great looking forurm.  I am 48 and was diagnosed in 1996.  I started hiv meds 1 year ago.  Its been an exciting adventure to say the least, very emotional with lots of ups and downs.  I am  taking truvada and kaletra for the last six months and so far so good.  Had the usual side effects but nothing to earth shattering.  Glad to have found this forum and look forward to meeting people here. ::)

Hey Ric-WELCOME!  I am fairly new to this also (just started in like last week).  Been diagnosed since 1988.  I have already had a LOT of helpful advice.  And I love the wide range of topics (especially some of the "OFF TOPIC" ones)!  The people on this are great.  HAVE FUN! ;D

Current Meds ; Viramune / Epzicom Eliquis, Diltiazem. Pravastatin 80mg, Ezetimibe. UPDATED 2/18/24
 Tested positive in 1985,.. In October of 2003, My t-cell count was 16, Viral load was over 500,000, Percentage at that time was 5%. I started on  HAART on October 24th, 2003.

 UPDATED: As of April, 2nd 2024,Viral load Undetectable.
CD 4 @593 /  CD4 % @ 18 %

Lymphocytes,total-3305 (within range)

cd4/cd8 ratio -0.31

cd8 %-57

Hello Rick

Welcome to our global family. I think you'll find us a friendly group of folks. I'll look forward to reading more from you. There is also a forum here called Long Term Survivors that you might find useful. It's new and we're just beginning to find our way around that forum. It's a very friendly place for folks like us who have been positive for a long time.

Like you , I'm 48 as well. I've been positive since 85 though likely since 81.
