Glad your on the road to recovery :)
I quite liked the hosptial food, especially the breakfasts. But would always get pissed off at dinner when they would bring me a juice glass full of Iced Tea, like 2 swallows worth. I reminded them that this was Texas and how dare they have the nerve to serve me 2 swallows of iced tea. on my last day they brought me a pitcher of tea. Chumps.

I get two medium sized cups of tea for lunch and dinner..But they also give me two cans of coke for each meal so the beverages I'm gettin are crazy!! The food isn't too bad but I am usually still hungry after I eat it..I'm a big boy :)

When I was in hospital the menu was on a 6 day rotation. By the 4th week it was getting old so I ate in the cafeteria. It also got me away from nagging nurses.
Or you could do like I did and threaten people not to come visit unless they had some leftovers for me. Anything, as long as it wasn't hospital food.

The poor quality of hospital food never ceases to amaze me. It would seem to be a no-brainer that people recovering from illness in hospital need good nutrition. Many people who are ill have no appetite and you'd think they'd make the meals as appetising as possible, but that rarely seems to be the case.
The hospital I have had occasion to have been an inpatient in in Liverpool trucks their meals in from some private catering company in Manchester and the meals are re-heated in a microwave on the ward. Every single meal tastes the same - or should I say they're all just as tasteless and the meat is always like cardboard or shoe-leather. The food at my local hospital here on the Rock is far better - patients get the same food as they cook for the cafeteria and it's often quite delicious, so I know it can be done.
AC, some of the patients in Liverpool ring local carry-out restaurants who deliver. Is this possible where you're at? While you shouldn't have to pay twice for your food, at least you'd be able to get at least one decent meal a day. Hope you're outta there soon!

The worst dish I had during my extended hospital stay was white fish, which was more hard bones than anything else. I wish I'd thought to ask if I could order a pizza!
