What have you Learned from Commercials?
« on: November 10, 2010, 08:02:50 pm »
Tonight,  I learned if your car overheats in the desert,  take Viagra and pour in a little bottle of water and  your overheating muscle car will be fine. ;D  In a competing commercial,  I learned that if your house is flooding,  take Cialis and the flood will turn into a tranquil pond and  the mess into an oasis! :o

If you drive the new Nissan Leaf, a polar bear will leave the tundra and come to your town looking for you and give you a big hug in your driveway--right before he eats you.

Actually, that commercial is very sweet.  I watch mostly news shows, so I mostly see car and drug commercials.  Oh, and that Tax Masters guy.  I'm wondering why he only stands in profile.  Could SNL be right about why?

All those years of just mimicking:

how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.....

I never actually though about what I was saying ....thought it was just a tongue twister designed to drive you crazy the faster you said yet..
and then:

voila: a commercial of woodhucks..chucking wood (I had never connected chucking with throwing until I saw it on the commercial of woodcucks chucking wood into a lake or pond...and enjoying themselves immensely...

The light bulb came on when the owner stopped his car on a bridge going to his property and hollered at the woodchucks to stop chucking his wood.....

I cannot get it out of my mind now and  can't resist asking everyone to

1) say the phrase three times real fast
2) what does it mean? :)

I hate commercials where people are eating and crunching and smacking on food .

I'm serious ... If I'm not eating or crunching on something and somebody else is in my hearing range is smacking and crunching on anything I want to choke them out . It irritates me so much I'm irritated it irritates me so much .

I learned that the people who make Geico commercials are SERIOUSLY messed up.  I mean have you seen their last like 15 commercials?  I also learned that the fucking filet'o'fish song is probably the catchiest jingle I've heard in years.

Commercials? I watch TV on computer as podcasts and downloads.

More and more commercials on news web sites however. NY Times advertisers seem to think only the rich read that online.  Its annoying. But I also think NY Times maybe only wants luxury products to be advertised.  Their editorial content having to do with lifestyle is and always has been a big joke among new yorkers for its ridiculous elitism.

Huffington Post suffers the same snotty elitism in lifestyle coverage.  If there ever was a walking definition of limousine liberal its Ariana Stassinopoulos.  Talk about a chameleon!

Learned tonight that Listerine makes a new product called "Listerine Zero" that doesn't contain alcohol.  They said this if for people who do not like the "intense" feeling from regular Listerine.  And, I thought I was a baby.  I guess it uses some chemical to kill the bacteria in the absence of alcohol.

For months, I've seen this commercial at work, and never had a clue what it was about.  We only have a very small screen TV at work, ( and I sit 20 feet away from it) and I was never close enough to catch what was written in this commercial.   Finally the other day, I got up close to the TV and finally realized what  was about. This commercial is put out by SAMHSA .

I did some searching and finally found it on youtube:

I have known that I am not the target audience of television advertising when Ketcham Worldwide, L.A. interviewed me for Media Buyer on the national Acura account.  I watch the commercials for entertainment value.

What I have learned recently is... If I pay attention to the band Victorius Secret and get a free credit report, I can afford to buy Victoria Secret's new bra that will increase my bust size TWO CUPS!  ;D  Have the best day

What is it with the commercials anymore?  You don't see commercials for bread or baking powder any more.   Just saw a Victoria's Secret commercial that claims their boostier make "them " look two sizes bigger.   I swear if that thing pulled  those boobies  up any higher, she wouldn't be able to turn her head  any more because  her chin would be caught between them. :o

We are yet to master the optimum design for either the toothbrush or razor. There always seems to be a new innovative and better way to brush your teeth and to shave.

when I see that one playing during AMC's new series "The Walking Dead", I'm never certain if I'm still watching the show or seeing a commercial. LOL

by the way, the roadside safety flare from the glove compartment into the zombies's mouth is a great move. If I am ever attacked by zombies I hope that I get the chance to do that. LOL

`Yes,  people are a wonderful thang".

The Kay's Jeweler commercial.... "Kay wants to hear from YOU"

Sounds like a hooker franchise. ::)

Cialis commercial:  If you have a sudden loss of hearing, see your doctor>>>>

And doc is gonna say,   "There is more wrong with you than a limp thingy and you can't hear!"  DON'T PUT THE PILL IN YOUR EAR! ;D
