Title: Won't Be Afraid, Just Thirsty
Post by: Lwood on August 10, 2006, 10:00:24 am
Rather than give the endlessly simmering Crockpot of Muslim Extreemism yet another stir,
in the light of todays events, and the upcoming International travel plans of many of our Forums members I thought I'd try to extend some good vibes today, and ofcourse dress apropriately

Although I wont be attending AMG in Montreal, I will be flying to NY in a couple of weeks, and Toronto shortly after that, so I'll be there in the long lines, without my usual bag of munchies, and Diet Coke
( with NO touchup hair goop or CK Obsession for Men either, WAR is HELL !!)
Maybe I should send Dingo This shirt too..

Any group that can Handle HIV can surely deal with this latest wrinkle without a problem  be 8)

What are you talking about, Lwood?

I for one am very confident the airlines will be able to quench our thirst with their diminished stocks, sparsly staffed planes and 4 oz drink cups.   ::)

I've been flying overseas since I was 16- 31 years and never saw anyone take a drink on board. Is this a new phenomenon since they are cutting services?

Well, I sometimes take a bottle of mineral water on-board, cuz by the time the first drinks service gets around to my invariably awful "cattle class" seat, I'm parched. How I loathe air travel! Over the last five years, I tried to sleep with the flight stewards of as many different airlines as I could,  :P , but I've gotten upgraded only twice so far. So sad.

I always take a sandwich, a bottle of iced tea and large bag of M&Ms on a flight. I fantasize that if I survive a plane crash in a remote location the M&Ms will be the difference between life and death. Somehow they taste better if I think that way.

I don't fly much at all...but just seems the friendly skies...aren't anymore.  Why did they cut out (complimentary) meal service during the last few years?  When I have flown...it's hard to think of a meal to fix to take on the flight that is not going to be perishable...particular concern for HIV+s.  Only thing that comes to mind is a PBJ sandwich, which I have done.  Anything with meat or dairy ingredients won't work.

Then of course some years ago I lost the right to smoke on-board  >:(

Some things WERE better in the "old days"!!

But the most dreaded component of flying for me...is getting saddled with one or more infants or unsupervised children...who raise hell during the whole flight while the parent(s) sit oblivious to it all.

I found it interesting with the talking heads on this morning that with Chertoff, no one asked him why the likes of petting zoos were slated for money, while major cities  were being cut.  This story is being paraded around to hide the fact the HS is a farce. In fact the Brits wanted to wait a little longer so as to get more evidence being that some of those didn't have passports etc.
So here are two stories dealing with Homeland Insecurity.
