Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Risks of sexual contact with a trans person with AIDS

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to seek your medical advice on a sensitive matter that has been causing me some concern. Recently, I was in a situation that I believe might have exposed me to the risk of HIV.

I met a transgender person and had contact between my penis and their buttocks without penetration, and I masturbated for them. I later learned that they are HIV-positive and noticed they had sores on their body during the encounter.

My question is: Is it possible for HIV to be transmitted to me in this way? What steps would you recommend I take to ensure my safety or prevent any potential risk?

I understand the importance of medical testing and obtaining accurate advice, and I would like to know if there is a need for any specific tests or preventive medication.

Read your post three times, you engaged in masturbation and rubbing against the other persons backside.

Zero HIV risk, move on with your life.

Here's what you need to know to reduce your HIV risks:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse correctly and consistently, with no exceptions. Consider talking to your healthcare provider about PrEP as an additional layer of protection against HIV and get vaccinated against HPV, Hepatitis A & B.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices described as safe in terms of acquiring HIV still pose a risk for other easier-acquired STIs. So please do get tested at least yearly for STIs, including but not limited to HIV, and more frequently if condomless intercourse occurs.

Also, note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms; testing is the only way to know.

I forgot to tell you he did a full body massage for me and his body has red scratched pimples does this increase the risk thank you

Zero HIV risk.

In brief, your adult HIV risks are:

* Condomless intercourse & a minute (theoretical) HIV risk if you give a blowjob.
* Sharing drugs rigs (Syringes)
* Blood products/ transfusions (Rare nowadays in most nations thanks to screening)

That's it.

Dear expert, it has been three weeks and I am worried. I masturbated to him and my hands have scratches and his body has red scratched blisters. He did not take medicine because he did not know that he was infected. We found out later. I also rubbed my bare penis with his buttocks and thigh and there was semen on it. Should I be tested and can I transmit HIV this way?

did you have unprotected anal/vaginal intercourse? NO
did you share injection needles? NO

You had NO risk for HIV. You've been told this already by Jim. Adding more issues, like scratches, is still not unprotected insertive sex or sharing injection needles; so no matter what you add still doesn't make your situation a risk for HIV.
