Against all odds?
« on: March 19, 2017, 09:28:18 pm »
Dear all,

I am a 33-years-old male from Brazil (sorry, my English is not very good). Firstly I would like to congratulate you all for the good work you do here.

In the beggining of the year, I booked a femdom/mixed wrestling session with a female sex worker here. Most of the time she was wearing lingerie, but after a while she took off her clothes.

After she took off her clothes, she sat briefly in my face (less than a minute). When I tried to escape, I opened my mouth and felt the lubrification of her vagina in my mouth.

We didn't have oral sex, but there was contact of her lubrification and my mouth. I do not know exactly how was my mouth that day. After 5 weeks of this contact, I felt some of the symptons described as posible symptons of the infection.

After 6 weeks, I did a rapid blood test and it was negative. The protocol of the Ministry of Health here says that we need to repeat the tests after 30 days, so I will do it again this week (and, if it is negative again, after 12 weeks).

If I am infected, will this be a very rare case? Mouth contact with a vagina, and tested negative after 6 weeks?

Many thanks for your help.

Tiago

You did not have a risk of HIV infection from the incident you described, so, yes, it would be rare--so rare that it has never happened before.

Hi everyone!

Just to update my post.

So today, after 10,5 weeks from the risk situation, I did a new rapid test. They didn't have a rapid blood test, so I took the oral one, and it is negative again. I understand that these tests are reliable, right? I did it in the hospital, and was supervised by a nurse.

I know that HIV symptons are not specific, but it is so hard to believe when you got several of them a few weeks after the situation. My were nausea, dry mouth, white tongue, loss of weight, iching, and 2 or 3 red spots in my body.

So if I finally tested negative after 12 weeks, I am going to be one more to say that symptons are not related to HIV!

Many thanks again to you all, and I hope I don't bet the odds!

Hello everyone!

So, this has been a hell of a year for me.

After my last post, I have the information that the girl is HIV+. I did not have the confirmation but it did scare me a lot!

Contact with the fluids of a HIV+ woman plus the symptoms I had made me extremely Afraid. What could it be if not HIV?! White tongue, loss of weight, nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, loss of concentration, red spots in the body...why is this happening?

I couldn't get HIV out of my mind, despite all the information I got from you guys and from the infectologist I went.

So I did four more 4th generation tests and, of course, all of them were negative. The last one was yesterday, almost 10 months from the exposure! So I think that finally I am able to move on!

My message here is just please, rely on your tests. Don't focus on your symptoms. They may be something else or nothing at all!

Well, at least now I am much more educated about HIV and will try to pass all the information I gathered to my friends.

Thanks Jim, Patrick and Wade for the time you dedicate to this forum! It was really appreciated!

Hi

Glad to hear you are trying to put this behind you. Really I can only stress that you had no risk to start with.

Anyhow glad you are ok.
