOCTOR DANIEL!  It's about stinkin' time, too.  He listened to everything that I said, asked very intelligent questions, did NOT have a god complex, and did not treat me like some half-witted idiot.  Mini's tempanogram and hearing test were both normal which indicated no residual effects from the infections.  Her eardrums showed no infection and were pretty and healthy.

HOWEVER (there's always a "however" in my life :-\), to address the headaches and dizziness, he did some prelim testing for vertigo.  He's not sure if she has it or not and ordered a VNC on the 17th.  Basically, they'll put hot and cold water in her ear, then make her dizzy.  This goes on for 90 minutes.  I was warned not to give her anything heavy for breakfast (test is at 9) because she may have projectile vomitting. Yee-ha!  The test will measure her vestibular system and check for "room-spinning" vertigo.  We'll go back and see Dr. D the 18th for the results.

Her nasal passages were swollen so we have 2 sample bottles of Aspepro spray to use 2x/day until we see him again.  He'll check her nose and if it's helping, he'll write her a prescription.

That's all I have to report.  I'm exhausted.  I put together a lasagna before I left so Hubby just had to pop it in the oven.  I've now got double fudge brownies in the oven for dessert.  I'm ready to call it a week.

Much love to you all!
Mum

queen - we're where Jeff hardy got his ass exploded with fireworks while on the ropes doing his entrance thing. who's trying to kill him? Edge? i wouldnt put it past him..

camms - sorry u feel so lousy about the ex. time heals all wounds babe

mum - enjoy the sun. i bet the appointment with "Daniel" will be interesting, do let us know what happens.

betty - good luck with the support group.  i guess you have to bribe them or something to get them to come :)  maybe organise fun women stuff to do. when i think 'support group" i see a bunch of people sitting around telling sad stories. i think  i may have stuck with the one i attended a couple of times if there was other interesting stuff to do after the talking. Kind of like a fun club thing for pozzies, u know....?

christy - i've given up hope of keeping up with our money. if we hadnt cut off zeros ever, we would be dealing with $ sextillion, and i dont even know much that is. i guess its the best thing to do in the circumstance.  thing is virtually everything is paid in either US$ or south african rand so our own currency isnt being used much. people were actually declining to accept it. most of the shops are now in foreign currency and prices seem to be coming down a bit coz of the flood of goods. Even the public transport is paid in forex 50cents a ride. bread is still $1 a loaf. How much is it there?

nothing much happening here, still reeliing from the expenses i incurred with the moving. if i hadnt managed to save a bit last month i'd be in it for sure.  i miss mr out of town, he wants to come over the weekend but he is broke (as usual) and cant afford the busfare. sucks. i hope his boss fnd something to come here for and he can get free transport. oh well.

Morning ladies,

Mum, I'm so glad things went well with the new ENT.  That test Min has to take sounds awful; I hope it helps her.  I hate taking medical tests that make me uncomfortable.  You know, with used cars, they have that diagnostic machine the mechanics hook cars up to to find out what's wrong with them.  They really need to make one for humans.

Tendai, in the very early 90's, I used to go to a women's support group that was very well attended.  Of course, back then, things were different.  We hung onto each other like glue, since we never knew if we'd see each other again.  Most of the women who went are dead now.  Anyway, I hope this one's well attended and that people get what they need.  I"ll probably just listen, unless someone asks me something.

It's only 3F degrees right now, but it's supposed to get up to 25F today.  By the weekend, they're saying 40's.  I'll believe that when I see it.

Last year in September, I applied for a scholarship for the YMCA, and got one, so I was told to only pay $15/month.  Of course, I never went back.  Well, last week a lady from there called and asked me when I was going to activate my membership.  I thought, "oh great, busted."  So, I went yesterday, paid them and got a tour.  I guess that means I'm going to have to use it.  Monday I'm supposed to have an orientation, where a guy shows me how to use the equipment properly, and is going to try to help me decide on what to do, how many etc.  I can't do any jumping around or use machines where my legs are in motion, because of my knees.  My orthopedist told me if I wanted to do anything cardiovascular to get in the swimming pool (he said you can't injure a joint in the water).  So, I'll see how it goes and maybe take a water aerobics course eventually (if I get brave enough to wear a bathing suit).  Anyway, that's going to be my new venture.  I'm also going to talk to a dietician next Friday (Medicare pays for this) to help me formulate a healthy diet, learn portion control etc.  I gained 10 lbs over the holidays, and I really need to get rid of it plus about 20 more (lbs).

I went to see Frost/Nixon yesterday.  It was a great movie.  Frank Langella did a terrific job.  Then I had class last night.  It was alright I suppose.  Tonight is the dreaded Biology.  My therapist comes over today.  I hope you ladies have a good day.

Betty-  It's great that you have the ability to go to the YMCA. It's a great facility and offer a lot, as far as, classes and equipment.   I was going there with my ex.  He added me as member but I'm opting out for the future.  I am currently looking into a new gym that I can afford.

Tendai-  I hear you regarding moving expenses.  I just moved and it was costly from renting a 18 footer, dinner for the guys who helped, and then the a month in a half of rent for a deposit.  Plus, all the extra stuff when you move into a new place.

Mum-- Sounds like Dr Daniel is what you're needing...especially the fact that he listens and responds.

Went to the "couch lady" shrink for the first time in 4 years.  She remembered me and told me things verbatiim about my life.  That's impressive considering she no longer had my file.  She's a brilliant Indian woman whose advice is insightful and useful.  I've gone to other psychiatrist who listen and nod with no reactions whatsoever.  I might as well be talking to my dog and cat....I at least know they're listening, perhaps not understanding but still listening.

Saw Slum dog last night.  Great film.  Nice concept and visually dynamic.

Ladies be well today :)

Hugs,

Cammie

Not much really going on with me. Yesterday must've been about the retrograde because both my sister and my best friend had it out with their sons. I listened to both bitch but knew how they felt. This generation of kids is really messed up, that's for sure. Not all but most of them.

I am just sitting here listening to music. I called my sister ahead of time to let her know. Though I did have to put Lucifer in his room so I could close the door and he could get to his food and litterbox. I am really feeling lazy and not in the mood to do anything. Yesterday I went to see my ID doc, prolly one of my worst visits ever. I guess my sugar is out of whack even though I am still taking my shot and pills. But I have looked for a new PCP doctor, now I am waiting to see if they accept me. My cd4 took a swan dive too, the numbers are alright. But it is to be expected since I stopped taking my meds for a few months. I stopped them because that was around the holidays and I was concerned with the Sustiva aggravating things. So, next month I am going to go back on my meds. I just need a break......

Tendai---Then you are really behind a few weeks I think. So, I am not going to say anything, I don't want to give it away...

Betty--- I was trying to get one of those scholarships to the Y awhile back. I am not going to say when I am gonna get my ass there. Every time I do, it never happens.

Someone needs to step up and start a new thread.....

Good day Ladies :)

I have not been around for some time. I will not try to catch up, probably will not be able to.
How are you all keepin’
All is well from my side

Minismom – I am ecstatic Mini found a doctor that is willing to listen and be patient. I changed my 1st doctor because of unfriendliness and unwillingness to listen.
Give Mini a hug from Aunt Happy

Betty – I am glad I am not the only one who is studying. When people hear that you are POZ and studying they kinda think you are mad, because to them you are sentenced to death. Good luck with your weight loss goal.

Queen T - Your numbers are better than mine my cd4 count at last count was 480 and my viral load at last check was 30990
I am not on Meds yet

All – Yes we can

With love Happy

Good morning to all my sweeties!  It's Friday and we've made it!

Happy, I'm excited that we found an ENT that hasn't lost his mind, but we're still struggling with Mini's PID (pediatric infectious disease doctor).  She's completely lost her mind and switching, at this moment, isn't an option we have - but we're still trying.  We go back and see her on 3/6 (after seeing the lipid doctor on 3/3).

I went to Health Access yesterday and got an application.  Hubby is getting all the paperwork together (pay stubs, copies of our bank account, my DHHR rejection letter, ect.) so I can turn it all in today.  They were really nice and the facility is beautiful - not what I expected.  I mentioned that I have an ostomy, and the receptionist gave me some of my ostomy supplies - FOR FREE - and I haven't even been accepted there yet.  She just handed me 2 huge bags of supplies and told me to take whatever I needed.  It saved me a bunch of $$.

We're taking the kids to see "Paul Blart" today.  I read a bunch of reviews to find out why it got its PG rating.  From what I've read, there's no language and no sexual content.  It's mainly the thematic aspects - whatever that means.  Here, if you go to the 1st showing of the day, it's only $4. They don't make us pay for #6 because of her hearing loss.  So, we'll be cutting out of school early and having lunch at the mall before the movie.  It's cheaper to feed them lunch than it is to buy them popcorn - go figure.

Except for the usual (including the bottom half of my laundry mountain), nothing else going on.  It's supposed to be sunny and warmer (40F) with no snow for the next 7 days.  I'm danged giddy ;D

Have a wonderful Friday and a spectacular weekend!
Much love stretching to all 4 corners :-*

Morning ladies,

I wonder where Andrea has been?  She usually posts every day.

Camms, you're seeing a regular psychiatrist?  I know, usually they don't talk.  One of my friends just saw one (the 1st one she's seen since moving back here from another city) and she said the appointment lasted for an hour.  I was shocked.  All appointments with the psychiatrists I've had (except the one that had me strung out on all that medication), lasted about 5 minutes.  You'd think they would give a person as much time as a regular medical doctor does.  And yeah, my cat looks at me when I'm talking to her and sometimes even meows at me.

Queen, believe me, the only reason I activated the membership was because a lady from the Y called me.  That's what it usually takes to get me to exercise-some outside pressure.  Good luck with restarting your meds.  About kids today....things are so much different than when I was being brought up.  We never had electronic stuff.  My mum played games with me, stuff like that.  I'm not saying I was a gem, of course, because I was strung when I was 15, so.... but I started taking drugs mostly because other kids made fun of me (my family was on the very low end of middle class).  I went to private schools, and the other kids (most of them) all came from wealthy families.  I remember one of my friend's fathers bought her a car when she turned 16.  A brand new one, not a used one.  Anyway, I didn't mean to start rambling. Of course I continued to use drugs because of being an addict.  And, neighbors used to look out for the neighborhood kids.  If we did something bad, they would call our parents and tell them, so we would get in trouble.  Nowadays if you say something to the kid's parents, the mom usually tells you to mind your own business.

Happy, what are you studying in school?

Mum, let me know how you liked that movie.  My granddaughter wants to go see it.  I can believe it's cheaper to feed the kids lunch than popcorn.  I got some popcorn when I went to see Frost/Nixon, a small one, and it cost $4.75.  It's supposed to be 39F here today and into the 40's this weekend.  Wouldn't it be nice if this was the end of winter?

Tuesday I have to get a test done to my heart.  They're going to inject something into me that's going to cause my heart to start racing, as if I were taking the test on a treadmill (but I'm not going to be).  Then, they're going to take an echocardiogram (like an ultrasound) of my heart while it's racing.  My doctor told me my heartbeat is way off.  I tried to tell him it's because of my two valves that are prolapsed, and he went on and on about how I have several risk factors for heart disease.  I then tried to plead my case about starting to exercise, and going on a good diet to try to lose the extra fat.  But, he wasn't having it.  He said he especially wanted to know if I was going to start exercising.  I think the medical profession just likes to torture people.  So, anyway, that test is going to be Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m.  My case manager from the ASO is going to take me.  Oh, my doctor also told me that when they inject the stuff in, it makes the person feel like they pee'd their pants.  Fun....

I'm probably going to work on a report today that's going to be due next week in my Biology class (we just found out about it last night).  Once again, the professor only gave us a 10 minute break, and kept us the whole 4 hours.  He's a nice man, and I know it's because he really loves what he does that he goes on and on, but geesh.

Well ladies, I'm going to eat breakfast and take a shower.  You ladies have a good day.

Good day ladies-

Bt-  I've had so many tests on my heart from the injection to the halter test.  I had mitral valve prolapse from Phen Phen that I took back when I was working as a  nanny for a doctor.  She gave them to me because they gave me a lot of energy and it was a good to keep me at her beck and call. Totally effed up huh? Well, it was bad enough, stage two that I had to get antibiotics everytime I went to the dentist.  I started taking CQ10 and it reversed the mitral valve. When I first started taking the supplement my cardiologist told me I was wasting my money.  After he saw the results he quickly changed the subject.   I'm sorry for going on and on I wanted to just let you know that I've been there with all the tests and wish you well.  I don't even recommend it to other people because it is expensive and what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another.

Mum- you are just the busiest women from doctors to movies to whipping up a meal for a football team.  Where do you get the energy?  How was the movies?

Queen-  what's going on with meds?  was the drug holiday something that you decided or something your doctor incouraged.

A shout out to you all, tendai, christy, winn, happy and anyone i'm missing.  Where's drag been?

Have a great day,

Camms
